Ever since I returned to my room, I had not been able to do anything.
I sat there for a few minutes, then decided to go be with my children. The problem was that they needed my attention.
They constantly talked and wanted me to react to everything they said. I tried my best.
I did everything I could to respond and be present, but there were moments when I blankly stared at nothing.
Thankfully, Luca arrived. I had only stepped away to my room while the kids were napping when he started bombarding me with questions.
I wanted to tell him what had happened the night before, but I was afraid someone might hear us.
So I decided I would tell him when we went out for dinner, since he had planned it.
Still, I felt guilty and anxious about how he would react. He might think we had dragged him into this mess without his knowledge.
"Mommy, we had an amazing time. Thank you so much," Amy and Colin said as they hugged me.
My mother had requested a nanny for the time being.
