Chapter 175. Two-Player Tag Duel! Ptolemaeus Shouts "Za Warudo" and Leaves the Old Guard Stunned!

The strength of Gungnir, Dragon of the Ice Barrier has been thoroughly proven in this infinite loop.

Without a "once per turn" limit, it's absolutely a powerhouse utility Dragon for certain Decks.

Take this Infernity build, for example.

Without Gungnir, your resource-recovery line just dies on the spot.

Then pulling off infinite Trishula is basically impossible.

And your recovery combo can't chain into the Trishula combo at all.

Thinking of this, the Duelists couldn't help but sigh.

No wonder Gungnir needed usage restrictions.

If they didn't add limits—how is anyone supposed to play?

ZEXAL World.

Yuma Tsukumo, Astral, and the others still hadn't come back to their senses.

They were like they were still immersed in that earlier combo that enlightened them to an infinite loop.

"Is this possible? Is this reasonable?"

"Is this still a Duel?"

"Can this even be called a Duel?"

"My gosh!"

"It really can loop infinitely!"

"Insane!"

Kite Tenjo slowly let out a long breath.

Murmuring under his breath, pale-faced, he still couldn't believe the Infernity–Trishula combo he'd just understood.

"What are the Duelists from that higher plane even made of?"

"Who came up with this combo?"

"A genius! A total genius!"

Even Reginald "Shark" Kastle couldn't help complaining.

Once he truly understood it, the combo scared him too.

It's not one of those convoluted cycles.

It's a very simple loop.

As long as you're practiced, you can basically do it.

5D's World.

After watching the infinite Trishula combo, Sei Yuki, Jack, and Kyosuke Kiryu were completely numb.

All the Synchro-era Duelists never would've thought a perfectly fine Infernity Deck could be played with such cheeky lines and operations.

Wait, what?

Isn't this a Synchro Deck?

How did it become like this?

Sure, the Graveyard part is Synchro.

But the nature of the gameplay is totally different.

"Is this… satisfaction now?"

"I can't believe a Duel can be played like this."

"If I hadn't seen it with my own eyes,"

"I wouldn't know that Infernity in their world can pull off an incomprehensible infinite loop."

"..."

Kyosuke Kiryu muttered to himself, his voice filled with shock and disbelief.

VRAINS World.

As residents of a Link era, with this kind of combo breakdown in front of them, Yusaku Fujiki was even looking at the final short clip the way one appreciates a piece of art.

Yes—art.

This is art.

No wonder it can be dubbed the most perfect Infernity–Trishula infinite loop.

If it can really keep looping like that—so long as there's no time limit, and the opponent can't interrupt—then the opponent's hand is guaranteed to be stripped clean.

No matter how many cards—same result.

"Brilliant! Absolutely brilliant!"

"If only there were a monster that could banish cards from the Deck!"

"Then let Infernity loop infinitely!"

"Wouldn't that mean you could banish the opponent's entire Deck?"

Specter, however, came up with an even more out-there idea.

That made quite a few Link Duelists twitch at the corners of their mouths.

Good grief.

Specter's imagination goes even farther.

How could that be possible?

Main World.

After watching those Duels, Sei Yuki couldn't help feeling a bit sentimental.

Back then, Gungnir having no usage-count restriction truly was too busted.

Nowadays, you hardly even see it on the field, right?

Truly, times change, people change.

So many cards just sink into the vast sea of the Monster pool like that.

I wonder what other cards might shine once more.

"Hoo…"

"Forget it."

"Let's watch some exciting tag Duels next."

"Genius-packed tag Duels—consider it a breather."

Breathing out, Sei Yuki quickly started searching for the next short video.

Once he settled on it, the title popped up:

"Tag Duel One-Turn Limit! God Hand Crusher Shatters Fan-Works—Victory!"

Across all Duel Worlds, the very first thing to grab everyone's attention was the four characters "God Hand Crusher."

Because, instinctively, they all associated it with that Divine Card—Obelisk the Tormentor.

Could it be the short video to come has to do with a Divine Card?

Inside the short video, Duel info appeared.

Duelist A.

Duelist B (Blue).

Duelist C (Red).

Duelist D (Blue).

Both sides at 16,000 LP.

Shared Graveyard and banished zone.

Turn order proceeds A–B–C–D.

Duelist A: "My turn!"

Duelist A: "I Normal Summon Satellarknight Deneb!"

