Caterina meaningfully stared at him. She sighed, crossing her arms. "Fine. When you do find her, make sure she's in the same vicinity as you and your lover. Use the red strings of fate—"
"Red strings of fate?"
"—Yes. Use it and go ahead and mark her." She tapped her neck where her pulse was pounding. "That is the only way to break a mate bond with the other party. And when you do it, the heavens will form a new bond between you and your lover, changing the initial fate and making her your mate."
Nikolas frowned. "Where am I supposed to find the red strings of fate? I've only ever heard of it, never seen it in the hundred and seventy five years of my life."
