Miras, walking over to the horse's corpse, poked it to confirm the kill with an X gesture. "It's dead," he said, while looking at Mattias.
Mattias, letting out a sigh of relief, said, "That was a close call."
"Tell me about it," Miras said, picking up his feather. "Oh, and how did you know my feather was sharp enough to kill it, leaving the fact that the horse thing was just stupid?"
Mattias, rubbing his chin, let out a sheepish smile. "I just guessed. To be specific, we would have died if I was wrong."
"WHAT THE HE—" Miras shouted, then flexed his fingers. "I should kill you for taking my feather, but I guess it works."
Mattias, rubbing the back of his neck, said, "No complaints from me."
"Anyways, we can't leave this thing here because it will attract other horrors," Miras said, thinking about what to do.
Mattias sighed, looking at it. "We can't carry it since we both lack the energy to move it."
"Oh yes, thank you for reminding me," Miras said, using the feather to cut off the hoof of the horse thing.
Mattias, looking at him cut the horse, couldn't help but get curious. "Are you going to eat it raw?"
The idea almost making Miras vomit. "I am many things, but not a mindless animal."
Mattias, confused, stared at him. "You're not supposed to eat it raw. That's weird. Till now, most horrors just ate each other."
Miras, stopping to cut the hoof off, coughed to clear his throat. "Mattias, did you eat horror flesh raw?"
Mattias, looking away, sweating, replied, "No, not even a single bite."
Miras, laughing at him, said, "Well, that's gross." He resumed cutting off the hoof. "Seriously though, don't eat it raw again. It tastes horrible."
Mattias, embarrassed, said, "I don't know what you're talking about."
Miras, smirking, cut off the hoof and threw the bloody feather to Mattias.
"Yeah, keep telling yourself that," Miras said as he began walking.
Mattias, running after him, looked at the hoof. "How will you cook it?"
Miras, smirking at the question, said, "Using a stove, what else?"
Mattias swallowed as he blinked to make sure he heard right. "What do you mean, stove?"
"Exactly what I said, a stove," Miras said, smirking.
After several minutes, Mattias spoke, "Does that mean we are going to a settlement?"
Miras, looking at Mattias as if a mad person, said, "No. Remember, I told you I have no idea where we are, so unless you know any, we are just going to build our own."
Mattias, exhaling in disappointment, said, "I got my hopes up for nothing."
"I never told you to. Whatever, we don't have for this," Miras said, looking up as a storm brewed.
Mattias muttered something under his breath, looked up, and couldn't help but be stunned in awe. Mattias, just looking at the storm brewing, was getting left behind by Miras.
Miras, calling him from a distance, shouted, "WHAT ARE YOU DOING? START RUNNING!!!"
Mattias, snapping back to reality, was confused why Miras was running so fast. (Thinking: Wasn't he just hungry and exhausted?)
As he thought it, he heard a loud sound. Looking to his right, he saw lightning shine bright, feeling a wave of wind hit him. As he started chasing after Miras, he saw more and more drop.
Mattias, breathing heavily, said, "What the actual…"
"Ahhhh, damnit!" Mattias yelled. "You shitty place, why are you trying to kill me?"
The sky above flickered again, and a bolt fell behind him.
"Hey, Miras, wait up," Mattias said, running as fast as he could.
Mattias frowned, as he knew he wouldn't be able to outrun this storm.
(Thinking to himself: Faster. I need to go faster.)