Duelist A: "I activate Deneb's effect to add a 'tellarknight' monster from my Deck to my hand!"

"Chain Link 2, I activate the effect of Satellarknight Vega in my hand to Special Summon it!"

"Deneb searches Satellarknight Unukalhai!"

"Vega's on-summon effect adds the Spell, Satellarknight Skybridge!"

"I overlay Deneb and Vega to build the Xyz Network!"

"Two Level 4 monsters on the field—here we go!"

"Xyz Summon—Tellarknight Constellar Caduceus!"

"I activate Caduceus's effect, banishing Satellarknight Alsahm from the Deck!"

"I detach one material to copy Alsahm's effect!"

"That lets me search up Tellarknight Constellar Caduceus—the monster!"

"I Special Summon this Tellarknight Constellar Caduceus to the field!"

"Activating its effect, I add the Continuous Spell Constellar Tellarknights from my Deck!"

"I activate Satellarknight Skybridge!"

"I return the Xyz Caduceus to the Extra Deck, then Special Summon Satellarknight Vega from the Deck!"

"Vega's effect—Special Summon Satellarknight Unukalhai from my hand!"

"Unukalhai's effect—send Tellarknight Altairan to the Graveyard!"

"I activate Constellar Tellarknights!"

"By its effect, I revive Deneb from the Graveyard!"

"Altairan's Graveyard effect—he leaps out to the field on his own!"

"At this moment, my field has five Level 4 monsters assembled!"

"Build the Xyz Network!"

"I use them all as materials!"

"Five Level 4 monsters!"

"Overlay—Tellarknight Constellar Caduceus!"

"Rank-Up Xyz Summon—Constellar Ptolemy M7!"

"By Constellar Tellarknights, I continue to Rank-Up on top of Ptolemy M7!"

"The true ace—Stellarknight Ptolemaeus!"

"I activate Ptolemaeus's effect!"

"I detach seven materials!"

"Effect—Za Warudo!"

"End of turn."

Opening lightning.

The clip had barely begun and every Duelist across every world was already dumbfounded.

They had just crawled out of the shadow of the infinite Infernity–Trishula loop, and now, after watching this Tellarknight/Constellar line go full throttle, their brains locked up again.

Especially when the plays culminated in filling five monster zones with Level 4s and maxing out the board, they felt their skin go numb.

What kind of bizarre Deck is this?

More importantly, this final ace Xyz, after a frenzy of Rank-Ups, needed to detach seven materials to activate an effect.

Are you kidding me?

Seven materials.

What effect could that even be?

ZEXAL World.

Kite Tenjo, Reginald Kastle, and the others were all at a loss.

This was their first time seeing an effect that required seven materials.

That's crazy.

Five Level 4s—

Isn't it better to make something else?

Why go into that boss?

And after painstakingly stockpiling resources, you send all the materials to the Graveyard just to use the effect.

What a waste.

But a second later, they didn't think that anymore.

Right as the turn should have passed to B (Blue), the system skipped B and went straight to C (Red).

Baffled.

Every Duelist was baffled.

Only then did they realize how terrifying that seven-material cost was.

The "Za Warudo" effect was finally clear as day.

It's an absurd ability that steals the opponent's turn.

B (Blue): "Hey! My turn's gone?!"

B (Blue): "Masaka!"

B (Blue): "I see! It's your ace monster's effect!"

C (Red): "Hahaha! Feels good, doesn't it?!"

C (Red): "My turn! Draw!"

"I Normal Summon Vanquish Soul Razen! After its effect, I add Vanquish Soul Caesar Valius to my hand from the Deck!"

"I Link Summon using Razen!"

"Arrow—confirm! Idol of the Duel God!"

"I activate Vanquish Soul Caesar Valius—bounce Razen to hand, then Special Summon Caesar Valius from my hand!"

"I enter the Battle Phase!"

"Caesar Valius and Stellarknight Ptolemaeus attack you directly!"

"Subtract 3550 from your LP!"

"My turn ends."

D (Blue): "My turn! Draw!"

D (Blue): "I activate Solar Recharge!"

"I discard a Lightsworn from my hand, then draw 2 cards and mill 2 cards from my Deck."

"I activate Charge of the Light Brigade!"

"I send the top 3 cards of my Deck to the Graveyard to add a Level 4 or lower Lightsworn from my Deck to my hand."

"Next I Normal Summon Evil Thorn!"

