Chapter 160 - Chapter 9: Miach

In the world of Demon Slayer, the weapons used by swordsmen were called Nichirin blades.

They were forged from Scarlet Crimson Iron Sand and Scarlet Crimson Ore.

Materials that absorbed sunlight.

They were the only weapons capable of harming demons, and their color changed based on the user's attributes.

Emiya wasn't interested in the ores themselves.

But he had promised Hephaestus that he would bring back rare materials from other worlds.

Scarlet Crimson Iron Sand and Scarlet Crimson Ore were clearly unusual.

Since he had encountered them, there was no reason to let the opportunity pass.

The two examiners exchanged glances and nodded.

"Alright."

Emiya smiled.

"Excellent. In that case, I can tell you why I can kill demons without a Nichirin blade."

As soon as he finished speaking, the Greed Dragon appeared above his head.

"A dragon..."

"It's a dragon!"

Aside from the few who had already seen Emiya's Nen Beast, most people were so frightened they collapsed on the spot.

The few who remained standing trembled uncontrollably.

The two examiners were startled as well, but they quickly steadied themselves.

"Is that a real dragon?" asked the man dressed as a woman, the future head of the Demon Slayer Corps.

Emiya shook his head.

"It's not a real dragon. It's a Nen Beast I created."

"What is Nen?"

"A supernatural power that allows the manipulation of life force."

The man's eyes lit up.

Almost glowing.

"Can humans learn this power?"

"Yes," Emiya replied.

"Then-"

Emiya raised his hand and casually ruffled the man's hair, cutting him off.

"I know what you want to ask. But this kind of thing isn't cheap."

"If you want to learn it, you'll need to offer something of equal value."

The man nodded.

"I'll consult with the family head."

"I'll wait for your answer," Emiya said.

He then bent down and casually picked up a piece of Scarlet Crimson Iron Sand.

"As agreed, I'll take this."

One piece was enough.

He would show it to Hephaestus first.

If she wanted more, he could always return and purchase a large amount from the Demon Slayer Corps.

After all, they had existed for over a thousand years.

Nichirin blades and Scarlet Crimson Iron Sand had never run out.

Clearly, this material wasn't considered rare in this world.

After Emiya made his selection, the remaining qualified candidates were guided by the examiners.

Each chose an ore to forge their own Nichirin blade.

With that, the Final Selection at Mount Fujikasane came to an end.

Emiya took Kamado Tanjiro and left the mountain.

Tanjiro was anxious to return home.

So Emiya simply lifted him with Nen and flew into the sky.

"We're flying! We're flying!" Tanjiro shouted, staring at Emiya in awe.

He could fly.

Carry someone.

Even introduce him to a god.

"Emiya-san... are you a god?"

"I'm not," Emiya replied. "But I do know a few."

"Now stop talking. Where's Mount Sagiri?"

Tanjiro pointed.

"That way."

"Got it."

Emiya waved his hand.

They shot forward like an arrow.

The ground blurred beneath them.

A journey that would have taken days was reduced to hours.

Two hours later, Tanjiro spotted Mount Sagiri.

"There! That's it!"

He pointed at a small hut on the mountainside.

That was where his master lived.

His sister was sleeping inside.

They descended.

Tanjiro's excited voice quickly drew someone out.

Sakonji Urokodaki stepped outside.

When he saw the two figures descending from the sky, he froze.

"Master! I'm back!"

Tanjiro landed and ran straight to him.

Sakonji Urokodaki pulled him into a tight embrace.

"It's good you're back. It's good..."

Since retiring, he had trained many disciples.

Most of them had died during Final Selection.

Only the current Water Pillar had survived.

It had made him question himself.

When Tanjiro left for the exam, he had been plagued by worry.

Now, seeing him return safely-descending from the sky, no less-the weight finally lifted.

After the initial emotion passed, Sakonji calmed down.

He looked at Emiya.

Confused.

Tanjiro hurriedly explained.

"This is Emiya-san. I met him at Mount Fujikasane."

"He's incredible. He knows gods. He can even introduce me to one who can cure Nezuko."

Sakonji was silent.

If he hadn't seen Emiya descend from the sky himself, he would have assumed Emiya was a fraud.

In the end, he welcomed Emiya inside and served tea.

The three sat facing one another.

After a long pause, Sakonji finally spoke.

"Do gods truly exist?"

He had fought demons countless times.

Killed many before retiring.

Even some of the Lower Moons had fallen by his hand.

And yet, he had never seen a god.

Not once.

Sometimes, he wondered whether the gods and Buddhas had abandoned this world.

Otherwise, why would something like Muzan Kibutsuji exist?

Emiya took a sip of tea.

"To be honest, I don't know if gods exist in this world."

"But they do exist in other worlds."

"Other worlds..."

Sakonji fell silent.

So the gods had left this world.

That was his conclusion.

"I understand," Sakonji said slowly. "I'll entrust Nezuko to you."

Tanjiro immediately knelt.

"Please. I beg you. Save my sister."

Emiya nodded.

"Alright. Bring her."

"We're going to meet a god."

In the original timeline, Tanjiro's long journey back meant Nezuko woke up shortly after.

This time, because they flew back, she was still asleep.

Emiya created a light-proof box and placed Nezuko inside.

He told Tanjiro to carry it on his back.

Then, he brought them to another world.

The DanMachi world.

Tanjiro felt a flash of light.

Then he was standing in a fantasy city.

Beast-people.

Elves.

Dwarves.

"Welcome to the Dungeon City of Orario, Kamado Tanjiro."

To ensure communication, Emiya shared his language comprehension with him.

"E-Emiya-sama... where is this?"

"As I said. Orario."

"A city where gods, humans, elves, dwarves, and beast-people live together."

Emiya began walking.

"I'm taking you to see a goddess."

Tanjiro straightened instinctively.

"Yes!"

They soon arrived at the Hephaestus Familia.

Inside her office, Hephaestus looked up.

"It's been a while, Hephaestus."

She set her documents aside.

Her eyes fixed on Emiya's hand.

"Looks like you brought something good."

"As expected of the Forging Goddess."

Emiya placed the Scarlet Crimson Iron Sand on the desk.

"This is from his world."

"Scarlet Crimson Iron Sand."

"It comes from the mountain closest to the sun. It seems to absorb sunlight."

Hephaestus picked it up and examined it carefully.

She flicked it with her finger.

The sound was crisp.

Pleasant.

"It's excellent metal."

"Is this the only piece?"

"No. I only brought one for inspection."

"If you like it, I can arrange a large trade."

Hephaestus answered immediately.

"I want to meet them in person."

"No problem."

"When do we start?"

"Not yet."

Emiya gestured to Tanjiro.

"This is Kamado Tanjiro."

"His sister was infected with demon blood and turned into a demon."

"He wants to turn her back into a human."

Tanjiro immediately performed a deep bow.

"Please help us, Goddess-sama."

Hephaestus waved her hand.

"I'm just a blacksmith."

Tanjiro's expression fell.

Emiya spoke up.

"I know you're not skilled in medicine."

"But Orario has no shortage of gods."

"If I remember correctly, Miach is a highly skilled Healing God."

Hephaestus understood immediately.

"So you want me to introduce you?"

Emiya nodded.

"You and Miach are friends, right?"

"Yes. But Hestia is even closer to him."

Emiya snapped his fingers.

"Then let's reserve a private room at the Goddess' Feast."

"Have Hestia invite Miach."

Hephaestus nodded.

"That should work."

"Given his personality, he won't refuse."
