The Batmobile sped across the water, landing on a forgotten rooftop on the edge of Manhattan.
Anton pulled out his phone and sent a message to Peter Parker.
After all, they needed Spider-Man's help to revert the Lizard back to Curt Connors.
Peter, upon receiving the message, immediately transformed into Spider-Man and swung over to the rooftop.
"Doctor Connors!"
Ten minutes later, the quickly-arrived Spider-Man saw the Lizard, now whittled down to a "stick," and his eyes were filled with pain and pity.
He knew why Batman had done this.
The Lizard's recovery was extremely fast, and his physique was extraordinary. He possessed unusual drug resistance and a rapid metabolism, rendering anesthesia virtually useless.
Without resorting to this, it would be difficult to subdue the Lizard.
"Batman!"
Spider-Man's expression was complicated as he whispered, "I don't have a backup of the antidote. I need to go back to the Osborn Company to remake it. It'll take about half an hour."
"I'll stay here and watch him, and I'll contact someone to come and take Connors away after he recovers. I've already arranged a place perfectly suited for him, so you don't have to worry about him causing trouble again."
Anton nodded at Spider-Man, "Go quickly and come back soon."
"S.H.I.E.L.D.?"
Before leaving, Spider-Man asked, causing Anton to look surprised.
"Not bad."
Anton said meaningfully, "Looks like they've come after you too."
"Uh, I left them my contact info, but I didn't agree to join."
Spider-Man thought his idol was displeased, and he was a bit flustered, quickly explaining, "I'm just a high schooler. I'm not interested in being an agent."
"You did the right thing. S.H.I.E.L.D. is trouble. Now isn't the best time for you to be dealing with them." Anton nodded. "If you need to in the future, I'll talk to them. You'd best not be fooled by that Black One-Eyed Man."
"Black One-Eyed Man?" Spider-Man was puzzled. "But the person who contacted me was bald!"
"The Black One-Eyed Man is their director."
Anton replied casually and waved his hand. "Go to Osborn. The Lizard desperately needs your antidote. Otherwise, he'll probably have to endure the pain of losing a limb again."
"Understood!"
After Peter said this, he immediately swung through the city.
Watching Spider-Man leave, Anton stood in place, waiting for Coulson to send someone.
When he contacted Coulson just now, Coulson said he wasn't in New York, but he still had to handle this matter. So, he immediately dispatched a colleague near New York to arrive at Anton's location as quickly as possible and be responsible for escorting the Lizard.
The Lizard, Curt Connors, was bound with special ropes on the Batmobile, his eyes filled with hatred, glaring at Batman.
Hearing the conversation between him and Spider-Man, as well as the exchange on the other end of the phone, he suddenly sneered.
Osborn Tower.
Spider-Man used his intern ID to enter the building and took the elevator to the Limb Regeneration Department, which was under "Post-Disaster Reconstruction."
Although the Lizard incident caused fluctuations in the Osborn Company's stock, there was no doubt that, according to the true information disclosed by the Osborn Company and the New York Police Department afterward, it was an absolute blessing for the disabled.
That is, limb disabilities could really be cured.
The Lizard Gene Serum possessed the ability to repair limbs, giving the disabled the possibility of returning to normal.
The prerequisite was to crack the side effects of the "Lizard Gene Serum" and not turn them into Lizard people.
In response to the calls of countless disabled people and netizens, and considering the benefits, the Osborn Company did not stop its research on "limb regeneration."
At the board meeting, all the shareholders of the Osborn Company even unanimously agreed to continue the "limb regeneration" experiments and added research funds, striving to completely get rid of, or minimize the side effects, within the next few years, making it sufficient to reach the level of being put on the market.
It's imaginable that once the "Lizard Gene Serum" was successfully developed, the Osborn Company would become the only one of its kind in the world.
With this technology alone, the Osborn Company could make a fortune.
As Curt Connors' assistant, Peter was indispensable and naturally became a key member of the Limb Regeneration Department.
Even though he was still in high school, he already had the qualifications to officially join Osborn.
