"Li, let him go, Victor means no harm!" Conrad placed his hand on the pistol at his waist, speaking to Li.
"Whether he means harm or not isn't up to you, it's up to me!" Li ignored Conrad's threat. There wasn't any killing intent coming from the other man. This was just a way for him to step down.
After all, Conrad's relationship with these people was purely one of employment. He was hired by Dr. Landa to protect his safety on this deserted island, but now, the employer, Dr. Landa, didn't even know if he was alive or not, so the so-called employment relationship had no binding effect.
Besides, he was just here to make money, not to die!
Based on the incredible abilities Li, who claimed to be from Eastern Mount Shu, had displayed, Conrad wasn't naive enough to think he could threaten the other man with just a pistol.
"Aah—Aah—" Victor let out a scream that didn't sound human. The ants had already bitten through his skin and burrowed into his body. Moreover, these ants would release acid while devouring their prey to corrode the prey's outer shell. After all, the creatures on Skull Island possessed extremely strong defenses, and without good teeth, they couldn't bite through them.
Blood kept gushing out of his body. Because the ants had burrowed inside, the others had no idea what was happening to Victor!
"Ah!"
Victor hadn't even calmed down when Cliff, a soldier in the team, also screamed.
"Why?" Conrad stared at the two of them wailing, his eyes almost bulging!
"He's secretly raising his gun!" Li said calmly.
Even though with his current physique, unless he was shot directly in the brain, he wouldn't have too many problems, but who would be crazy enough to enjoy getting shot?
"Cliff is just a soldier; that's just an instinctive reaction!" Conrad tightly controlled his own hands, afraid he wouldn't be able to resist reaching for his gun!
"My actions are also instinctive!" Li shrugged indifferently. They were all going to die anyway, it didn't matter if it was sooner or later!
Actually, according to the movie's plot, everyone who came to Skull Island wasn't a good person. If they were allowed to leave alive, all the creatures on this island would immediately face destruction.
Even though the film didn't show anything about Skull Island, anyone could guess that the greedy U.S. government wouldn't let such a natural treasure go.
The creatures on Skull Island become huge and live incredibly long lives. Even humans living there become more long-lived.
This is evident in the Natives living on the island. Many of the Natives live past a hundred years, especially considering their harsh living conditions!
"You have no right to take their lives!" Weaver rushed in front of Li and shouted.
"Why don't I have the right?" Li smiled faintly. Any talk of justice is just what the ruling class uses to fool the people. Whoever has the biggest fist makes the rules.
The U.S. government, because it has a big fist, can beat up other countries for any reason. The rich lives of Americans and their sense of superiority are built on the suffering of people in the Middle East, South America, and Africa, who are starving and have lives as worthless as grass.
"They wanted to kill me; I just acted first. It's reasonable!" Li shrugged. Although those two guys dreaming of killing him was a joke, or perhaps they just had the thought, in this day and age, even having the thought means you're wrong!
The countries in the Middle East and South America don't even dare to have thoughts, and they're still getting beaten up by a certain empire?
"You tyrant!" Weaver angrily yelled, rushing forward as if ready to fight someone.
It's just that her speed seemed a bit too slow, so Conrad immediately pulled her back.
"Calm down! Don't be impulsive!" Conrad embraced Weaver, trying to calm her down.
The other party was clearly a man who killed without blinking an eye. If Weaver rushed forward rashly, it was estimated that she would follow in the footsteps of Victor and Cliff. Those two were already dead. Conrad felt that he should protect his surviving companions as much as possible!
Tian Shan was trembling all over, like a sieve. She was just a biologist; when had she ever seen such a brutal scene?
As for the geologist Brooks?
He was also standing aside, shivering, for fear that he would end up in the same tragic situation if he was not careful.
After all, judging from the current scene, Conrad had cooking skills, and Dr. Shan and Weaver were both beautiful women. He, as a black man, was easily targeted!
"Alright, we should leave now. Or do you want to spend the night here?" Ignoring the two guys gasping on the ground, Li directly helped Tian Shan to her feet.
He didn't have any tents prepared in his personal space. Even if he wanted to set one up now, he probably wouldn't have enough time.
If he remembered correctly, the Natives' settlement wasn't far away. They should be able to stay there for the night!
Dr. Brooks quickly shouldered his backpack, carefully avoiding the two struggling figures on the ground, and hurried after them.
There was hope in living. Brooks felt that if he just died here without knowing why, it would be a real loss.
"Which way should I go? I want to get far away from that bastard!" Weaver angrily shouldered her pack, preparing to walk in the opposite direction.
"Don't be ridiculous. Without following him, we won't even survive until tomorrow morning!" Conrad grabbed her. With Weaver's skills, he'd be surprised if she made it a kilometer without dying!
The rainforest itself was a deadly threat to ordinary people, not to mention this monster-infested rainforest.
"I'd rather die than be with that tyrant!" Weaver said indignantly.
"Ugh—ugh—woo—"
Victor suddenly opened his mouth and vomited blood with a "wah" sound. He bounced up like a zombie, then fell to the ground with a "thud."
A bizarre insect, about the size of half a palm, crawled out of his mouth. It looked like there were fragments of internal organs still hanging from the insect's mouthparts.
"Ugh!"
Weaver threw up on the spot. Anyone who saw this scene would have nightmares!
"Let's go, we need to catch up with them!" Conrad hurriedly supported Weaver, patted her back to comfort her.
"I won't submit to that kind of person!" Weaver continued to grit her teeth.
However, this time she didn't refuse Conrad's support, but followed him step by step, chasing after Li's departing direction.
As soon as the two left, they heard rustling footsteps from behind, as if the Wolf-Head Monster had followed.
Conrad and Weaver immediately sped forward, ignoring the sounds behind them.
