"What did you say?"

Ezio, an Elder of the High Table, looked at his subordinate in shock. "Say that again!"

"Elder..." The subordinate knelt on the ground and reported. "The Rome Adjudicator was shot and killed by the original Rome Continental Hotel owner, Gaius, while announcing a new owner."

"...Inside the Continental Hotel?" Ezio paused and asked.

"Yes," the subordinate nodded. "And after that, the Rome Continental Hotel owner, Gaius, publicly announced that he would be joining the Templar Knights. The local Moles organization also joined them and began a purge of the Hawkeye organization... which suffered heavy losses."

"What about our people?" Ezio asked.

"The elite unit was deployed, but soon... that lightning, the same lightning that appeared in New York, appeared again, and it was a massacre. It wiped out the entire unit that was sent there."

"It's him again, Morin... it's the Sword of Eden again..." Ezio took a deep breath, closed his eyes, and then opened them again.

"Send more people. Use overwhelming firepower. I don't believe he can just walk through a hail of bullets!"

"Also... tell the men to prepare the missiles. If this batch is also wiped out, launch them directly and destroy that entire area."

"Elder..." The subordinate looked up, his eyes wide, unable to believe the order he had just heard.

"Are you questioning me?" Ezio's cold eyes swept over him.

The attendant trembled and quickly lowered his head. "I wouldn't dare."

"Then get out and do your job!" Ezio roared in a fit of rage.

Watching his subordinate quickly leave, Ezio's chest heaved. He took deep breaths, trying to calm himself down, but the hot desert air only made him more irritated.

"Damn it!"

Ezio waved his hand and sat back down in his chair.

Didn't he know the consequences of using missiles?

It was tantamount to breaking the agreement between the High Table and the government!

But if he didn't act, Ezio knew exactly what would happen if things continued this way.

To be honest, he would rather have heard that the Rome Continental Hotel was taken out by Morin single-handedly than to hear the news of their betrayal!

What was this?

Every time he went to a new place, a Continental Hotel would pledge allegiance to the Templar Knights?

The Continental Hotels were the core organization of the High Table!

The core organizations were all defecting. Didn't that mean that even the Continental Hotels, which were the core of the High Table, felt that the High Table couldn't win this fight and were now switching sides?

Ezio knew that in the eyes of most people, the High Table still had the upper hand in this conflict with the Templar Knights.

That's why they hadn't gotten involved or helped, because they were afraid the High Table would retaliate later.

But if they all started to think that the High Table was at a disadvantage, that would be a huge problem!

Ezio had no doubt that other forces would rush in to get a piece of the pie.

If other forces also got involved, the High Table would definitely be overwhelmed and unable to win.

So, Ezio had to put an end to this matter. He had to show the High Table's determination and that he would absolutely not allow any more Continental Hotels or affiliated organizations to defect to the Templar Knights!

The New York Continental Hotel was one thing. America was powerful and controlled things tightly, so the High Table couldn't launch missiles. But in Rome, the High Table had the power to do it!

After a moment of thought, Ezio waved his hand and had a subordinate bring in the captive, Sloan.

"Morin has appeared again, and he has the Sword of Eden with him. He wiped out another High Table unit," Ezio said.

"How much do you know about the Sword of Eden?"

"All I know is... the sword can produce electricity and it's very sharp," Sloan frowned and replied.

"And... it might be able to enhance a person's physical abilities? Otherwise, with just electricity, that Mr. Morin couldn't have wiped out an entire army."

"Did I ask you to come here to tell me these useless things? Of course I know it's because of the Sword of Eden!"

Ezio said with disdain. "Are you going to tell me he was born with that ability? Even if he's an Assassin Grandmaster or has special blood, he's still human. He has a physical limit!"

"You're right," Sloan nodded and didn't argue. "Then, honored Elder, you've held me captive for so long, and you've called me here. It's not just to chat, is it?"

"Of course not. I'm not that idle," Ezio waved his hand, and his attendant brought the bronze box from before and took out the Apple of Eden from inside. "Tell me how to use this."

Ezio believed that Morin's performance was a result of the Sword of Eden's enhancement, so he had become curious about the Apple of Eden.

He wanted to master the Apple of Eden!

