The arrow pierced the man's skull, and tolled the bell of judgment.
The suitors around the dying Antinous started to scream and panic, clearly not expecting the sudden ambush.
"Run! He's bac-
*Krrrrsh*
William and Odysseus began massacring the suitors using their respective abilities. With Will using fireballs and lasers, and Ody using pure martial prowess to defeat their enemies.
Whatever resistance the men tried to put up was quickly quelled by their adversary's sheer strength.
After not too long, they finished off the last man in the dining hall. Out of the 108 suitors of Penelope, they had finished off 98 of them. Leaving only twenty left.
In front of the two, a big wooden door closed them off from the real interior of the palace.
-Perimedes, this is the last hurdle. After this, our long journey will come to an end for good.
"It's been a pleasure, cap'n."
As they pushed open the doors, a strong gust of wind would rush past them. As if trying to escape from whatever lay within.
*Kreeeee!*
Inside was a medium-sized chamber, with 19 suitors standing in the shadows, and one man standing in the center of the chamber, looking right at the two intruders walking in.
William would recognize the man immediately, the other main suitor of Penelope, Eurymachus.
Eurymachus would calmly greet the intruders with a cold smile.
"Ah, it's nice to see you again, my dear King."
"Eurymachus..."
"This kingdom no longer requires someone like you as its ruler. Your blood is filthy; the amount of divinity in you is laughable."
As he said this, the symbol of a winged helmet would appear above Eurymachus's head. Hermes's symbol.
William would recall what Perimedes had said about names. The name Perimede meant cunningness, and they referred to themselves as both Perimede and Perimedes, so did that mean the names in this world could refer to the same person across multiple legends? In that case, Eurymachus here is most likely also....
Eurymachus, son of Hermes and father of Eriboea, mother of the Aloadae.
A Demi-God.
Perhaps even if the gods were fake, their canonical children still possessed divine abilities. Which meant that they were in for a hell of a boss fight. As they were only able to win against Poseidon because they found the weakness of the Trident. A demi-god wasn't restricted by a mortal vessel or a cursed object. Meaning they could use their abilities freely without any issues.

William, eyes showed with calculative brilliance as his attributes enhanced his cognitive ability.
Data and dimensions of everything inside the chamber and the chamber itself, as the information came flooding in, he would receive a system message.

[Skill: Insight has been activated!]
With the room fully scanned, he gained an omniscient perspective of anything and everything that occurred inside, allowing him to see the enemy's movements from every angle and perspective.
Eurymachus would suddenly appear in front of Odysseus and punch him square in the face, and appear back in the center of the chamber as if taunting the two of them.
Whilst Odysseus staggered from the extremely fast punch, William would activate [Light and Fire Manipulation] to weave an intricate design of fiery light, which resembled a sphere woven out of silk. An imitation of his Artificial Sun ability.
The sphere would fly at Eurymachus at light speed, something he couldn't dodge even if he tried, as with Insight active, he could predict the man's movements.
The impact force of his attack would send Eurymachus flying. To William's dismay, Eurymachus would simply dust off his clothes a bit and grin.
"Is that all you got? That's the effect of being a pitiful mortal; a god like me won't be defeated by your measly attacks."
[Attribute: Linguist assists in your speaking!]
"What kind of weird god complex do you have? You're not even a full god; half of you is the same as the rest of us. Demi-god."
It seemed his provocation was extremely effective as Eurymachus would speed at him with extreme speed, and with a dagger in hand, he would swing at William's head and.....hit.
But what he hadn't anticipated was that William had leaned back in preparation and allowed the person behind him to take the blow, a nameless suitor of Penelope.
While the inertia carried Eurymachus forward, William would strike from beneath with all he had
[Skill: Bane of Existence had been activated!]
His hand would glow with the wispy black and white force from earlier as he used his skill to magnify his own power and land a punch straight in Eurymachus's gut.
-Nothing personal.
The impact from the punch shattered the bones in William's right arm and sent Eurymachus straight to the roof of the chamber.
[Skill: Insight has been deactivated due to low Ingenuity reserves.]
William would clutch his right arm in pain while staring at Eurymachus's falling body.
'That was a tough fight.'
All of a sudden, William would get punched from behind, dealing heavy damage to his spine.
'Wha-'
He would turn his head and see Eurymachus standing there. With a cheeky grin on his face.
"Surely you didn't think you could deceive the descendant of the god of deceit, did you? What an ignorant mortal you are."
The falling body would phase out, an illusion.
"Says the god wannabe, what did your pops never teach you about proper respect? I bet he moved on from one girl to another at supersonic speeds. Leaving behind fatherless children who want their parents' approval."
[The Library of Alexandria is astounded at your insulting skills!]
[Skill: Criticism has been acquired!]
The man's eyes wavered, his body shook. As if frozen by the insult.
'Looks like I struck a nerve.'
"Y-You! What do you know about me? I'll kill you!"
Eurymachus's rage would swell up, turning his whole body bright red. He would get into a dashing stance, aiming straight for William.
*Krrrshk!*
And get stabbed in the face by an Odysseus who was waiting for the opportune moment to strike. Killing him instantaneously.
"Phew, close one there. You alright, Perimedes?"
"Yeah, thanks, captain."
With the main threat gone, William and Odysseus were able to make quick work of the remaining 19 suitors.
Their journey was finally over. They had overcome the final hurdle of their adventure.
Now all that was left was to reconcile with Penelope, and we'll finish the story...
Wait.
I still haven't found my own chronicle yet.

....
And, Odysseus. My "captain"
Why does he have all those relics and items, including the windbag?
Why does he act differently from the original story?
Why does he have weird habits unbefitting a greek king?
Who...is he.
