WHITEBEARD PIRATES
"Teach killed Thatch!" Ace roared, slamming his fist into the railing so hard it cracked. "He betrayed our family for a damned Devil Fruit!"
The crew went silent. Even the waves seemed to pause.
Whitebeard sat on his throne-like chair, watching Ace tremble with anger. "So that fool Teach finally showed his true colors…" he rumbled, his voice low and grave.
Ace turned to Whitebeard, his voice pleading. "Pops! Please… let me go after him. I'll bring him back or kill him if I have to!"
Before Whitebeard could respond, a cry broke through the tension.
"Seagulls! A ton of them... look at that!" yelled Vista, pointing to the sky.
Dozens of newspaper seagulls were flying around, which meant there was big news. One of them swooped down toward Marco.
Marco handed over the money and bought ten newspapers.
The pirates exchanged confused looks. "What the? Why so many at once? Give me one of those," said Jozu.
Ace grabbed a paper from Marco, frowning. "Must be something big…"
Then he froze. His eyes widened in disbelief.
Across the front page, bold headlines screamed:
"MONKEY D. LUFFY — SON OF THE REVOLUTIONARY DRAGON!"
"STRAND OF BLOODLINE SHOCKS THE WORLD!"
Beneath it was a picture of Luffy grinning like an idiot, standing beside Dragon and a strange crew.
The paper slipped from Ace's fingers, fluttering in the wind.
"Luffy…? My little brother… the son of Dragon?!" Ace muttered, stunned.
The Whitebeard Pirates erupted in disbelief.
"Wait... that Dragon? The Revolutionary leader?!"
"His son's a pirate?!"
"What kind of family is this?!"
Marco leaned over Ace's shoulder, smirking faintly as he read. "Hah… so that's the kid you've been talking about, huh, Ace? Guess the world just found out he's got one crazy family."
Ace still stared blankly at the photo. "I never knew… I didn't even know who his father was…"
Whitebeard let out a deep, booming laugh that shook the ship. "Gurararara! So, the son of Dragon and the grandson of Garp sails the seas as a pirate! What a wild family indeed!"
Marco crossed his arms with a grin. "A revolutionary for a father, a Marine hero for a grandfather… and now a pirate for a grandson. The World Government must be losing its mind."
The entire crew burst into laughter at that, while Ace rubbed the back of his neck with an awkward smile.
"Luffy… you really don't make life easy for anyone," he muttered under his breath.
Whitebeard's laughter finally subsided. He looked down at Ace, his expression turning serious again. "Ace. About Teach…"
Ace lifted his head.
"Go," said Whitebeard, his voice deep and heavy with resolve. "Bring that traitor back. But remember... don't die, y'hear?"
Ace grinned, fire dancing in his eyes once more. "Heh. You got it, Pops."
REVOLUTIONARY ARMY BASE — BALTIGO
The Revolutionary Army's base in Baltigo was normally calm and disciplined, but now the soldiers looked at each other in disbelief, clutching newspapers with trembling hands.
The headline screamed across the front page:
"MONKEY D. DRAGON'S SON REVEALED — MONKEY D. LUFFY, THE STRAW HAT PIRATE!"
Beneath it was a photo of Luffy grinning ear to ear, straw hat tilted slightly, standing beside Dragon himself.
In the command room, Sabo froze as he stared at the photo. His hands shook, the paper crumpling slightly between his fingers. "No way… this can't be…"
Koala, standing beside him, frowned in confusion. "Sabo? What's wrong?"
But Sabo didn't answer. His breath came in short, uneven gasps. Something inside him snapped, a flood of memories crashing through his mind all at once.
Two boys laughing in the woods.
A tiny treehouse.
A promise sealed with brotherhood.
"Luffy… Ace…" Sabo whispered, eyes wide, tears falling before he even realized it. "Luffy! My little brother… he's alive! No... it was me who lost my memory!"
Koala's eyes widened. "Brother?! You mean…?"
Sabo clutched his chest and fell to one knee, overwhelmed by the surge of emotion and the flood of long-lost memories. "I remember now… I had brothers, Ace and Luffy! I… I forgot everything when I lost my memory, but now.... now it's all back!"
Koala quickly crouched beside him. "Sabo…"
He wiped his tears roughly, taking a deep breath before standing. "Dragon-san… he never told us he had a son. But that's not what matters right now. Luffy's alive. He's made a name for himself and he's the son of my savior."
Koala nodded slowly, still processing everything. "But the army's in chaos, Sabo. Everyone panicking. They think this news will hurt Dragon reputation."
Sabo straightened, his expression hardening. "Then we'll fix that... right now."
Moments later, the Revolutionary Army's main conference room was filled. Commanders and officers from across the world joined via private trans-Den Den Mushi. The atmosphere was thick with confusion and tension.
"What is this, Sabo?! Is it true?" one commander demanded. "The son of our leader is a pirate?!"
"Not just any pirate," said another grimly.
Sabo slammed his hands on the table, silencing the room. "Enough."
All eyes turned toward him.
"Yes," he said, voice steady and firm. "It's true. Monkey D. Luffy is Dragon's son. But that doesn't change who Dragon is or what we stand for."
He let the words hang in the air before continuing. "Dragon didn't raise Luffy because it would've put his son in danger. So Luffy grew up free, choosing his own path—to become a pirate. If Dragon had kept him close, the World Government would've used him as a weakness. And look at what Luffy's done, he's freed islands, toppled tyrants, and fought against corruption. Whether you realize it or not, he's doing exactly what the Revolution stands for."
A murmur spread through the crowd.
Koala stepped forward beside him. "Sabo's right. The world may see a scandal—but we see proof. Proof that our leader has inspired others to fight for freedom."
Sabo nodded, his eyes fierce. "Dragon won't turn against the Revolution. He's not that kind of man. We stay focused. We keep moving forward. Let the World Government panic all they want."
After the meeting, Sabo stood on the balcony overlooking the sea. The paper fluttered in his hand... Luffy's smiling face staring back at him.
"Luffy… after all this time," he whispered, smiling through his tears. "You're really out there… chasing your dream of becoming Pirate King."
Koala walked up beside him with the others. "So… what now?"
Sabo's gaze turned distant, toward the horizon. "We find Dragon. He's bound to make a move after this much exposure. My guess is he'll stop at Cactus Island before heading deeper into the Grand Line."
Koala blinked. "Cactus Island? Why there?"
"Because it's one of the first islands on the Grand Line," Sabo said. "And if he's traveling with Luffy now… that's where he'd go first."
He turned to Koala and Hack, determination burning in his eyes. "I'm heading there. I want to see him, with my own eyes."
Koala smiled softly, understanding. "Then we're coming with you. Right, Hack?"
The fish-man revolutionary gave a small nod. "Of course. Wouldn't want you crying again, Sabo."
Sabo laughed weakly, brushing away his tears. "You two never let me live anything down."
As the revolutionary ship sailed out under the rising sun, the world itself seemed to tremble with anticipation.
