It was a very cold rainy day but that
didn't stop people from attending this
case,it was so packed and everyone
was just on the edge of their seats
waiting for this story to unfold.I spotted
some local Journalists amongst the
crowd.
For the past few weeks every
newspaper covered this headline: "Successful veteran Doctor Rapes a 16
years old girl".
We were all amazed how a rich
and
successful man with a family can do
this , I mean he can get any lady he likes.
Women just threw themselves at him
He had hired one of the best defence
lawyers in the country, why I am saying
in the country it's because he had
represented so many criminals including
the so called celebrities all over South
Africa.
Mr Moss Ndlovu was well known
he ran the largest Law Firm in South
Africa and it was every Law's Graduate
dream to work in his company including
myself.
See I had just finished writing my board
exam and I was a newly admitted
attorney of the High Court of South
Africa. Law was my passion since I was
a little girl, I was inspired by my late
uncle. I thought it would be so easy to get a job after graduating but then the
struggle to get employed was so real.
I was listening so attentively during the
proceedings of the case, the state case
was so strong, they had brought in one
of the best prosecutors, Mrs Nelly
Moloto. She was famous for winning
cases, more especially rape cases.
Rumours were going around that she
was raped as a little girl numerous times
and never got justice so that
encouraged her to study Law and fight
for women who have been raped and oh
boy she fought hard, she hardly lost any
case that had to do with rape.
Mr Moss Ndlovu was handling this case
himself, he didn't send one of his attorneys from his firm, I guess it's
because it was a very big case.