"I use its effect to Tribute itself—you lose 300 LP!"

"I Special Summon 2 Evil Thorn tokens from the Deck!"

C (Red): "I activate Idol's effect to perform a Quick Summon of Vanquish Soul Razen!"

C (Red): "I use Caesar Valius's effect—let me reveal the Maxx 'C' in my hand."

D (Blue): "It's useless! I activate the Spell, The Breaking Ruin God!"

D (Blue): "Its effect is—"

"I can Special Summon Obelisk the Tormentor from my hand or Graveyard."

"A monster Special Summoned by this effect is unaffected by your effects this turn."

"Come, my God Card Deck! I stake it on this destined victory!"

"Yo! Obelisk the Tormentor!"

"I activate Obelisk's effect—Tribute 2 monsters!"

"Destroy all monsters you control!"

"God Hand Crusher!!"

"At the same time, I banish The Breaking Ruin God from my Graveyard!"

"I banish all monsters in your Graveyard!"

"You have 11 total in your Graveyard—take 5500 damage!"

"My turn ends."

"Because of the God's Summoning restriction—if this card was Special Summoned and is on the field, during the End Phase it must be sent to the Graveyard."

"Your move!"

As expected, the instant D unleashed that God-tier visual spectacle, all Duel Worlds boiled over.

Even though the Gods aren't invincible in the higher planes, a God is a God, and a God Card is a God Card.

That shock and that Divine pressure are unquestionable.

And this combo line made Seto Kaiba in the DM World shudder all over again.

Obelisk the Tormentor's God Hand Crusher.

If it were his Obelisk, this Duel might have ended right here.

Yugi Muto and the Pharaoh Atem inside him stared blankly at the combo pairing.

God Hand Crusher, huh…

So that power has been turned into a Spell to supplement it?

It's flashy, sure, but here's the problem.

Blue's field is completely empty.

That's dangerous.

And Red still has one monster surviving.

That monster is completely unaffected by the God's destruction.

That card is Vanquish Soul Caesar Valius.

GX World.

Jaden Yuki and company couldn't believe a card could ignore a God's destruction.

Only when they checked the effect did they finally understand.

Caesar Valius has a mode: during either player's turn, you reveal monsters of specified Attributes in your hand and choose one effect.

If it's EARTH, then for this turn, this face-up card is unaffected by effects activated by your opponent.

That resistance surpassed even the God's destruction this turn.

No wonder it was still on the field.

Duelist A: "My turn! Draw!"

D (Blue): "I activate Maxx 'C'!"

Duelist A: "I Normal Summon Satellarknight Vega!"

Duelist A: "Vega's effect—Special Summon Satellarknight Unukalhai from my hand!"

Duelist A: "Unukalhai's effect—send Tellarknight Altairan to the Graveyard!"

"Overlay the two monsters on the field!"

"Come forth—Tellarknight Constellar Caduceus!"

"Enter Battle Phase!"

"Caduceus and Caesar Valius attack you directly!"

"You take 5500 total damage!"

"Main Phase 2!"

"I activate Constellar Tellarknights to Rank-Up Xyz!"

"Constellar Pleiades."

"I Set 2 cards!"

"My turn ends!"

B (Blue): "Finally, my turn! Draw!"

B (Blue): "You 'Za Warudo'-ed me out of a turn earlier!"

Duelist A: "I flip the Continuous Trap—Summon Limit!"

Duelist A: "This turn, if a player has successfully performed a total of 2 or more Normal, Flip, or Special Summons, that player cannot Normal, Flip, or Special Summon monsters anymore."

B (Blue): "What the—! You actually packed that?!"

B (Blue): "Fine, fine! You want to restrict me, huh?"

"I Normal Summon Mekk-Knight Orcust Girsu!"

"I have Revolution Synchron in my hand—when Synchro Summoning a Power Tool Synchro or a Level 7 or 8 Dragon Synchro, I can use it from my hand as Synchro Material."

"I Tuner Revolution Synchron in hand with Girsu on the field for a Synchro Summon!"

"3 + 4 = Level 7!"

"Come forth—Black Rose Dragon!"

"Blooming rose—blow it all away!"

"I activate Black Rose Dragon's effect!"

"Destroy every card on the field!"

The board-breaker has arrived.

Seeing this card, Aki Izayoi revealed a relieved smile.

At times like this, you've got to rely on her Black Rose Dragon.
