Chapter 24 - Insert 24

Ndlovu's office leaving the three of them standing there chatting. Well, actually the two of them because that Naledi girl was so not part of the talking; she was too scared to speak.

When I got to the office I started thinking about what she was saying and I was so deeply hurt I decided to call mamaka Linomtha because she is the only one who is capable of calming me down.

Linomtha: "Mamaka Linomtha banseba momerekong" (Mom they are gossiping about me here at work)

Mamaka Linomtha: "I know when you're upset and hurt you don't greet Linomtha wakaempa I always tell you to greet even when you're feeling that way. Bareng ngwanaka"

Linomtha: "I am sorry mamaka Linomtha" I told her everything that Naledi lady said about me

Mamaka Linomtha: She laughed out "Ke Modimo ngwanake, what happened when God chose David to be the king? His brothers were undermining him because he was just a Sheppard boy but he went on to fight Goliath and killed him and king Saul got to know about him. He became jealous and wanted him killed but David still remained humbled ngwanake. Lino you're like David you come from a poor family and it doesn't make sense how you got to where you are now, you don't deserve to be the in a big company handling a big case but just like David you're starting out with a big case and you're going to win it ngwanake and they will know about you and start asking questions who is this girl. It doesn't matter otswaka e David ne ankgalediphoofolo elemodisha empa Modimo amok getha. (David had animal smell because he was a Sheppard boy but God chose him) after they start knowing you don't hate them still remain humble like David.

Linomtha: Now you see why I knew mama Ka Lino will calm me down? "Ke ya le rata mama ka Linomtha, I was born for this"

Mamaka Linomtha: "That's my baby girl. Go back to work."

After I finished talking with her I had forgotten everything Naledi said about me. I went back to work on my case. I made my own notes and decided that I need to rework this case. Mr Ndlovu got in as I was busy working. I decided am not going to share with him about this office gossip.

Linomtha: "Baba I need to see Dr Walaza and work on this case afresh."

Mr Ndlovu: "Yes of cos name I was thinking about this. Please speak with Raise to organise you a driver and book you accommodation at a hotel that side."

Linomtha: "It really won't be necessary, I can sleep at home and I'll take taxis."

Mr Ndlovu: "That's an order and it's not negotiable, your place is far from the prison and not to offend you but you going to need your laptop to access your work emails, do online research, you will need to make phone calls and that won't be possible if you're at your house."

He was right, he was very right. At home there is no electricity; I won't be able to work. I really need to get mamaka Linomtha and my siblings out of that place fast, maybe I might use the time I am then now for work to go house hunting. I will have to take out a bond house for them now, I really want them out of that mud house as soon as possible. I can't sleep and eat comfortably while they don't.

I spent the following day here in Johannesburg because Raise was still finalising my travelling arrangements. People were still staring at me and talking bad things, but I really didn't care, and Raise was like a big sister to me and she was proud of the way I was responding to the critics. At home things were so lovely with Mama Ndlovu; we were getting closer and she was sad that I will be gone for two weeks.

On Wednesday we left for Limpopo and arrived at 12 in the afternoon.
