Chapter 34 - The crown prince with an unknown woman

Oryen heart pounded against her chest as she and Megan ran helter-skelter trying to find Dydra. Oryen had gone to find her after she was done with the task Sandra gave her. But when she got there, there was no sign of Dydra or Leonard. She grew worried. She tried her best to sense the young witch's energy, but it has long been faded. Where could she have gone? It was her first time in the castle, so could she have missed her way? Or worse, what if a vampire was feeding on her this particular moment? Her worry grew more with that thought. She searched every nook and cranky, that servants were allowed to be, but she still couldn't find the girl. D-did she run away? She thought, with a deep frown on her face. It was possible. Maybe the young witch thought that was bests for her. It was getting into close to late hour and guards have started parading the walls, sending away any servants that works during the day, as it was time for them to return to their various homes.

The maids and servants are divided into two—some work at night, while some during the day. And guards are there to make sure everyone abided by the rule. Oryen had no choice but to leave, deeply hoping wherever the girl was, she was safe.

One would have thought, by now, the red-haired girl's thoughts will be on the event that almost took place, but no, other things ran through her mind. Her lower lip was held in a tight grip by her teeth. She shut her eyes tightly and had the elite's coat covering her face. Her body swayed as she felt his firm grip on her back and legs. He was carrying her.

She had tried to fight it, but he wouldn't agree. He lifted her when she least expected and as many maids were around the path he took, she had to cover her face with his coat.

The servants around were utterly flabbergasted, as they saw a female in the arms of the crown prince. The prince that had always had a cold aura, scaring everyone off. From the fabric of the cloth she woman wore, they knew she wasn't part of the high society, so how did she get the prince close enough to be carried by him. The instant he was out of their sight, they started to discuss.

"Who was that, that was being carried by the crown prince?" They whispered amongst each other. "I cannot believe my eyes! How is this possible? I heard he was a clean freak, that doesn't let anyone touch him! How the heck did a woman, with a fabric as worn out as ours, be with him?"

A particular maid, with blonde hair, slowly backed away from the discussion, without nobody knowledge. Her feet hit softly and quickly on the marbled floor, as she navigated her way to the queen's quarter. Her heart pounded softly in her chest, as she gently tapped on the door.

"Who is it?" She heard a voice question from the inside.

"It's Lucinda, Your Grace," her voice was soft, as she anticipated on the reward she would receive from the queen, over this information.

"Come in." On receiving permission, she turned the knob softly and quickly, and entered with her head bowed. She didn't rise, as the queen didn't ask her to.

"Speak." She heard the queen's order and she obeyed immediately.

"The crown prince was seen with a female moments ago....she was in his arms. Her face was covered, but I observed the fabric of the dress she wore, it was no lesser than what servants wear."

Lucinda's chest heaved, as silence roamed around her.

"Is that all?" The queen questioned, her eyes narrowing at the girl. When Lucinda heard this, her heart skipped a beat.

"Y-yes, Your Highness." She responded in utter fear, wondering if this information was enough to get something from the queen.

Tang!

A silver coin was suddenly thrown to her, landing beside her feet. Her eyes shown and she quickly picked it up, bowing profusely, as she received a wave from Maye, dismissing her. She was quick to exit the queen's room, with a bright smile on her face.

Maye laid on her silky bed in deep thought, with a look of awe. Leonard carried a girl? The news was as bizarre as hearing snow falling in the desert. Who was this girl? Was she his weakness? She would have to get more information on this.

Leonard closed the door behind him, and he was immediately enveloped by darkness. Being a night creature, he was able too see amongst the darkness and he went towards the bed, placing the girl on it gently. Dydra melted the moment she felt the soft silk on her skin. What was that?

Leonard left her side to turn on some candles, giving a faint golden light to the room. The young witch soon realized she was on the bed and immediately jumped off. With the coat still wrapped around her body, she turned to him and bowed deeply.

"Thank you so much for what you did. I will repay you in anyway I can, my lord. But I shall not be greedy and take my leave."

Leonard's gaze was on her thin frame—he was annoyed by her attitude. But still, he tried to understand her. She was not like other girls. Some would've jumped at this opportunity and try to seduce him, but she wanted as far away from him as possible. Since they met, she had built a wall between them. His mind was taken back to what he saw previously, the lack of hope and fear that were in her eyes, had his heart ache. He would make sure the man responsible for this pay a hundred times fold. He didn't respond to her and went to his wardrobe, bringing out a pair of shirt and trouser. He tossed them on the bed, and said to her.

"A bath has already been prepared in the wash room, put this on." He didn't meet her gaze and went straight to the door. His eyes listened to her heartbeat and something told him she would reject the offer. As he twisted the door knob, he added softly.

"Only reason you'll reject the offer, is if you want me in the bath with you," he didn't let her respond and left the room, locking the door from the outside.
