"Yichen, I promise, it wasn't what you think!" I immediately waved my hand, dismissing his thoughts.
"Oh?" He hummed, the slamming shut behind him.
My cheeks burned with mortification. "Your mother and Lili, they wanted to see if the costume fit me on video call, they insisted I show them. I didn't mean anything by it!"
Mo Yichen's glare hardened as he cornered me to the wall, his jaw clenched as he looked into my eyes. His hand slid from my shoulder to my waist, his grip possessive but not painful.
His eyes then softened with genuine disappointment. "You can't seduce me?'
I shook my head vigorously again, feeling dizzy from the close proximity between us, why did he sound like he hated the fact that I said I wasn't seducing him?
He sighed, a deep, rough sound of profound let down. He released me, and the sudden loss of his warmth made the room feel cold. He looked at the other costumes with a look of curiosity in his eyes.
