Chapter 84 - Chapter 84 The first ancestor of mankind?

Hakkar ran away!!!

Maiev let out a sigh of relief, unable to hold on any longer, and fell straight to the ground.

Gale quickly supported her. Just as he was about to ask, he saw the Avenger transform into a black shadow and enter Maiev's body.

Then, the Avenging Spirits outside the outpost disappeared one after another. In less than a minute, the battlefield was empty, with only Hakkar's tail still twitching spasmodically.

Watching the Amani Trolls' bodies disappear, Gale's heart felt as if it had been forcefully clenched. Nearly a hundred thousand Amani Trolls' bodies, how many Regeneration Potions could be made? Hundreds of thousands of gold coins just vanished like that. How could Gale not feel heartbroken?

Fortunately, Hakkar left a tail, which made up for his loss.

Maiev had fainted. Although Elune had bestowed the Avenger upon her, using the Avenger still consumed her mana. Her stamina was already insufficient, and with her mana drained, her entire body was overdrawn.

Gale took out the eternal holy grail and slowly guided Arcane Energy to replenish Maiev's stamina and mana. Once Maiev's breathing stabilized, Gale then used the holy grail to cast a mass dispel spell, waking up the Kaldorei.

"What happened to me?" Carlos asked blankly, touching his neck.

Gale kicked him, "Help me find a room."

Carlos then saw Maiev had fainted and quickly got up, leading the way. Gale picked up Maiev and followed Carlos into a room. After settling Maiev, Gale came out of the room.

He whistled at the Proto-Dragon, and it immediately let out a dragon's roar.

The Proto-Dragon leaped up, flew outside the outpost, grabbed Hakkar's tail, returned, and threw it in front of Gale.

Hakkar's tail did not contain much divine power, but it was much stronger than shadra spike. Gale took out the bones from inside, which contained relatively more divine power. He planned to use them to analyze Hakkar's divine power.

The flesh contained little divine power and had little use. Gale only collected the corrupted blood, which might be useful in the future.

As for the meat, it was completely useless. It contained toxins and was not even suitable as food. Throwing it away would pollute the environment, so it could only be sold to some low-level mages as research material, which was how Hydra Nash's meat was handled.

However, transporting it all the way back to Sin'dorei would probably not even cover the shipping costs.

As Gale was thinking about how to deal with the meat, the Proto-Dragon looked at Gale expectantly, drooling.

"You want to eat it?" Gale asked in surprise.

The Proto-Dragon nodded.

"But the meat has toxins, you might not be able to handle it," Gale warned.

The Proto-Dragon didn't care and kept nodding.

Gale sighed, "Alright! As long as you can eat it, all this meat is yours. But don't overdo it. If you can't handle the toxins, then leave it to me to deal with—"

Before he could finish, the Proto-Dragon directly spewed a breath of dragonfire onto Hakkar's meat. Then it buried its head in the meat and feasted.

Gale observed for a moment and, seeing that the Proto-Dragon showed no discomfort, he relaxed. As long as it didn't get sick, using this meat as dragon food could be considered recycling.

Star Eyes saw that Gale had finished his work and quickly came over to thank him. Gale exchanged a few pleasantries with him, then returned to the room to look after Maiev.

A few days later, the logistics troops and the Priest Corps arrived.

After Kana Darkwalker brought the intelligence back to Zul'Saroth, Gale had Maiev go ahead alone to Madwind Post. He himself, after arranging the logistics troops and the Priest Corps, then arrived by dragon.

The Priests healed the wounded soldiers and blessed them, restoring their morale. In just a few days, the Second Legion had regained its combat capability and resumed its exploration into the pine forest.

However, there was no longer a significant Amani Troll presence in the pine forest. When Chief Deadwood and others fled, they notified the larger Amani Troll tribes, and many Amani Trolls evacuated without even having time to pack their belongings.

The Second Legion felt as if they had punched a cotton ball, feeling extremely frustrated. Star Eyes sent out a large number of scouts, hoping to track the Amani Trolls' whereabouts, but found no trace.

Helpless, Star Eyes could only turn his attention to the resources of the pine forest. The pine forest had a large amount of timber, but unfortunately, this was not what the Kaldorei needed, as the Kaldorei's territory already had enough trees.

Next were the creatures within the pine forest, but due to the Amani Trolls' constant hunting, there were not many left.

Finally, there were minerals. Unfortunately, this area did not have any open-pit mines. And the Kaldorei were not skilled at exploring mineral veins, so they could only look at the pine forest and its surrounding mountains with helplessness.

Unwilling to give up, Star Eyes again sent people to explore the surrounding areas, and indeed, he discovered something unusual.

"What did you say?" Gale looked at Star Eyes in surprise, "A type of small Vrykul has been discovered in the northern mountains?"

"That's right!" Star Eyes said with a smile, "At first, I didn't believe it either, but the scouts placed detection wards there."

He took out an Asunite Eye Stone and handed it to Gale. Gale activated the Eye Stone, retrieved images from several of the northernmost detection wards, and projected them onto a light screen.

In a basin surrounded by mountains, there was a small town, and within the town lived a group of creatures that were only half the height of normal Vrykul.

These were the deformed Vrykul? The ancestors of humans?

Gale fell into thought. If he remembered correctly, the ancestors of humans lived in the western mountains of Tirisfal Glades, and later, under the weakening effect of the flesh curse, their stature gradually became smaller, their reproductive capacity gradually increased, and only then did they emerge from the mountains.

Thousands of years later, Emperor Thoradin unified the various human tribes and established the Arathor Empire.

After helping the High Elves defeat the Amani Trolls, Emperor Thoradin chose to abdicate and returned to the place where human ancestors lived. Finally, he accidentally discovered Tyr's Tomb and inadvertently released the seal of the Old God Apostle Zakajz. To atone for his mistake, Thoradin plunged his sword, Stromkar, into Zakajz's head, causing it to fall back into slumber.

In the game, one of the Warrior players' artifact quests was to rescue Thoradin. Gale had done this quest before, so he was very familiar with this background story.

Reality and the game are certainly different, not to mention Thoradin was a person from thousands of years later. The reason for mentioning this background story is that if these "small" Vrykul are the ancestors of humans, then the place where they live is very likely Tyr's Tomb.

Legends of Tyr have always circulated among humans. When Thoradin conquered the Tirisfal human tribes, he once wore the local Silver Hand emblem. Later, the Kingdom of Lordaeron established an army of Paladins, also named the Silver Hand. Paladin Mograine's fiefdom was even directly named Tyr's Hand.

Therefore, as long as the human ancestors are found, there is a very high probability that Tyr's Tomb will also be found.
