Chapter 138 - Chapter 138 Battle on the Hill!

Javelins were so dense they almost covered all sight.

The fear in Luke's eyes flashed and disappeared, and he murmured in a voice only he could hear,

"The deeper the love, the deeper the hate. I know you resent me, but the problem is that my heart is too vast to be filled by just one person, so, I can only apologize."

Boom!

The wall behind him exploded, and a black humanoid armor with blue electric currents emanating from its limbs burst out of the debris, standing forcefully on Luke.

Javelins hit the armor, making a clanging sound, and then fell to the ground, like wooden arrows hitting a steel fortress.

A hint of surprise flashed in Star Sapphire's eyes; she hadn't expected this situation at all.

The black armor stood between the two, its back splitting open to reveal a human-like silhouette. Luke stepped forward and merged with the armor.

Bang!

An invisible force field rippled outwards, stirring up dust that hung in the air for three seconds before settling to the ground.

Luke clenched his fists, his mechanical eyes, glowing red, stared intently at the sexy woman above him, and he said in an incredibly firm tone,

"Hold on a little longer. Soon, I will set you free."

With that, he shot up into the sky, flying away at an extremely fast speed, disappearing in the blink of an eye.

Star Sapphire: "..."

Standing there completely bewildered, after more than ten seconds, she confirmed that the guy had really just fled and had no other intentions. Her cold face, which had remained unchanged throughout, actually twisted in a rare display of emotion. Her eyes and mouth twitched violently, and her gaze flickered, revealing an unconcealed rage.

Under the immense mental stimulation, Carol actually broke free from Star Sapphire's control and regained command of her body.

"Luke, you bastard, you scumbag, I will never let you get away with this!"

After a furious roar, her expression returned to indifference, but her eyes now held a touch of humanity.

She shot into the sky, fighter jet thrusters materializing behind her, and sped towards the direction where Luke had disappeared at a high speed exceeding Mach 1.5.

At this moment, she was Star Sapphire, and also a vengeful lover, betrayed by her boyfriend, wanting revenge yet filled with mixed emotions...

Luke didn't want to be a superhero; he had no interest in it. The purpose of creating the Ghost armor was merely to protect himself and to fulfill a bit of his Iron Man dream.

Therefore, he would never be like the Flash, constantly cleaning up after the police, nor would he be like Superman, staging epic battles in Metropolis.

Fighting? No problem, but the location is key.

A densely populated city like Coast City was clearly not a good choice; a dark and secluded small forest was his favorite, just like this small hillside in front of him. It was sparsely populated and tranquil, a perfect place for "flirting and bickering."

Luke stopped on the hillside, quietly watching the purple light flying in the distance.

The purple light was extremely fast, arriving in front of him in the blink of an eye.

Compared to before, "Carol" seemed to have changed a little; her face was still cold, but her eyes held a hint of anger, no longer like a machine, but more like a living person.

Moreover, there were no javelins behind her, but devices similar to jet engines.

Luke frowned slightly,

hesitantly asked,

"Are you... Carol?"

"Go to hell, you scumbag!"

A purple Gatling gun appeared in Carol's hand. She gripped the handle and began to spray wildly, purple ammunition raining down like a deluge.

Luke's expression was strange; he didn't know what he was thinking, but he didn't dodge or evade, letting the bullets hit him.

The clanging sounds merged into a continuous line.

The armor's defense was extremely high; the only outcome for bullets hitting it was to be deflected.

The Gatling gun was useless, so Carol immediately threw it aside. She placed her hands on her shoulders, and a rocket launcher appeared out of thin air.

Bang!

A rocket, spewing fire from its rear, flew rapidly, but Luke still didn't dodge.

With a loud boom, the rocket exploded, flames shot into the sky, and the overflowing shockwave acted on the trees, making the branches and leaves rustle.

As the fire dissipated, Ghost One stood unharmed in place, clean and spotless, without a speck of dust, and the blue light on its limbs was even brighter.

Carol: "..."

The rocket launcher was actually useless!

Then I'll bring out something even more powerful. I refuse to believe I can't blow you to smithereens.

Purple light surged around her, and the outline of an intercontinental missile appeared between her hands. Unfortunately, her materialization speed was too slow. Luke waited for a few seconds but didn't see the missile take shape. In helplessness, he could only raise his right hand.

Bang!

An energy projectile shot out, turning the half-formed missile into purple light dust.

Luke shrugged and smiled,

"I can tell you're still a novice; you don't know how to use the energy within you at all. Since that's the case, let's stop with the new tricks and go back to our primitive form, hand-to-hand combat, just like before."

"Bastard!"

Carol was both ashamed and furious. With a thought, purple javelins emerged from behind her, one after another, densely packed, as if endless. The purple light flickered, dyeing the night sky a deep purple. This formation, at least a few thousand javelins.

Luke shook his head, his tone filled with helplessness,

"I know your biggest obsession was not becoming a javelin thrower, but you don't have to go this far, do you!"

Carol ignored him, focusing all her attention on controlling the javelins. She refused to believe that ten thousand javelins couldn't pierce through him, that scumbag!

To be honest, the sight of ten thousand javelins suspended in mid-air was extremely spectacular. Luke acted nonchalant, but he was very nervous.

"Ava, what's the situation?"

"If the armor is continuously hit by javelins for an extended period, there's a high probability of damage."

"Understood."

Luke pushed off the ground with his legs, creating a circular crater, and shot towards Carol like an arrow. The latter quickly flew to the side, but as soon as her body moved, dozens of javelins fell to the ground.

"Any physical object goes through a process from unfamiliarity to familiarity. For abilities you don't understand, it's best not to overuse them, just like the javelins in the sky; they look spectacular, but in reality, they're completely useless."

"I don't need you to teach me."

Carol angrily retorted. After speaking, she returned to her cold and ruthless state. While dodging Luke, she waved her fingers, and the purple javelins drew a circle in mid-air, shooting towards the black armor from all directions.

Luke was unwilling to experience the sensation of being pierced by a thousand swords, so he decisively activated remote mode!

The armor contracted inward, two cannon barrels appeared on its shoulders, and eight spider-leg-like firearms emerged from its back.

Under Ava's precise control, every energy projectile fired from the cannons and firearms shot down a javelin. Javelins continuously flew in and were continuously shot down. Over two thousand javelins, not a single one managed to get within fifty meters of Luke.

Seeing this, "Carol's" expression finally changed. She recklessly shot all of the remaining seven thousand-plus javelins at Luke.

The pitch-black night sky was instantly replaced by purple light.

Countless purple lights streaked across the sky, like a meteor shower descending from above. The light was dazzling, dyeing the dark Ghost One a deep purple.
