Sabrina jolted to awareness. She quickly scrambled off him, reaching around to pick up her glasses and the documents that had spilled from her hands. "I'm sorry," she apologized shakily. "I'm really sorry about this!"
Tasso pushed himself up to his feet. He scanned himself, his face constricting a bit. "Who knows how many people have walked on this floor? Gross."
"I'm sorry…" Sabrina stared at him, now having gathered herself. "I didn't mean to bump into you."
"Bump? Hm." Tasso looked at her. He approached her suddenly, leaned in to peer intently at her face. His raven black lashes flickered and his pupils shrunk to pin size.
She wondered why he had that look on his face, as if he'd realised something horrifying. But then she heard him scoff. "Well, the heavens sure are messing around with me."
"Huh?"
