My boss stepped in, looking as smart as ever in his two-piece gray suit. His glasses were perched on the bridge of his nose as he stared at me with his jaw dropped.
I gave him no reaction. At least, I tried to pretend he didn't exist because my eyes were currently fixated on the person behind him.
Dominic. My husband. The man who had occupied my thoughts during my time in captivity. The only man I was interested in seeing at the moment.
My heart thumped as I took two steps towards him, pausing momentarily to catch my breath. I splayed my palm on my chest, forcing down a swallow as I took in his appearance.
Disheveled with hair scattered in all directions, eyes sunken as if he hadn't gotten any sleep for a while, and the top buttons of his shirt were undone, showing smooth skin.
He came out from behind my boss, his eyes still cold and staring intently at me.
