Chapter 80 - The Bat-Signal Illuminates Manhattan

Osborn Building.

The NYPD Task Force, led by George Stacy, swiftly moved out, prepared to assist Spider-Man.

Other officers were responsible for evacuating the citizens of Manhattan.

"We need to find a way to help Spider-Man!"

George said to the Task Force members beside him, "Are the snipers in position?"

"In position!"

The Task Force member replied solemnly, "Ready to fire at any time."

"Good, let him seize the opportunity."

George finished speaking and immediately began inquiring about the evacuation of the citizens.

Fortunately, since the Green Goblin and Spider-Man appeared together, there were very few casualties thanks to Spider-Man's efforts to restrain the Goblin.

The main losses were the buildings and municipal facilities damaged in the fight between the Green Goblin and Spider-Man, especially the Osborn Building, which had just been repaired and was incredibly unlucky.

However, property damage could be compensated for; the most important thing was the safety of the citizens.

George looked up at the two figures fighting in the air, his gaze serious.

Counting the losses and casualties was a job for later.

The problem now was to quickly deal with the Green Goblin, who was running amok and enjoying causing destruction.

In the air.

The Green Goblin, riding his Flying Glider, was like a slippery eel.

Spider-Man, swinging around with his Webbing, couldn't pinpoint the Green Goblin's exact location during his movements. However, thanks to his Spider-Sense, he always managed to dodge the Green Goblin's deadly attacks, then struggled to retaliate.

But this kind of entanglement often put the superhero at a disadvantage.

Spider-Man was getting a little anxious.

The Green Goblin seized the opportunity. His Flying Glider suddenly charged towards Spider-Man, and they collided head-on.

Spider-Man didn't have time to dodge and fell from mid-air onto the car roof.

Beep beep beep!

The car roof collapsed with a loud bang, and a piercing alarm sounded.

He didn't even have time to feel the pain. Seeing the Green Goblin throw another Pumpkin Bomb, Spider-Man widened his eyes and quickly flipped over to dodge.

Boom!!

The collapsing car exploded with a bang.

Flames soared into the sky, and the smell of gasoline permeated the entire street.

Seeing that the battle between the two had finally reached the ground, the NYPD Task Force quickly gathered around, firearms in hand, and opened fire on the Green Goblin.

Bang bang bang!

Flames erupted, but the bullets had no effect on the Green Goblin, being deflected by his armor.

"Task Force? You're too naive!"

The Green Goblin sneered and threw a Pumpkin Bomb near the Task Force members, which exploded with a roar.

All the Task Force members who had gathered around were taken down.

George Stacy's face was grim, filled with both heartache and sadness, but mostly anxiety.

Facing these supervillains who wield advanced technology, his NYPD Task Force really struggled to subdue the enemy through combat.

Especially since these enemies were often extremely brutal, killing people as if it were nothing, and didn't care at all about the safety of ordinary citizens.

Fortunately, Spider-Man had held off the Green Goblin for a while, giving them time to evacuate more citizens.

Whoosh!

The Green Goblin immediately spotted George.

"Killing the NYPD Commissioner should make my name even more famous in New York!"

As Norman Osborn, he was of course no stranger to the NYPD Commissioner.

The little bit of acquaintance from the past was ruthlessly cast aside. Killing intent flashed in the Green Goblin's eyes as he let out a weird laugh and swiftly charged towards George.

George widened his eyes, feeling the danger descend, as if falling into an abyss.

Time seemed to slow. His reaction speed couldn't keep up with the Green Goblin's attack. He could only watch as the enemy became a grim reaper, coming to take his life.

"Green Goblin, stop!"

Spider-Man panicked. He shouted in anger, rushing from a distance to stop the Green Goblin.

This was his father-in-law! If George died, not only would Gwen be sad, but he wouldn't be able to face her.

Furthermore, if Gwen knew he was Spider-Man and hadn't saved George at a crucial moment, their relationship might be over!

At this critical moment, the Batmobile sped across the sky.

"It's Batman!"

Those citizens standing on the streets at the edge of Manhattan, watching the giant screen displaying news about the Osborn Building's crisis and the Green Goblin's attack on New York, looked up and saw the familiar silhouette.

