Chapter 39 - Debriefing.

We entered as the Third Hokage sat at his desk, raising an eyebrow; it was only me and Kurenai sensei here. "Hokage, we have something to report." Kurenai walked up and handed him a scroll, which he opened and read while smoking his pipe. Then, he coughed and looked at me. "Is what this scroll said true, Kume Miko?" He asked me.

"It is Lord Hokage," I said, saluting, making him stand up. "Kurenai, can you leave us?" He said, making her look hesitant, but then bowed and left. "May I ask, how you were able to best Kasime and Itachi at the same time, Kume?" He said.

I started to move the couches and table out of the middle of the room, pulling out some chalk and began to draw a smaller pattern on the ground as he watched and smoked his pipe. I dropped some of my blood in the middle, and it shimmered for a second. "Lord Hokage, please step inside and try using your chakra," I said.

He looked at me for a moment and then stepped inside, quickly realizing he could move his chakra. "Can you use your chakra inside here?" He asked, and I nodded. "I see, then that would stack the odds in your favor, that is for sure. Without chakra, we shinobi aren't much different from normal humans. But you didn't kill them, did you?" He asked.

"No, my mission was to guard the Priestess. Killing rogue nin wasn't in the mission's guidelines, plus, I wasn't sure if Itachi had anything up his sleeves, and I wasn't in a rush for glory to risk dying at a young age." I said.

The Third nodded as he played with his beard before speaking. "How did you know they were coming? To set up something like that and big enough to lure them in without giving it away, it had to be several hundred meters." He said, making me sigh, as I had hoped not to give away my Senrigan.

But I had no way to give him a good excuse that didn't sound like a lie. I closed my eyes and opened them back up as he leaned forward. "That is something new, what is it called, Kume?" He asked. "Is this between us, and only us Hokage?" I said in a serious voice as he smiled and nodded. "You are a talent of the Hidden Leaf Village, and it would be stupid to cut you off the branch before you grow healthy." He said.

"I named it the Senrigan, as for what it can do, I am still learning about it. But anyone I have laid my eyes on, I can spy on them from any distance away. I had let some of the thugs that were planning to ambush us go so I could find the leader and see how many more thugs they had. That is when I noticed Kasime." I said.

"Interesting, can I ask you something. Did you have this eye ability during the night five years ago?" He said. I see he must have realized that I had set up the pattern beforehand and used it that night. He must already believe I had foreseen the massacre that was about to happen.

"And if I did foresee it, will Izume be in trouble?" I said, making him raise an eyebrow. "You don't care about your own safety?" He asked. "I have more than enough power to protect myself," I said, releasing my chakra, making him stumble back. I remembered the first and second could do this, so it was something I bought before we left for the mission. He gulped as he muttered, "How?" I turned it off.

"I love this village, and I will protect it. But I also love many people within it, so if I need to protect them from the village, I will. I don't mind getting my hands dirty." I said just before the door opened, and he yelled out. "Do I give you all permission to enter?! Leave!" He yelled out as the Anbu stopped and then left.

"I will not hurt Izume. If I were going to, I wouldn't have let her live this long, you have my word, Kume." He said, making me sigh in relief. "Well then, we have no issue. I had gotten wind of the coup from Izume and had started watching the Uchiha when I noticed Itachi getting in contact with the masked man who had shown up at my house. I knew I needed to protect her, so I learned that sealing Jutsu." I said, pointing at the ground.

I bullshitted my way through it, and everything made sense, as if I knew more about this world than I should have. He nodded like everything was falling into place as he stroked his beard. "Very well, Kume. I will keep everything you told me between us, and I look forward to the great things to come from you." He said with a smile, pausing for a moment before speaking.

"I want to give you some information that I have gained, which involves one of your former students," I said, making him serious. "Go on." He said.

"During the time the sand village comes for the Chunin exam, he will try something. I think you should call your other students back," I said, making him sigh as he sat down. "How did you get this information?" He said, making me point at my eyes.

"I can see random glimpses of the future, and I see him wearing the Kazekage's outfit," I said, making him stroke his beard and speak. "What else did you see?" He asked. I would much rather have him alive than dead, at least for the meantime. Plus, this will get one of my targets back to the village sooner rather than later.

"I saw your death, Lord Hokage," I said, making him relight his pipe. "How accurate are these visions?" He asked. I shook my head before speaking. "I haven't seen anything dealing with me, so I don't know if they are accurate. But I don't think it's just a fluke that I see random visions." I said.

This is the perfect cover for using my future knowledge, leaving it to my Senrigan as an excuse, even though it can't see the future, only the past. "Thank you, Kume, for telling me this." He said before smiling at me gently. "You can go now." He said, and I bowed.

I left the office and was met by Kurenai, who smiled at me. "Did everything go alright?" She said as I nodded. "It's fine now, we are done with the Debriefing. Let's meet up with the twins and head to my house. My mother is cooking up a feast, and it's going to be a blast." I said with a smile as she nodded.

Little did she know, this would be the night of her first mistake, which would lead her into many more as she betrayed the man she loved. We met up with the twins as we headed to my house, arriving there by seven. I opened the door to see Mother and Izume.

They welcomed Kurenai as she greeted them, and my mother broke out the special drinks for Kurenai. They weren't just any regular drinks; I had my mother buy some very special herbs that I mixed together and soaked in the alcohol, before putting them back in the bottles.

I watched as she took the first sip under pressure from my mother and Izume, as a smirk formed on my face.
