"DXD: Transfer Student"Chapter 243: Pressure on the Entire Young Generation
Kuroka Toujou stood stunned, her illusions shattered so thoroughly she barely registered what had happened. The intricate magic circles she'd woven lay inert. She hadn't expected her tricks to be unraveled so bluntly—nor did she understand how Draconis Yi had managed it.
The truth was simple. Draconis Yi hadn't relied on cleverness or technique—just sheer, overwhelming magical force.
And that force was only growing. His holy-demonic power was nearing another bottleneck, despite his last breakthrough being so recent. Ever since he'd mastered round-the-clock automatic training, his strength had climbed at a terrifying pace. Every day, his magic and physique surged closer to their limits.
Now, with the Regalia Blade's amplification, he was brushing up against the threshold of true ultimate-class devilhood. It was no wonder Kuroka, for all her C-rank might, had been so easily overwhelmed.
A golden cloud streaked back into view—Bikou, fresh from his flight courtesy of Draconis Yi. He swung his Ruyi Jingu Bang, the air humming with its passage. In a blink, Bikou transformed, bulking up into a rugged giant, his staff morphing into a mountain-splitting axe.
The Seventy-Two Transformations, huh.
Draconis Yi met him head-on, catching the massive axe with one bare hand, holy-demonic power swirling around his grip.
"So that's your strength? Honestly, you're nowhere near what I imagined. You're not the Great Sage Equal to Heaven I hoped for."
He muttered the words, disappointment flickering across his face. Bikou was strong, but he wasn't the Monkey King of legend—at least, not in Draconis Yi's eyes.
Of course, maybe that was just the gap in their power. If he'd met Bikou before becoming a devil, maybe he'd have felt a spark of excitement.
Bikou just laughed, unbothered. "I told you, I'm not the original! But you—man, you're something else! You sure you don't have some connection to the first Monkey King?"
If anything, he seemed thrilled, itching for more of the fight.
Draconis Yi pulsed his magic, sending Bikou skidding back. His voice was calm, almost gentle. "Just an old wish. Doesn't matter now. This battle's over."
He let loose a surge of power—no dramatic flares, no wasted energy. But the Regalia Blade in his hand radiated a terrifying presence, enough to make the air feel heavy.
Bikou's eyes narrowed, pain stabbing behind his eyelids. "My Fiery Eyes and Golden Pupils… they're burning! Crap, run! We can't take that sword!"
No hesitation—he grabbed Kuroka, threw her onto his Nimbus, and shot away at full speed.
Draconis Yi's voice was cold, final. "Where do you think you're going?"
He brought the Regalia Blade down.
Silver light erupted, tearing through the air—ripping the very fabric of space, exposing the raging storms of the void. The sword's strike was Maou-class, shattering the barrier that had sealed off the battlefield.
Outside, several Maou immediately sensed the rupture, detecting the remnants of the shattered barrier.
Bikou and Kuroka fled for their lives. But the silver slash kept pace, carving through space, hunting them down. Panic flickered in Kuroka's eyes as a spatial rift suddenly opened before them.
From the rift stepped a young man in a crisp suit and glasses, wielding a longsword burning with holy fire.
A Holy Sword. The energy was unmistakable.
"That's enough, Bikou, Kuroka. The devils have detected you. Withdraw—now."
He raised the sword, unleashing a desperate slash. Space warped and split—the attack collided with Draconis Yi's, both vanishing in a burst of annihilation.
The newcomer staggered, coughing blood. "So strong… This kid's power is leagues above what Vali described…"
Kuroka's eyes widened. "Arthur, you're hurt? Even Caliburn couldn't block it?"
Caliburn—the strongest of the seven legendary Holy Swords, the Sword in the Stone. And the man wielding it: Arthur Pendragon, the greatest holy knight among humans.
Arthur wiped the blood from his lips, shaking his head. "He's probably at Maou level. Hard to believe someone so young…"
Bikou gaped, then burst out laughing. "Unreal! You're a monster, Draconis Yi! I'm glad I got to fight you!"
He turned to Arthur. "Let's head back to Vali—he's close to a breakthrough too."
Arthur nodded, then called out, "Draconis Yi, we're retreating for now. When I get stronger, let's have a real match!"
With a flourish, Arthur sliced open another spatial rift, and the three vanished into the void.
Draconis Yi watched them go, making no move to pursue. Protecting Rias and Koneko was his priority now—chasing after the Khaos Brigade could wait. Besides, he couldn't navigate the void storms as easily as Arthur could with Caliburn.
He returned to Rias and Koneko, finding their faces pale but alive.
"Are you two alright?"
Rias managed a weak smile. "Better now. Thank goodness you were here." Her voice was tinged with regret—she'd been a burden this time, unable to help.
"I'll get you home."
Draconis Yi smiled gently, wrapping an arm around each of them as he soared back toward the party.
The festivities had ended abruptly—news of the Khaos Brigade's attack spread quickly. Maou gathered to investigate, while devil security scrambled to explain the breach.
Word traveled fast. Draconis Yi had single-handedly repelled SS-rank fugitives—Kuroka the nekomata, Bikou, and Arthur wielding Caliburn. The shock rippled through the crowd.
Monster. That was the only word that fit.
And as the Rating Games loomed, the entire young generation felt the pressure. Draconis Yi alone had cast a shadow over them all.
