Chapter 17 - Cultivation Begins (2)

Matt channeled the power of the heart, which was his talent, raising his right arm punching the first door.

But as his fist touched the door, it was like a fragile paper; the door shattered into pieces, scattering, disappearing from his view.

Matt's consciousness paused as he reeled in shock. There was no difficulty in breaking through the door.

As his fist touched, he felt the energy exuded by his talent that touched the door was what made it break easily like this.

Matt felt delighted by this; he felt happy by the fact that it seems like he's not limited to a vein like other D-rank Awakeners. It seems like heaven hasn't forsaken him yet.

With joy, he didn't waste time, punching the remaining doors with immense strength. All of them shattered at one punch from Matt.

After destroying them all, Matt found out that his consciousness had withdrawn, his heart delighted that he would open his first vein.

But he was all wrong….

In the outside world, as Matt destroyed the thirteen doors, the crackle of lightning resounded throughout the entire earth, and thunder roared.

Everyone looked up and wondered what was happening. Those of the strong knew what was happening, but confusion filled their hearts.

Earth had moved; it appears that it felt like something.

Meanwhile, Matt's entire mind was in shock; for minutes, he couldn't move his consciousness away from what he felt.

It turned out that he didn't open one vein but thirteen veins, four more veins than what Teacher Elizabeth had mentioned.

He looked again, thinking that he had felt wrong, but it was true.

The Lumin Vein, the Mindwell Vein, the Aether Vein, the Bravon Vein, the Stride Vein, the Solus Vein, the Ferin Vein, the Veyra Vein, the Nethra Vein, and four other unknown veins.

The four other hidden veins, the first one situated directly beneath his Lumin Vein, extending downward from his heart to his diaphragm, connecting faintly with his lungs and upper abdomen.

The second hidden vein was hidden at the base of his skull, extending from the lower back of his head down to the upper spine, interlinking with both his Mindwell and Aether Vein.

The third one, coiled around his abdomen, beneath his Solus Vein and above his intestines, forming a circular loop around his lower stomach.

And the fourth one was located deep behind his heart, close to where his spine and Solus Vein converge. Matt felt it was the most concealed of all veins, creating a faint intersection that connects his multiple major veins together.

Matt now knew why he saw a tree trunk; all the veins were connected in a tree-like form. If it's nine veins, it can't look like that form.

His mind settled, still in shock, surprise, and excitement about this.

Matt started to suspect his talent, whether it was a D-rank talent, because he hadn't heard of a D-rank talent able to do so like this.

He began to rack his brains about what happened that day when he awakened his talent at the awakening ceremony. He remembered that the crystal flashed black before a green light was released.

This set confusion in his heart; he felt that his talent wasn't what it seemed. Is it that the crystal couldn't evaluate his talent, which was why it gave a green light?

He felt clueless about what was happening; he thought of asking Teacher Elizabeth about it tomorrow before he paused and realized how naive he was.

He is now in a place where the enemy and friend can't be determined. Matt knew he had to keep this to himself and find out about the secret of his talent.

His face determined, he intended to stay low-key and show everyone in the future who the trash was.

He closed his eyes back, and according to teacher Shizue, after being able to open his vein, one can absorb Originat now, even though it's at a minor quantity compared to when you have your Requiem.

And if you haven't opened all your veins and absorbed Originat, you can't open any veins longer.

He calmed himself, trying to sense Originat in the air. Teacher Shizue just gave a perfunctory explanation about it, saying she would clarify in detail the next day.

Matt felt nothing, but his consciousness was absorbed into his body again. This time he wasn't in a misty space.

What was before him was a giant milky tree, which he knew was his vein; he felt as if it wasn't complete and alive.

He looked at the tree; the Lumin Vein was the seed and the heart root, the Aether Vein was the trunk, and the Mindwell and Veyra Veins were the upper branches.

Bravon, Solus, and Ferin Veins are the Middle Boughs. The Stride Vein was the lower roots, Nethra Vein was the Soul Branch.

The four hidden veins were the deep roots, the unseen roots that held the structure together.

He could see small branches and leaves extended from the upper branches; they felt a little dry, not like other parts of the tree.

Information entered his consciousness, his mind looking at the tree before him in disbelief; it took long for Matt to gain himself back.

It turned out the small branches and leaves were the minor veins extended from the main veins. Each of the main veins, including the hidden veins, had minor veins connected to it, and Matt is to open them all for him to be able to cultivate.

This information was what made Matt shocked. He had never heard of this, and he could imagine the scene if he opened the minor vein; how would his potential be?

SS Rank Talent can just open only nine veins, and they are the most talented in the world.

And now he hasn't opened four more veins than them, but he has to open all minor veins Matt opened his eyes; they glowed with mysterious energy. He now realized that his path was different from others. As for where it leads , it seems he would have to reach the end to see what it entails.

Instinct tells him that this was his chance. According to the information, he had reached the limit that his body could bear, opening the vein.

Matt postponed it to tomorrow; he looked outside and saw the morning was already coming.

He had spent the entire night opening his veins; he thought it was a few minutes, but it seems he has spent numerous hours.

Looking at his body that was covered with black sticky liquid. Opening his veins, his body released all the harmful substances in his body.

Matt shook his head, looking at his roommates that were sleeping. He felt his body lighter, walking gently with his feet, not making a sound.

He entered the bathroom, taking a bath to cleanse himself while sorting his plans for the future.
