Chapter 85 - Chapter 85: The Fall of Tyr

The human ancestors living in the mountains were leading a happy life of farming and weaving, but they didn't know they had already been targeted by an uninvited guest.

Fortunately, this uninvited guest was not a malicious one.

Gale arrived at the Vrykul town and realized he had underestimated the Vrykul's height. Human ancestors were considered deformed Vrykul, born short, but adults were still twice his height.

Looking at children as tall as he was, Gale always felt a bit awkward.

These children were inherently simple and, seeing a different 'little friend,' curiously approached, reaching out to pull Gale's ear.

Gale dodged, but these Vrykul children were strong and agile, and after two attempts, he couldn't evade them, so he had to blink away.

"Huh?"

The children became even more curious, opening their arms to pounce. However, they were grabbed by the collar by an adult Vrykul, who looked at Gale warily, "Who are you?"

Gale showed what he thought was a friendly smile, "Good afternoon, sir. I am a Kaldorei, you can also call me an elf. My name is Gale, and I am a mage."

The adult Vrykul asked, "Whose subordinate are you? Loken? Or Odin?"

Gale shook his head, "I don't know Loken or Odin. Our Queen is Azshara, a female elf."

The adult Vrykul breathed a sigh of relief but did not relax his guard.

"What is your purpose in coming here?"

Gale explained, "We fought the trolls in the pine forest to the south, and after their defeat, the trolls scattered and fled. We tracked the trolls to the eastern forest, where we felt a strong dark aura. I am a mage who uses Arcane, and I am very sensitive to all dark powers. I followed this power into the mountains and then felt a powerful force within the mountains."

"That power gave me courage and attracted me here."

Gale said 'sincerely,' "I have no intention of disturbing your lives, but I hope to find the source of that powerful force. With this powerful force, perhaps I can resolve the darkness buried beneath this land."

The adult Vrykul pondered for a moment, "The powerful force you speak of should be Tyr's power, but unfortunately, Tyr's Fall has already occurred, and I'm afraid he cannot help you."

"Tyr? Is that the name of that strong individual?" Gale feigned confusion, "Since this Lord Tyr possessed such powerful strength, how could his Fall have occurred?"

"I don't remember the specifics!" The adult Vrykul said, "According to the epic passed down for thousands of years in our tribe, it was Tyr who led us from the northern snowfields all the way here. But two powerful monsters pursued us, and Tyr was no match, so he chose to sacrifice himself, detonating the energy within him to kill one monster and severely wound the other."

"So, we settled down in the place of Tyr's Fall, vowing to guard Tyr's Tomb for generations. Therefore, we named this place Tyr's Fall, which in our Vrykul language is called Tirisfal."

Gale said with emotion, "What an extraordinary epic hero. Please allow me to pay my respects to Tyr to express my reverence."

The adult Vrykul looked deeply at Gale, "Alright! However, you must guarantee that you will not disturb the tranquility of Tyr's Tomb."

Gale sincerely stated, "Please rest assured, I absolutely have no ill intentions."

The adult Vrykul sent the children away and then led Gale to Tyr's Tomb. Along the way, many Vrykul wanted to inquire about the situation, but they were all subtly driven away by the adult Vrykul.

Gale silently watched all of this. This adult Vrykul already knew his strength. Driving away the other Vrykul was an attempt to avoid conflict as much as possible. The fact that the other Vrykul listened to him also proved that this Vrykul held a high position.

He didn't expose this and asked with a smile, "I still don't know how to address you, sir?"

"You can call me Solidan."

"Lord Solidan, I am very interested in your tribe's epic. I wonder if you could tell it to me?"

"Of course..."

The two walked one after another, heading towards Tyr's Tomb, recounting the epic about Tyr. Passed down for hundreds of generations, the content of the epic had deviated significantly, with many parts straying from Ulduar's background story.

But Gale still listened with great interest, especially to the descriptions of Tyr. Thousands of years had passed, and Tyr's power of courage still protected the Vrykul, which showed Tyr's might.

The Hall of the Pantheon had established nine Guardians on Azeroth, and Tyr was one of them, known as the King of Order. The Titan who bestowed power upon Tyr was Aggramar. He not only granted Tyr Arcane power but also the courage of a warrior. With courage, Tyr became the most skilled in combat among the nine Guardians; even Loken and Odin, who were stronger than him, did not have as distinguished achievements as Tyr.

Gale could feel Tyr's power permeating the air, as well as that eternal courage.

He had possessed Aggramar's Shield for a long time and was very familiar with Aggramar's power. If he were a warrior, perhaps he could feel a warrior's courage from Aggramar's Shield.

Unfortunately, he was a mage, and even though his close-combat skills were already far superior to some warriors, he still hadn't mastered the most essential power of a warrior—courage!

Therefore, he had to come to Tyr's Fall to experience Tyr's Arcane power imbued with courage up close.

As Tyr's Tomb drew nearer, Gale could feel that peculiar power more clearly. This power made Gale straighten his back, and his walk now carried an unstoppable momentum.

Solidan noticed his change and was secretly surprised. They had been flesh-and-blood for thousands of years, and the customs of the Dragon Rider Clan had also disappeared with time. But under the influence of Tyr's power, they still possessed the courage to face any enemy.

However, that was the result of years of influence, and compared to Gale's visible change, it was simply too slow.

Are elves inherently gifted? Born to be warriors?

While he was pondering, Tyr's Tomb was right before them.

"We're here!" Solidan reminded, and then he performed a ritual of worship first.

Gale mimicked Solidan's actions and followed with his own worship. Then he took out Aggramar's Shield, sat cross-legged in front of Tyr's Tomb, and began to analyze Tyr's power with the help of the shield.

"This is..." Solidan looked at Aggramar's Shield in surprise. He actually felt Tyr's power from the shield.

Could this be the shield Tyr once used?

He was wondering how to make Gale return the shield, but before he could figure it out, he felt a powerful force rise from within Gale.

Looking up, he saw an Arcane vortex appear around Gale, frantically absorbing the free-floating Tyr's power in the air. Solidan's jaw dropped. He no longer dared to hope that Gale would 'return' the shield; he only hoped that Gale would leave quickly.

Such a powerful individual was clearly not someone the current tribe could afford to offend.