"...I told you before that you need Assassin blood," Sloan shook his head. "You can't do it, and you're not willing to let me try. What can I do?"

The two looked at each other for a while. Ezio then took a dagger from his waist. "Give me your hand."

As he spoke, an attendant brought a table over and placed it between them. On the table were two plates: one was empty, and the other had a transparent liquid in it.

"I'm already so old. I can't take this kind of pain anymore," Sloan's eye twitched, but he still extended his hand and placed it on the empty plate.

He had no way of resisting; he was a fish on the chopping block.

However...

Sloan's eyes moved slightly, and he controlled his expression so that Ezio wouldn't notice anything unusual.

"Don't worry, it's just a small cut..."

Ezio first dipped the dagger into the transparent liquid, then took it out and, without hesitation, made a cut on Sloan's hand that was on the empty plate.

Blood gushed out, flowing and dripping onto the plate, spreading in a pattern.

"That's enough," Sloan said, enduring the pain.

"Stop the bleeding," Ezio signaled his subordinate to stop Sloan's bleeding. He then picked up the plate of blood and walked over to the Apple of Eden.

After a moment of hesitation, he tilted the plate slightly.

The blood dripped.

And then...

Nothing happened.

"..." Ezio was silent for two seconds, then he threw the plate aside.

"Don't stop his bleeding anymore."

Sloan: "???"

"Nothing happened," Ezio turned around and looked at Sloan coldly, without any mercy.

"You're of no use."

The attendant followed Ezio's order and came to restrain Sloan, planning to take him away and let him bleed to death.

Just then, a golden light appeared, drawing everyone's attention.

Ezio turned around and saw that the golden light was coming from the Apple of Eden!

Ezio reached out and grabbed the Apple of Eden.

The golden light, which had only been coming from a small point on the apple, gradually grew until the entire Apple of Eden was glowing!

Ezio looked at the glowing Apple of Eden. He stared directly at it without feeling any eye strain. He gradually became entranced, as if he was seeing an ocean of knowledge.

Just then, the golden light suddenly contracted, then burst forth!

Morin frowned. He saw that the Sword of Eden in his hand was glowing with an unusual light.

Before he could figure out what was going on, another group of High Table armed personnel arrived. Morin had no choice but to go and fight them.

"What's going on..."

For some reason, as Morin was pondering, he suddenly remembered the words in the parentheses that the system had given him when he first got the Sword of Eden

"Didn't expect it, did you? I'm back!"

Morin pondered if there was a hidden meaning in those words as he weaved and danced through a hail of bullets.

In an ancient temple buried deep underground and unknown to anyone.

Darkness and deathly silence had long engulfed this place.

But at this moment, in the darkness, three spherical objects began to emit a golden light, as if they had been activated by something, illuminating the surroundings.

They were three Apples of Eden!

In the center of the three apples, a woman lay peacefully, as if asleep, completely motionless.

She wasn't even breathing.

Then, a scepter the woman was holding also began to glow.

Under the light of the scepter, the woman's hand suddenly trembled.

A few attendants with guns ran toward the tent. They had also noticed what was going on.

But when they rushed into the tent, they found that everything was normal, except for the Apple of Eden in Ezio's hand, which was faintly glowing.

"Get out," Ezio looked at the few attendants who had just come in and said coldly.

"Our apologies, Elder..." The attendants looked at each other and then left.

"Give him a bandage," Ezio ordered the attendant inside the tent.

Strangely, Sloan didn't seem surprised at all. He looked up, a golden light flashing in his eyes, and smiled. "Hello, Elder."

"Hello," a golden light also flashed in Ezio's eyes. His expression was a little dazed, but he still said in a respectful tone, "Mr. Sloan."

The other attendants didn't react at all to this strange conversation and continued to do what they were told.

A golden light flashed in their eyes at the same time!

Sloan smiled triumphantly.

The records he had read in the ancient texts were not wrong. The Golden Apple needed Assassin blood to be activated, and once activated, you could use the Apple of Eden to control people's minds!

At the same time.

In the collapsed underground temple, the woman opened her eyes, sat up, and a golden light shone from her eyes, as if she were a goddess.

In her hand was a scepter. At the top of the scepter, two snakes were intertwined, connected under a hawk with spread wings.

"They're back... how is this possible?"
