Kurenai walked out into the field, watching as Kume emerged onto the field, and the twins moved to the side. She wanted to know where this confidence came from, both with Kume and the two talented Kunoichi. If they had faith in him, then there must be some kind of proof to back that up. "Whenever you are ready, Kume." She said.
Weaving my seals, Fire Style: Phoenix Sage Flower Nail Crimson, spitting fire out as I grabbed twelve Shurikens and threw them through it. She broke into leafs, as I looked around trying to find her. "So a Genjutsu." I said using the hand sign for release as it broke, and a clap came out. "Well, you are talented for your age, but that doesn't mean what you said was true," Kurenai said, standing on a tree branch as I looked over, making me smirk.
"Then should I kick it up a notch for you, dear Kurenai Sensei?" I said, quickly weaving my hands, taking in a giant breath before blowing out Wind Style: Wind Dragon. A massive amount of wind chakra rushed out, shocking Kurenai as a 50-meter-wide wind dragon rushed towards her, making her jump into the air as the forest was ripped to shreds.
Kurenai looked back at me with wide-open eyes. The bigger the Jutsu, the more chakra is needed. Just how much chakra does Kume have as she watched him pull out three odd-looking Kunai and throw them at her? She smirked as she chuckled to herself. "You have to do better than that, Kume. Kunai's aren't going to make me admit it." She said, pulling out a Kunai and blocking two of them as she tilted her head and noticed writing on the one flying past her head.
She looked back at me before I smirked and disappeared, showing up behind her as she screamed out, "Flying Thunder God Technique!" As I showed up behind her, weaving my hands fast and hit her with Lightning Style: Chain Lightning Technique as I targeted both of the Kunai behind her as they hit her from the front, making her grunt out in pain until she used the substitute technique and landed on the ground, as a log showed up in front of me.
As I fell towards the ground, I was weaving new hand signs as I landed, slamming them onto the ground. Earth Style: Earth Wave Technique. This time, I put way more chakra into it as the ground lifted fifteen meters, sending out a wave of earth towards her, causing her to quickly jump into a tree before jumping back into the air as she looked at the large amount of earth moving. She hadn't noticed I was already preparing another attack.
Water Style: Greater Waterfall Technique. She heard me yelling as a giant vortex, almost 100 meters wide, shot out as she quickly yelled out. "I ADMIT IT!" She said, making me control it away from her and into the forest, destroying a 300-meter pathway. Before dying out as she landed on the ground looking at me, she was shocked that a thirteen-year-old could kill her if he wanted to.
She understood now why the two Kunoichi had so much confidence in him, and he had confidence in himself. But why didn't he show this power sooner? He would have been an ANBU Jonin by now. She landed on the ground as the twins ran over to Kume, jumping up and down as they hugged him. Kurenai didn't know if she could teach them as she struggled with her thoughts. Kume walked over to her.
"Why didn't you show your abilities sooner, Kume? You know you could have left the Academy sooner and even joined the Anbu." Kurenai asked me as I shrugged before speaking. "I didn't want to leave these two; they are important to me, and I didn't trust anyone but me with their safety. Plus, Jonin will be mine soon enough anyway. Be it two years ago or two years from now, it doesn't change the fact that I will be on time." I said, walking towards her and holding a hand out.
"We will be in your care, Kurenai Sensei," I said as she looked at my hand and sighed. "I don't even know if I can teach you, Kume." She said, making me smile as I spoke. "Then guide me into becoming a better leader, if you can't teach me Jutsu. Then teach me what a Jonin should be." I said with a gentle smile, making her smile.
She had thought Kume was arrogant, but it turns out he isn't a conceited person. More confident and level-headed, she has a particular fondness for him as a student. "Very well, I still owe you a deal. What is it you want to ask me?" Kurenai said.
Her words made me think for a moment, and I nodded. "After our first mission, I want us to have a party at my home. My mother would like to meet the Jonin in charge of me, and that would be a way to do both at the same time." I said, making her smile, as it doesn't seem like anything crazy, as she nodded her head. "Okay, Kume, then it's a deal." She said.
"Oh, one more thing, please don't tell the higher-ups about my power. I want to stay by their sides, please." I said, looking at Kurenai Sensei with a sad expression, which made her sigh and nod in response.
"I won't tell them, but I do plan to put you in for the Chunin exam along with those two, as from the looks of it, they should be at that stage already or near it," Kurenai said as the three of us nodded.
"Okay, you three can go now. Meet here tomorrow morning, and I will get a mission ready for you three. An Kume, I want you to lead them when I am not around. I am putting my faith in you." She said, and I nodded; we were then dismissed.
We started walking as Kurenai was in thought before she made up her mind and used a Jutsu to check our chakra levels. Her eyes widened as the two twin and high-level Jonin chakra pools, but what shocked her the most was Kume. She had never seen a chakra pool that big; no, she had seen it once. With the Nine-Tails, she couldn't tell which of us had a bigger pool.
She was a sensor-type ninja, but she tried not to delve too deeply into people. However, the size of Kume's jutsu made her want to know more. She wanted to know more about the Shinobi under her care, but she just didn't realize that this desire would lead her on a wet and hot path in life.