Arriving at the newly established Limb Regeneration Department, Peter found the synthesis machine and methodically began to produce the antidote.
Then.
A strange noise came from the Osborn Tower.
The sound was very faint and didn't attract much attention.
Unfortunately, Peter possessed Spider-Sense. In other words, he had the ability to foresee danger.
His temples were throbbing.
The phantom web of his Spider-Sense, the one in his mind, was like a string on a harp, vibrating incessantly.
"What's going on?"
Spider-Man hesitated for a moment, looking at the antidote that was still more than a dozen minutes away from being finished. He decided to go upstairs to see what was happening.
Inside Osborn Tower, there was a clear division of areas.
Low, medium, and high, the three sections corresponded to different departments.
For example, the lower floors housed the Osborn Company's real estate department, investment department, and so on.
The middle floors, going upwards, were mostly research institutes.
For instance, the thirty-something floors where Peter had just been were the bio-gene experiment area, spanning three floors and belonging to that department.
The top floors housed the weapons research department.
Many of the Osborn Company's new weapons were conceived here.
Of course, the actual manufacturing of the weapons took place elsewhere. This department was only responsible for design and displaying models of past weapon prototypes, along with a few actual working models.
The weapons research department was not open to the public; it was highly secretive.
Only the Osborn Company's top executives were allowed access to these floors, where they could see the prototype models and a few of the latest weapons.
Even Peter, during his first visit to the Osborn Company, only got to see it once, when he toured with Harry Osborn. He never saw it again after that.
However, a military official had recently visited the Osborn Company.
Reportedly, the meeting between the military and the Osborn Company had not gone well.
Norman Osborn was furious after the military personnel left.
As these thoughts flashed through his mind, Peter ascended in the elevator, the sense of foreboding growing stronger.
Danger! Danger!
What exactly was here?
Peter was puzzled and very nervous.
It was already after work hours.
He didn't think anyone would make him feel in danger, only that some terrible weapon might be out of control.
Ding!
The elevator reached the top floor.
This was the Osborn Company's weapons display room.
The elevator doors opened.
A figure clad in green armor, with a look of pure savagery in his eyes, turned sharply at the sound, coming face to face with Peter in the elevator.
Half an hour later.
Anton was waiting on the rooftop, bored out of his mind. He watched the Lizard, who was tied to the Batmobile, its limbs already regrown to about ten centimeters, and wondered if he should chop them off again.
The Lizard felt a chill run down its spine, sensing that its limbs might be lost again any second.
Honestly, it was almost resigned to its fate!
Just then, a huge electronic screen across the rooftop flashed an emergency news bulletin from New York City's Channel 6 News.
"Terrorist attack at Osborn Tower again! Spider-Man is battling the terrorists!"
"Reports indicate that the terrorists who attacked Osborn Tower were wearing green suits, riding Flying Gliders, and dressed like goblins. In a conversation with Spider-Man, he identified himself as the Green Goblin."
"Spider-Man is in trouble!"
"The New York Police Department has arrived on the scene and is evacuating the public. If you see this news, please immediately stay away from Osborn Tower to avoid being caught in the crossfire between the Green Goblin and Spider-Man."
The reporter, risking their life, was broadcasting from below Osborn Tower.
At the same time, behind the reporter, the Green Goblin and Spider-Man were engaged in a fierce battle.
Although it was a lively fight, Spider-Man was in a bad situation.
The Green Goblin's Flying Glider gave him superior aerial combat capabilities compared to the little spider, making him extremely mobile.
The little spider was retreating step by step, finding it difficult to control the situation.
On the rooftop.
Anton frowned as he watched the news, staring at the little Spider-Man in the image. He guessed that Spider-Man had stumbled upon the Green Goblin at the Osborn Company.
Tonight, the Green Goblin wasn't at his own mansion; he'd gone to the Osborn Company!
But then again, how had Spider-Man gotten beaten up again?
It seemed that after this, he'd have to give Spider-Man some serious martial arts training to help him grow quickly, so he wouldn't have to get beaten up every time before powering up.
