Chapter 214 - What is Justice

After seeing the two side-by-side graves, Li Qingyuan finally knew where the American Veteran had gone!

Although he didn't know how the man had died or when he had died, it was clearly not the time to dwell on that.

These two graves actually held the remains of former enemies who became best friends. During World War II, an American pilot and a Japanese pilot fought each other in the sky, eventually both crashing into a Thunderstorm Cloud.

These two who should have been mortal enemies became inseparable friends on this isolated island. After all, compared to the Natives, who couldn't communicate, and those terrifying monsters, their so-called national and family hatreds from before no longer meant anything.

The two supported and encouraged each other, trying every method to escape this island. But nearly thirty years had passed in the blink of an eye, and they had both become ghosts in their graves.

He shook his head, clearing those chaotic thoughts from his mind. He didn't feel much about their deaths, only a bit of regret.

Because he couldn't understand the language of these Natives at all, they were completely talking at cross-purposes. If the American Veteran were still alive, he could have asked the man to translate.

After living here for thirty years, even a fool would have learned how to communicate!

But since he was already dead, there was nothing more to say. He casually pulled the Samurai Sword out from one of the graves. Li Qingyuan gently drew the blade.

As soon as the sword left its scabbard, a chilling aura swept over him. He ran his finger along the blade, and a cut immediately appeared on his finger, but it healed instantly!

"Good sword!"

With his current physique of thirty points, his skin was easily cut, proving that this sword was definitely a treasure.

In the movie, the main characters' team fought against a skeleton giant lizard. Their submachine guns couldn't penetrate the lizard's shell, but the American Veteran, wielding this Samurai Sword, could easily cut through its skin.

To possess such a blade that could cut through iron like mud, the Japanese pilot stranded on this deserted island must have been from a distinguished family. This sword might even be a famous treasure throughout Japan.

He directly stored the Samurai Sword into his personal space. This sword now belonged to him!

Even if his knife skills were terrible, they should still be good enough for chopping vegetables.

He wondered if he should take some time to learn a few knife techniques from that old man, Mo Youqian?

The people following him were already used to it. Earlier, a whole bicycle had vanished with a touch of his hand. A knife was much smaller than a bicycle!

"We'll rest here tonight and look for prey tomorrow!" Li Qingyuan announced to everyone, taking over the best dwelling.

Although he couldn't communicate with the Natives, the methods he had just displayed had convinced them that he was a divine messenger. They not only gave up the best houses in the village but also offered some rare and precious food for the Natives.

However, humans were completely at a disadvantage on this island. Their prey was, at best, some ordinary beasts. So after eating a meal provided by the Natives, even though the mission completion rate increased to 2/30, his attributes hadn't changed at all.

This made Li Qingyuan feel particularly distressed. He had wasted a point of attribute for a meal, which was a huge waste!

"Could you please send us out first?" Conrad cleared his throat and asked respectfully, bowing.

"I'm here on the island for a month's vacation. If you can satisfy me this month, I'll take you back to New York with me!" Li Qingyuan waved his hand. He knew very well that to get this guy to be a chef, he had to give him hope.

If this guy knew that he could only be a savage on this island for the rest of his life, he definitely wouldn't work hard for him!

Conrad's expression visibly relaxed after getting the promise. He quickly bowed and retreated, leaving the room with the others.

Tian Shan also wanted to leave, but someone stopped her with a look.

Clack!

As the wooden door closed, only a man and a woman were left in the room. What would happen next was anyone's guess!

"Are you sure he's telling the truth? Will he really take us to New York in a month?" Weaver breathed a sigh of relief as she looked at the closed door behind her and quietly asked Conrad.

"We don't have any other choice, do we?" Conrad sighed helplessly, then slightly rotated his wrist.

"Besides, I don't think he would bother lying to us, given his status. We pose no threat to him at all; we're not even a threat!"

"But he killed Victor and Cliff!" Weaver cried, her voice shrill.

But as soon as she spoke, she realized her tone was a bit too high. Her face paled instantly, and she looked back at the house behind her with lingering fear.

"He probably doesn't have the energy to pay attention to us now," Conrad couldn't help but feel relieved. Luckily, he was a good cook, and fortunately, Dr. Shan was very beautiful.

Otherwise, none of them would have survived!

"Victor's greed killed him. Li was right. You should know that with the greed of government officials, they would definitely have the thought of snatching Li's magical items after seeing them."

"But Victor only thought about it at most; he didn't take any action. He's innocent in the eyes of the law," Weaver still stubbornly retorted.

"Law?" Conrad gave a wry smile.

"Do you think the law really works for people like him? Besides, what do you think the law is for those politicians who launch wars at will?"

Weaver's idea was good, but this wasn't a civilized society. On this terrifying island, only the law of the jungle prevailed.

Laws and regulations could wait until they returned to New York!

"I'm going to record everything that happened today. When I get back to New York, I'll release all the information to the world, and I'll definitely seek justice for Victor and Cliff!" Weaver said indignantly. She was a righteous journalist, and all evildoers must be brought to justice.

Although that Li guy seemed mysterious, Weaver firmly believed that no matter how formidable he was, he couldn't possibly be a match for the American government.

The American government was the strongest on Earth, and she, as an American, had never doubted that.

"Suit yourself, but you better not let him find out, and don't show any hostility towards him. That kind of person is very sensitive to killing intent and hostility," Conrad knew he couldn't dissuade her and could only let her do as she pleased.

"I'm a war correspondent. I know what to do!" Weaver nodded. She was a woman who had experienced the battlefield, and protecting herself and getting close to the enemy were definitely her strengths.
