William would excitedly open up the
[Title: Hog Slayer]
[Effects: You become excellent at cooking pork. You deal additional damage to Hogs and species related to hogs.]
'Wha-' William would be momentarily dumbfounded.
'I suppose we won't have to worry about how the pork will taste at least.'
William would brainstorm about all the ways to cook pork that he knew of, and that were available in Ancient Greece.
'Moving on....Let's see what my first skill is...'
[Skill: Bane of Existence Lv.1]
[Rank: S]
[Effects: You can manifest your will to inflict heavy damage or intimidate foes. This can also be used to magnify your own power.]
'That's a really versatile skill! Definitely gonna be using this a lot in the future.'
'This skill seems to require Ingenuity. So I'll definitely have to up that stat so I can use this and Helios's sun boon more easily.'
[100 Loreld has been invested into the Ingenuity stat!]
[Ingenuity Lv.0 ---> Lv.10!]
'I should increase the rest of the stats as well.'
[100 Loreld has been invested into Strength!]
[100 Loreld has been invested into Intelligence!]
[100 Loreld has been invested into Constitution!]
[Strength Lv.0--->Lv.10]
[Intelligence Lv.0--->Lv.10]
[Constitution Lv.0--->Lv.10]
When William finished inputting his lore into his stats, he would get a new message.
[You have met the requirements of an attribute!]
[Attribute: All-Rounder has been acquired!]
[Effects: A buff will be applied when the level of all your stats are equal!]
'What a coincidence. Who knew that being a perfectionist was so useful?'
With his new stats, he would carve out of the meat of the hogs he had slain, including the king, and put them in a sack, lugging it all the way back to the meeting point.
-----------------------------------------------------------
After walking for a long time, he finally made it back to the shore where Odysseus said to meet up at. It seemed he had arrived a bit early so he decided to test out his new skill in the meantime.
[Skill: Bane of Existence has been activated!]
A wispy smoke like force manifested infront of him, it was a gradient of black and white that gave off a feeling of power.
The elements of the world started to form around it as if being commanded to serve. The earth, wind, and water yieled to this mysterious force.
William would then quickly deactivate the skill, having seen enough for the time being. Also not wanting to accidentally show his captain the true extent of his brand new skill.
Then, he would decide to take a nap for the time being, to rejuvenate his body.
*Whoosh*
William's nap would be rudely interrupted by someone throwing dirt in his face.
After coughing and wiping his face clean, he would look up to see Odysseus standing before him with a slight hint of a grin on their face.
'This bastard...hes enjoying my suffering!'
"Hey there captain..."
William would reply weakly, still groggy from his interrupted nap.
Odysseus would look over to the sack next to William and nod approvingly.
-Good work on collecting food. I've prepared our ship, follow me.
William would oblige and follow his captain to their new ship, which he had docked closeby. Seemingly having sailed over here.
The ship was rather medium sized and was old-fashioned, nevertheless it did the job.
Once they got on board Odysseus would give him a basic rundown of the ships layout, which included a pantry, dining room, and cabin quarters for the crew. Afterwards he would point towards a large metallic looking cube.
-Put the food inside of there, it should refrigerate it.
'Seriously? A refrigerator in Ancient Greece? What's going on here?'
Despite his inner curiosity, he put the sack of meat in the metal cube without seeming too confused by it.
-Alright, lets set sail for Ithaca, my kingdom!
"Yes sir."
-----------------------------------------------------------
When the skies went dark, William offered to prepare dinner, to which Odysseus begrudgingly agreed to with a bit of banter. Perhaps he wanted to practice cooking skills to impress his wife?
Anyhow, William took out some basic seasonings and spices from the ship's pantry(which made William feel sorry for whoever's ship this was.), before activating an artifact Odysseus gave him that looked like a miniature fireplace called 'Stove of the Hearth' which was supposedly one of Hestia(Goddess of the Hearth)'s, with a bit of Ingenuity.
After he got it up and running, he would season the pork well, before rendering some of the fat into an old greek frying pan. Due to the effects of [Hog Slayer], he could sense the optimal path to cooking a perfect piece of pork. Lower the heat here, flip the meat, raise the heat, add spices...
When he finally finished, he would cut the piece of pork into two portions and hand one to Odysseus. Who had arrived in the dining room after smelling the aroma of the pork.
Odysseus would take a big bite out of the pork. Suddenly, his eyes widened, before scarfing down the rest of his portion extremely fast.
'Is this the lineage of the God of Speed at work?'
- Hol- A-ahem...this is really delicious! Good job Perimedes!
Odysseus would give him a thumbs up. Before heading out of the dining room. Most likely going to steer the ship.
'What a weird guy...'
-----------------------------------------------------------
After a rather uneventful two days of sailing, they had reached the island nation of Ithaca in the morning.
[Skill: Seafarer is active!]
Odysseus would make sure to sail in the blind spots of any watchtowers that may attempt to search for them. The main antagonists of this story were the 100 suitors of Odysseus's wife Penelope who wanted Odysseus dead. If they wanted to complete the story, they had to get past them all somehow.
Once they docked in a rather unknown part of the island near the palace, Odysseus would hand William a cloak, as it was time for them to sneak onto the island.
Odysseus, with a cloak of his own, and equipped with all sorts of weapons, would signal for William to follow him as he hopped off of the ship. From this distance, he was able to get a good view of the Palace. It was a massive building constructed out of stone. A symbol of the engineering skills of the Greeks.
At the gates to the main palace, a few guards discovered them and tried to stop them. But they were swiftly dealt with using a discreet bit of [Fire Manipulation].
They were in.
After making it to the main dining hall of the palace, where all the suitor's gathered for their meals, William decided to let Odysseus make their entrance. So he silently pushed the door open for Odysseus to enter.
*Swish*
*Thunk*
An arrow carrying 20 years of pain and suffering, found it's mark.
The most heinous and cruel out of all of the suitors, who was actively scheming with the rest of the suitors to kidnap Penelope and kill her and Odysseus's son Telemachus to steal the throne, the Ringleader, Antinous.
"Die."
And so it shall be.
