"Kaisen, you need to come with me," Dumbledore said, pushing up his slipping half-moon spectacles as he reached out to pat Kaisen's shoulder.
The latter was in the middle of speaking.
"Gryffindor loses…"
Before Kaisen could finish, Dumbledore's Apparition activated, and with a hum, the two vanished.
"…Are we not losing points now?" George, who had just narrowly escaped, rubbed his nose and asked.
"Looks like… yes."
Hum…
Another rumble.
"Gryffindor loses one hundred points for your night-time escapade."
Professor Kaisen left the Gryffindor common room again after deducting the points, as if he had merely opened his mouth, leaving no trace of a cloud, only taking away Gryffindor's one hundred points.
No, besides the one hundred points, he also took a pair of night-vision goggles made by the twins.
"...Huh?"
Meanwhile, in the Headmaster's office.
"It seems you're very keen on this thing… but I'm still puzzled as to where you pulled out such a large blackboard," Dumbledore said, looking somewhat surprised as Kaisen instantly produced a blackboard from his ring.
Kaisen, however, had no intention of explaining. He couldn't very well say: "My office 2.0 has black technology; the entire third-floor office is a giant ender chest."
Although that was the truth, he still had no desire to explain.
After the office upgrade to 2.0, not to mention taking out a blackboard with the ring, if there was someone inside, he could even directly pull that person out with the ring.
"Don't mind these details. We have already gathered two pieces of information. I saw with my monocle in the corridor that the hidden thing should be this so-called Basilisk, and Lord Voldemort should be possessing the Basilisk, because at that time I saw a soul entry."
"Also, enchanted spectacle lenses can, to some extent, reduce the Basilisk's death-gaze magic, but ordinary prescription glasses won't work; Myrtle is an example."
"You want to equip all Little Wizards with glasses?" Dumbledore asked.
"And then let that Basilisk petrify the Little Wizards into stone, and then finish them off with a dragon's tail whip to smash their final bodies?"
"I knew you wouldn't do that; it's too foolish," Dumbledore said matter-of-factly.
On the other side, Kaisen, who had been hand-crafting glasses for about five seconds, awkwardly rubbed the lenses with his hand.
"Didn't you say you were afraid the Basilisk would smash the Little Wizards with a dragon's tail whip?"
"Ahem, this is different. I designed a very interesting mechanism for it. Isn't the Basilisk's eye a condensed state of death elements?" Kaisen asked.
"That's not the same. A Basilisk is not a Medusa. If a Basilisk has no hostility towards you, looking at you won't directly kill you. But a Basilisk possessed by Tom is different."
"I wondered why I didn't see death elements then… but if my guess is correct, the Basilisk's eyes transmit death elements to the victim?"
Dumbledore nodded: "That's right."
"Since that's the case, we can do some interesting things with Alchemy."
Kaisen took out an Enchanting Table and quickly enchanted the glasses with Runes for magic resistance and delayed shattering.
"Make a copy of it."
Dumbledore took out his wand and tapped it. The glasses went from one to two, one original and one copy.
Then Kaisen placed the original glasses on the table, took out a box, put the copied glasses into it, and then added a comparator, redstone wiring, a redstone torch, and a piston.
Because the comparator detected an item in the box, the output redstone signal extinguished the redstone torch, preventing the piston from activating.
Finally, Kaisen made bubbling water in front of the piston using soul sand, and threw an ender pearl into it. The pearl instantly bounced around in the bubbling water.
"This is a death element, similar to what the Basilisk has. To be safe, I even took the twins' night-vision goggles. With two types of magic superimposed, one of them is bound to be useful."
Kaisen held the glasses in one hand, and in the other, the death element he had previously synthesized from chaos and life appeared. He excitedly introduced it to Dumbledore.
...
Dumbledore, completely bewildered and unable to understand, still watched calmly, maintaining his composure.
"...Alright, I know you don't understand. You can ask," Kaisen said bluntly, having now seen through Dumbledore.
"...What's the use of this?"
"Good question." Kaisen placed the original glasses on the table.
"We use this death element to simulate the Basilisk's death gaze."
With a wave of his hand, a stream of death element flew towards the glasses. The moment it passed through the lenses, most of its power was absorbed by the lenses. About a second later, the entire glasses instantly shattered into pieces.
And in the box on the other side, the copied glasses inside also shattered into dust because the original glasses broke.
The comparator detected nothing in the box, shutting off the redstone signal output. The connected redstone torch suddenly ignited, activating the piston.
The piston activated, and the protruding piston head landed precisely on the bubbling water, pushing the bouncing ender pearl forward and simultaneously smashing it.
With a bang, Kaisen suddenly teleported to the spot where the ender pearl had shattered.
"How about it? Do you understand?" Kaisen asked Dumbledore.
"...…Nicolas Flamel and you were right… I know nothing about Alchemy," Dumbledore said in a daze.
"How about it?" Kaisen continued to ask.
"You intend to use such a device, coupled with the matching glasses, to create this teleportation device, so that the Basilisk's death gaze is blocked by these glasses, leaving only the petrification effect."
"Then the glasses shatter, activating this device, causing it to smash this pearl, to achieve teleporting the petrified Little Wizards to a safe place within a second?"
Dumbledore clarified his thoughts and said.
"That's exactly it." Kaisen nodded.
Dumbledore, confirming his understanding, sat in his chair and pushed up the glasses on his nose.
"I know nothing about Alchemy."
"Didn't you already say that once?"
Kaisen asked.
"I am merely expressing my astonishment… Every time I see someone as exceptionally talented as you, I can't help but marvel at the greatness of magic and life…" Dumbledore exhaled a long breath and said.
