Meanwhile, the enforcers who were going to transverse the eastern and western sides of the continent boarded onto their safari vehicles. Matthew and another enforcer hopped onto the back of a jeep whist Josh entered the driver's seat.
"Hold on." David waved.
Matthew paused and so did his mates. David approached the lieutenant.
"Come closer."
Knowing what the general wanted to do, Matthew complied.
David touched Matthew's forehead with his thumb and focused. After a few moments, he let go and stepped back.
"Get going now, Gillispie. Don't waste any more time."
"Yes, sir." Matthew replied.
Josh activated the nuclear-powered jeep and drove off at the same time as the other safari vehicles. He drove near the coast of the river while activating the GPS and SONAR systems. Matthew looked back at the camp as it got farther and farther away.
'This is going to take a long time…'
He turned towards the other enforcer who was seated beside him.
"Yo, Nolan. How you doing, man?" Matthew poked him.
"Oh…I'm doing fine." Nolan replied.
Nolan was a young man with a slim build, green eyes and dark hair. He held a katana between his arms and sat cross-legged.
"But I feel like I forgot something…" he said.
"If you forgot about it, then, it's probably not important." Matthew encouraged.
"I don't know, man…" Nolan said with uneasy voice.
"…Just trust me" Matthew
"Okay…" Nolan replied.
He crossed his arms and drew a sharp breath. After a while of driving, he felt bored. The afternoon turned to evening, the night drew closer with each second. Matthew hung from the edge of the jeep with a face of utter boredom. Soon, the sun dipped below the horizon and the moon rose. Josh stopped the jeep, parking it near the coast of the river. He opened the door but didn't step out.
"It's dinner time! What did you guys bring?"
The atmosphere became awkward.
"Oh…so, that was what I was missing…" Nolan scratched his head.
"I shouldn't have anything more from you. Matthew?"
"…Me too…" Matthew replied while sweat rolled down his face.
"…You idiots! I should've gotten it myself. You people can't do shit."
"I promise we can compensate for it." Nolan stated.
"Then, do it quickly before I start cooking you." Josh said as he exited the jeep.
Matthew and Nolan hopped oof the back. Matthew placed his hands on his hips, thinking of ways to get.
'There isn't any source of food in the forest from what I've seen…wait, the river!'
Matthew punched Nolan's shoulder. Nolan shuddered from the blow, clutching his shoulder.
"Ow! What the hell are you hitting me for?!"
Matthew pointed at the river with both hands. Nolan got the gist of it. They both approached it, standing at the edge of the coast.
"How are we gonna get it out?" Nolan blurted.
"…I'm use my attribute to get to fish out of there." Matthew answered.
"Then, how will we catch them?" Nolan looked at the lieutenant general.
"…I don't know."
"Uh, fine. Just get the fish out of there while I get the survival kit."
Matthew grinned as Nolan rushed back away from Matthew. He crouched down and closed his eyes. In his mind, an imaginary sphere expanded from his body – almost 30 meters in radius. He sensed many fishes within the river from his barrier. He activated his attribute – boundary. Suddenly, the fishes jump out of the water and fell near his feet.
'One, two, three, four, Five, sir…I think that's enough.'
He deactivated his attribute and stood up. Nolan ran back to him, panting.
"I almost got caught in it…" Nolan picked up some fish.
"Be more careful, next time. I'm not going to wait for you." Matthew picked up some fish.
Nolan grimaced as they headed towards Josh. Josh had made a fire using the survival kit and some dry leaves he had found in the forest. He swiveled his head around as the duo approached.
"What are you waiting for? Give the fish to me."
They handed their gatherings to josh who carefully took off the fish's skin using a small knife. After deskinning them, he pierced them with a metal rod. He placed the rod on top of two other metal holders.
"This new gen survival kit is pretty niche…" Matthew sat down.
"I like the old ones better." Nolan heated up his hands with the fire.
"Really? You like those old boxes with nothing but a knife and lighter. Dude, your such an oldie." Matthew chuckled.
"Eh, old is gold I don't wanna change my mind." Nolan exclaimed.
Just then, Josh spoke up.
"You should've told me you were going to do that. I could've bet on you catching the fishes and increase the company's value even more."
Matthew spun his head in his direction. "Well, yeah, you're the CEO. You're gonna get the most benefits from the company. Sometimes, just chill, man. You don't have to do everything to increase the company's value."
"Of course, I'm the CEO. You, assholes couldn't have ever run a business like me."
"Okay, man. Calm down, It's not serious." Nolan interrupted them.
"It serious." Josh replied as he picked up the fishes.
Josh placed another fish on the fire and started eating. Matthew and Nolan sighed, knowing they wouldn't get a piece. After a while, the other fish was fully cooked. Matthew picked it up and began devouring the meal. Josh placed another fish on the fire as Nolan's mouth began to water.
"Stop, drooling, you animal." Josh reprimanded his mate.
"Sorry, man. It just looks so good…" Nolan replied, wiping his mouth.
"Anything would look delicious after not eating for an entire day. Have some manners."
"Fine…"
Nolan snatched the fish once it finished cooking, devouring it like an animal. Josh grimaced watching his teammate eat his dinner so roughly.
'After years, I still can't get him to eat like a human being…'
Josh finished and threw the remaining fish bones away. Putting another fish on the fire, he lifted his head and stared at the milky way. The beautiful view encapsulated his mind. Nothing – he had seen nothing as majestic as the stars in the sky before. He lowered his head and looked at his two teammates.
'I should consider promoting Nolan to an executive once he learns some manners. His attribute is a great one and should be used wisely.'
