Chapter 145 - Chapter 145: Entertainment Time on the Court

Amidst the audience's anticipation, William dribbled the basketball and walked to the center of the court. Watching William's clumsy dribbling, the audience burst into laughter.

But before they could laugh for long, William, without any preparation, grabbed the ball and shot it. With a 'swish,' the basketball went in. William turned and extended both hands to the audience, indicating that the ball was in and it was their turn to bow.

The audience wasn't really surprised that William made the shot, after all, he had just made two. So, the audience sparsely bowed to William, many laughing as they performed a mock royal bow, which made many people laugh out loud.

After everyone had their fun, the audience shouted for more. Unfortunately, William didn't let them have their way. The second, third, fourth, and fifth shots all went in for William. The audience was somewhat numb. Not getting Budweiser made them a bit dissatisfied, and they urged William to hurry up, not wanting to give him any rest time.

"I don't believe you can make all ten shots!" For the sixth shot, William thought about it and decided not to be too serious. This was entertainment, after all, and no one in the audience really wanted to see William make every shot. This was William's entertainment time, and sometimes making a fool of himself was more effective than showing off too much.

So, William deliberately missed the sixth shot, shaking his head in feigned disappointment as the ball didn't go in.

But the audience jumped up in excitement! They had already bowed 5 times, and if he made another, they wouldn't be interested in playing with William anymore.

"Hahahaha!" "He missed! Excellent! The first bottle!"

"Damn it, he finally missed! One bottle secured, come on, buddy, don't let him rest and adjust, everyone shout, hurry up!"

"Yes, don't let him adjust, we want more Budweiser!"

"Shoot, shoot!"

Many front-row spectators shouted at the person retrieving the ball for William: "Pass the ball quickly, buddy, you'll get Budweiser too, hurry up, don't let him adjust!"

A few impatient guys even ran onto the court, grabbed the ball, and passed it to William. Two other guys stood by with spare balls, waiting for William.

William caught the ball, putting on a helpless expression. This time, William prepared himself, bounced the ball a few times, and then shot.

The basketball went into the hoop amidst the audience's sighs of regret. "Oh!" A chorus of sighs filled the arena. William, seeing the ball go in, put his hands on his hips, shook his head, and began to tap dance. As he danced, he arrogantly shrugged his shoulders and waved his hands.

This infuriated the audience, who cursed him as an 'idiot.' Some spectators nearby huddled together to discuss a strategy. Finally, four audience members stepped forward, each with a ball, and shouted at William: "Hurry up, let's continue! This time you have to shoot all of them at once. We won't let you prepare or adjust!"

William shrugged, looking indifferent, which truly made the people standing near him grit their teeth in annoyance.

One person with a ball directly passed it over. William took the ball and shot it; it went in. Before he could even smile, the second ball came over. He caught it, shot it, and it went in.

However, William immediately stopped smiling. After the ninth ball was passed, William was somewhat smug, but this shot didn't go in as he had expected.

The audience, seeing their strategy was effective, shouted, "Pass the ball quickly, pass the ball quickly!" Sure enough, the last ball was immediately passed to him. William shot the ball amidst the audience's shouts of "Miss!"

This was the last shot, and William didn't aim too carefully. Anyway, it was just entertainment. Making 7 shots was already very good. If he had really made all of them, not only would the audience's anger burn him,

William would definitely be cursed to death by the audience. The last ball flew towards the hoop amidst the audience's anticipation. The basketball hit the rim with a clang, bounced up, and then bounced out of the hoop.

The entire audience stood up. These guys cheered as if they had won a great battle, chanting "Victory! Budweiser!"

Bartley, holding a microphone, walked over to William with a laugh and asked, "William, how's it going? When are the Budweisers coming? I've done the math, buddy, and you're going to be out of pocket today. We want canned beers, not bottled, and they should be $3 each. Don't you all agree?"

William thought, "Three dollars a can? That's only $160,000. No big deal. If I wasn't afraid of getting scolded, I wouldn't even have to pay for a single bottle." William turned to Bartley and said, "No problem, buddy. I'll sign the check, and you go buy everyone drinks. How about that?"

Bartley laughed and said, "Buddy, trying to ditch me? No way! You know we're live right now, and that won't stop me. Come on, William, look at the camera."

Bartley continued, "Hey, Budweiser distributors in New York, did you see that? I've got a check for $160,000 right here! Guys, hurry up and send the Budweisers over, and don't forget to send the advertising fee to TNT. Otherwise, you won't get such a good deal next time. Next time, we'll go with Heineken, got it? This isn't a threat; it's an announcement, haha."

After saying that, Bartley made a funny face, as if to scare a child, and said, "You'd better give me free Budweiser for a year, or I'll go to Heineken."

The audience burst into laughter, entertained by Bartley. In reality, there was no need to find a distributor; the stadium already sold beer, burgers, and sodas. Within the few minutes William and Bartley were joking around, stadium staff had already brought over beer, burgers, and sodas.

After a few more minutes of revelry, the game officially began. The audience was particularly excited tonight, and the atmosphere was electric from the start. Every time the Knicks scored, the crowd erupted in cheers.

Although the Hawks were fighting with their backs against the wall today, already trailing 0-2, they still put up a good fight with high-quality plays. However, they were ultimately swept by the hyped-up Knicks. After the game, the entire audience loudly chanted "Knicks!"

Many spectators were so excited they cried. Now, only the Pacers remained, and the Knicks had once again reached the finals. The big screen at the venue continuously showed the crying audience members.

Suddenly, William saw an exceptionally familiar face. It was a beautiful woman with a fantastic figure. Although the girl's hands covered her mouth, making it impossible to see her full face, William knew her too well. They had spent over a month together, day in and day out, so how could William not recognize her?

After confirming Ambrosio's location on the big screen, William turned to look in her direction and saw Ambrosio covering her mouth, crying, and looking at him.

William waved at Ambrosio and made a gesture as if he was making a phone call. This action was immediately captured by the camera, and the cameraman quickly turned the lens in the direction William was waving. Ambrosio's figure reappeared on the big screen.

This time, Ambrosio, covering her mouth, nodded vigorously at William.

Kenny, who was in the live broadcast studio, was giving post-game predictions when he suddenly heard the director's voice through his earpiece. Kenny turned to the camera and said, "Wow, we've found something interesting at the Knicks game! William Devonshire's girlfriend, whom the English media has been searching for six months, has finally been found! Let's look at the big screen!"

Viewers in front of their televisions saw a tall, slender, beautiful girl, over 1.8 meters tall, covering her mouth and crying while nodding and occasionally waving at William—a true hot girl.

Kenny's voice came from the TV, "Wow, what a hot girl! I wonder what kind of luck William had to be favored by such a beautiful girl. Oh, the director just gave me some information about this hot girl: Ambrosio, a Brazilian model, the same age as William, and she just participated in the Victoria's Secret selection.

"God, this girl is going to be famous! Victoria's Secret will definitely ask her to walk the runway, I'm sure of it. Tomorrow's newspapers will be full of reports about this girl and William Devonshire. She's truly a girl kissed by God!"

Indeed, the next day, many American newspapers reported on William, placing Ambrosio alongside him. Ambrosio truly became famous across America. Victoria's Secret even called her mobile phone, notifying her that she had a spot in the November fashion show and might even get wings.

This news thrilled Ambrosio, and she became utterly devoted to William, no longer throwing tantrums.
