When I arrived, the shoot had already started. The female lead was in the middle of an emotional scene, and the director's eyes were glued to the monitor.
I quietly stood to the side. He hadn't even told me what role I was supposed to play—just that he had chosen me for a side character and called me here.
I waited beside him until the scene ended. When it finally did, his eyes drifted from the screen and landed on me.

I smiled—well, a fake one. Because seriously, who could smile naturally in such an awkward situation? He smiled back, just as fake, and rose from his chair.
"Call Lili and Olivier," he told one of the crew members.
Then Director Juan led me toward the resting area, where a large open tent stood. Inside, a few chairs and a table were set up. He sat down right away, while I awkwardly remained outside the tent.
