Ruby collapsed onto the floor, her mind totally blank. She covered her stinging face and sobbed quietly.
Harry glanced over at Anna, a smirk playing on his lips, but he didn't say a word before turning and walking away.
The whole design department was dead silent. Everyone was frozen, too scared to even breathe.
After crying for what felt like forever, Ruby slowly came back to herself. She pushed herself up from the floor, her eyes locking on Anna with pure, venomous hate.
She gritted her teeth, her voice a low, dangerous hiss. "Anna, I swear I'll take you down with me, even if it's the last thing I do!"
With a sudden, wild burst of energy, she lunged straight at Anna.
Anna sidestepped smoothly, but Ruby was seeing red, completely determined to hurt the woman in front of her no matter what.
Seeing she wouldn't stop, Anna's foot shot out, kicking Ruby hard in the back of her knee.
Ruby fell to the ground with a heavy thud, landing in a humiliating kneel.
