Pov: Eirian
Getting out of the truck, I stretched my arms and met with the fierce cold that blew through the country all year round. The ride was long, taking us through the whole capital and then further north. This was the furthest I'd have ever been from the battlefield. We weren't as far north as Amiel was, but rather between him and the capital.
When arriving, it looked like we had arrived at a nobleman's manor. Plants covered in frost were everywhere as a brick path led us up to the manor.
Off in the distance, a man dressed like a butler made his way towards us. "Welcome back, sir." He bowed slightly with a cloth over his arm. "Your rooms are all ready if you would like me to take you to them."
'He must be a noble...' I thought as I stared off, thinking how expensive this place must have been.
"Take them," He turned his head to look back at us. "Let them settle in, but bring them to the back in an hour. I'll start figuring out what to start with first."
"Of course, sir." The butler looked at us. "Then let me lead the way."
"I will see you in a bit," Luean said, walking away.
As Luean strayed off, the butler made his way through the doors, leading us down different hallways where multiple bedrooms, offices, and many other luxurious rooms I couldn't even imagine. Walking past one of the rooms, he had one full of different liquors. I couldn't imagine how one could drink so much.
There were barrels running across each wall, stacked on top of each other. All marked and organized. As my eyes twitched when I fell upon the room, I thought 'What the heck...'
"Come on, keep following." The butler let out. Ael and Eira were already gone as they were guided to their own rooms beforehand. They were far, but far enough for us to have to walk for a minute. Running to catch up to the butler, I am shoulder to shoulder with them.
As I am, I started to notice his features. He was well-maintained, shaved, and kept an upright posture. His hair had turned gray due to old age, and the way he spoke was well-mannered.
"This is your room," he pointed through. "I will come to get you in an hour.
"Thank you," I said as he walked away. Turning to look back at my room, one lone bed stood on the right side of the wall. A desk against the wall across from me, and some shelves on the wall with some books.
As I walked into the room, I fell straight into bed, and as I closed my eyes, the world faded.
The sound of water echoed in the abyss. I seemed to be back in my sanctuary for some apparent reason. Even when I had not prayed to the goddess herself. Looking around, I heard no voice. "Hello?"
The goddess's voice didn't welcome me as it usually did.
Walking back up to the altar, I come face-to-face with the book on it. As it opened up in front of me, I saw the same stats from before.
Rank: Servant
Class: Knight
Titled: Light bringer
Attributes: [Loved]
Miracle: Light Miniplation
Minor Miracle: Light absorption
Class Abilities: Light's Edge
But just as I read my stats again, the page flipped again. At the top, it read attributes like a title. Below it, I could see [Loved] with faded words following along it.
"Huh?" I let out, confused.
The words seemed like ink that had faded over time. There was a description of the attribute, but something was blocking me from reading it.
Curious, I flipped to the next page to see if there was more. When I do, I find my Miracles. Following it below were the descriptions.
Miracle: Light Manipulation - Can control and use light.
Minor Miracle: Light absorption - Can absorb light and heal over time.
When I flipped to the next page one more time, I was met with Class Abilities on the top with Light's Edge below it. Next to it, I find a description of it as well.
"Can use to let out a slash of light as well as imbue it into a weapon." I read slowly, out loud, with my finger following along.
"Was this always here?" I questioned, "Well, that would have been useful earlier. I only knew I could do such a thing based on how the ability acted."
Looking around once more, I wonder where Fey is. When I did, I could hear the slight humming of the abyss. It felt quiet. A place for only me and my thoughts. "Normally, she is here ready to talk. Is she busy with her duties?" I paused for a moment, thinking. "How does that even work?"