The Batmobile!

Rewinding time to a few minutes earlier, the Bat-Signal on the roof of the Daily Bugle building was activated under Anton's orders.

A massive beam of light pierced the night clouds.

A bat symbol materialized.

At least half the city witnessed the bat symbol.

The symbol was familiar to everyone.

As a popular landmark, not only New York, but the entire United States knew that there was a Bat-Signal on top of the Daily Bugle building, a signal that was no longer easily lit.

Tonight, the Bat-Signal once again projected its rare light.

The bat symbol undulated with the clouds, captivating the hearts of all who saw it.

People felt something stir within them and looked up into the distance.

Even citizens outside of Manhattan opened their windows, standing by them to gaze at the bat symbol in the clouds. Some even quickly went to their rooftops, searching for the figure of Batman in the sky.

Swoosh!

Many people saw a black shadow streak by like lightning.

The Batmobile!

"It's Batman!"

"Batman's here! He's arrived!"

People cheered.

After several crises, and especially after the Kingpin incident, people's trust in Batman reached an unimaginable height.

No matter what the problem, as long as Batman appeared, they firmly believed he could solve it.

Meanwhile, at the Osborn Building.

Among the police who had rushed here, those officers evacuating citizens outside the Osborn Building area sighed in relief when they saw the symbol in the sky.

It was hard to say when it started, but even the police had come to place absolute trust in Batman.

But their colleagues, the members of the NYPD Task Force, didn't have time to look up.

This included the sniper, who had been on high alert, waiting for an opportunity to attack the Green Goblin.

All of them were focused on the Green Goblin.

Seeing the Green Goblin heading towards their own chief, these people were more nervous than ever. Cold sweat quickly broke out on their foreheads and backs, and they roared in a frenzy.

The sniper gritted his teeth and pulled the trigger.

Whoosh!

An Armor-Piercing Round shot out, hitting the Green Goblin's Flying Glider.

A corner of the glider's tip was chipped off.

Green Goblin shifted his body for a moment, but still resolutely charged straight towards George Stacy.

It didn't seem to affect George Stacy's fate.

Spider-Man's eyes widened.

Too late!

At this moment, the Batmobile arrived in the sky not far away.

Spider-Man looked up, and saw the Batmobile transform. A figure ejected from the cockpit like a cannonball, breaking through the air. It seemed to generate a shockwave, stirring up billowing air currents, and at an incredible speed, rushed towards George Stacy, who was in danger.

Spider-Man was still in despair.

He calculated the distance in his heart, and found that even at Batman's current speed, it was impossible to save his father-in-law.

He was finished!

Extreme anxiety gnawed at him.

In mid-air, Batman, launched forward, raised his arm and fired the sharp Grappling Hook Gun.

Whoosh!

Not far away, on the wide street.

George was watching, eyes wide, as the Green Goblin charged towards him.

That green, evil figure kept growing larger in his vision, and he stood there as if in a daze, unmoving.

The air currents and immense impact caused by the Green Goblin's Flying Glider had already slammed into him.

George wasn't afraid. His eyes were still filled with determination.

Even if he died, he still believed that evil would not triumph over good.

"Hahaha!"

Green Goblin arrived in front of George, preparing to pierce George's chest with the sharp end of his Flying Glider.

Just then, a Grappling Hook Gun struck.

Boom!

The Grappling Hook Gun hit the Flying Glider.

The latter couldn't maintain its airborne state and tilted violently, sliding to the side and spinning.

The power system under the glider was destroyed by the Grappling Hook Gun, emitting thick black smoke.

Green Goblin was shocked, instantly falling and being thrown far away by the inertia, crashing through the wall of a nearby building.

The next moment, Batman arrived at the scene, landing on the ground in front of George.

BOOM!

The sound of a meteor crashing to earth echoed in everyone's ears.

The ground shattered, creating a deep crater.

Batman stood in the crater, his expression stern as he looked at Green Goblin. Without turning around, he waved at George.

"George, you and your team evacuate the citizens. The Task Force is no longer needed here."

Anton spoke calmly, "I'll handle Green Goblin."
