"Where is this place?" Tian Shan asked curiously, looking at the obviously man-made buildings in front of her.
She had already adjusted her mindset. The man beside her seemed quite interested in her, so she was probably safe for the time being.
As for whether using her body to exchange for safety was right or wrong?
Tian Shan thought there was no need to consider that question at all. A hundred percent of women in this situation wouldn't choose the other path, right?
Those women who supposedly would never yield probably all had unfortunate looks and explosive figures, and simply weren't qualified to choose the first path!
So she had already taken the initiative to hook her arm around the man's, and casually started looking for conversation topics.
"This is the Natives' dwelling. We're staying with them tonight!" Li Qingyuan replied with a smile, feeling the softness of Tian Shan pressed against him.
Even though he knew this woman was being insincere, that she would turn on him the moment the opportunity arose, what did it matter?
He was just a passerby in this world, after all. Once the month-long deadline was up, he could just pack up and leave. Was there any need to build a bond of life and death with her?
They were all just playing a game; why make it so tiring by tearing off the masks?
"Are there still humans living on this island?" Tian Shan's eyes widened in surprise, making her already large eyes appear even bigger!
"A group of pitiful people who have lost their civilization," Li Qingyuan wasn't afraid of revealing the truth. The chance of these people returning to the outside world was probably zero. They might have to spend the rest of their lives here, so perhaps it would be better to integrate into the local environment sooner rather than later.
He strode into the cemetery built of stone, with the other three following closely behind like shadows.
"Whoosh!"
As soon as they entered the cemetery, a group of Natives holding iron spears jumped out from the corners, cautiously surrounding the five of them with their weapons!
These Natives were mostly naked, their bodies covered in various colors of paint, with only a simple piece of cloth covering their private parts.
If they hadn't been warned and had directly stepped into the encirclement of these Natives, they would probably have been scared out of their wits. However, after listening to Li Qingyuan's introduction and witnessing his miraculous methods, everyone, including Weaver, calmly ignored the Natives' encirclement.
After all, this group of Natives didn't seem as terrifying as the monsters, did they?
"Aren't you going to stop them?" Tian Shan asked, leaning against Li Qingyuan as the weapons in the Natives' hands got closer.
"Hmm!" Li Qingyuan was also puzzled. According to the movie's plot, shouldn't a World War II veteran have appeared by now? Why hadn't he shown up yet?
He had originally planned to let him do the introductions when he appeared, but it seemed that wouldn't work!
Although the plot suggested that these Natives were friendly to their own kind, who could say for sure with these settings?
'Rope Binding!'
He muttered to himself, and in an instant, countless vines began to writhe.
Rope Binding magic was Blackbeard's signature move in Pirates of the Caribbean, able to use ropes to hang anyone who dared to resist.
However, the conditions for using this magic were too strict; the caster had to have ropes around them. Fortunately, this was a rainforest, and what it didn't lack were vines!
Swish, swish, swish!
Dozens of the Natives hadn't even reacted before they were tripped by vines suddenly wrapping around their ankles, and then they were lifted up and hung upside down.
"Awa! Awa!"
"Harry! Harry!"
A group of Natives immediately began to shout. The character they had cultivated on the island for thousands of years made these Natives dare not make any noise, no matter what they did. Over time, many of them even forgot how to speak.
Because on the perilous island, speaking rashly could easily attract powerful predators. Maintaining silence was definitely the best way to minimize danger.
But now, they couldn't afford to keep silent!
After all, for thousands of years, they had mastered almost every attack method of the monsters on the island, but the current attack, with its tricks, was clearly something completely new to them.
The vines on the ground had come alive, which was beyond their comprehension!
"Kariaga!"
A man, whose skin and clothes suggested he was of a higher status than the cannon fodder Natives, suddenly appeared from behind and shouted at them.
"I'm here to seek shelter, not to kill!" Li Qingyuan waved his finger, and the vines began to sway with his movements, along with the Natives hanging on them.
"Ugh, ugh!" The leader, after a moment of bewilderment, knelt down before him and began to kowtow!
There was nothing they wouldn't do to survive; they would even worship King Kong, let alone a superhuman like Li Qingyuan!
Unfortunately, Li Qingyuan couldn't fly. If he could just float in the air, he wouldn't need to do anything, and these Natives would have already been kneeling and kowtowing.
Snap!
He snapped his fingers, and the vines immediately scattered. The Natives who had been released immediately knelt down with their chieftain.
After a difficult game of charades, the group finally entered their camp, greeted by expressions of worship from the Natives.
"There are so many people here?" Tian Shan said in disbelief as she entered the village surrounded by giant wooden fences.
"They've lived here for generations. If the population were any smaller, it wouldn't be enough to meet their basic needs for reproduction!" The Natives' Water Fortress was built inside a river, surrounded by towering mountains. The only entrance and exit was guarded by giant wooden fences nearly twenty meters high.
The Water Fortress was small, estimated to be at most a hundred or so acres. It would be enough for the Natives to live in if it were entirely used for housing, but the food supply seemed tight!
There was no way to grow crops on a large scale in such a small area, and the fertile, flat land was all occupied by monsters. The Natives could only plant some crops around the Water Fortress and rely on hunting weak creatures for food.
On this island, humans were not predators; they were just a group of weaklings struggling to survive in the cracks!
However, Li Qingyuan wasn't thinking about improving the lives of these Natives. After all, he was just a passerby. If he rashly intervened, perhaps these Natives would be wiped out by other monsters right after he left!
They had been able to survive here for thousands of years, naturally possessing their own independent survival rules. He shouldn't bother worrying about that!
What he was wondering now was, why hadn't he met that American veteran yet, even after arriving at the Water Fortress?
