Chapter 492 - Chapter 492: A New Disciple Slot

Chapter 492: A New Disciple Slot

Mugetsu finished organizing the memories, then let out a quiet breath.

"Gathering chakra to condense power… skills extracted from high level scrolls really are something else," he thought.

He did not have much impression of Focus Punch from the Pokémon anime, but he clearly remembered how it worked in the games.

In the games, Focus Punch was a Fighting type move with a power of 150. Its defining trait was simple: it gathered strength first, then released it in one devastating blow.

After the system localized it into the Naruto world, the effect became a special method of "gathering chakra." It condensed every shred of chakra and physical strength in the body into the fist, then unleashed a punch of extreme power.

From Mugetsu's perspective, Focus Punch perfectly embodied the idea of "might makes right."

There was no trick to it. No flourish. Just pure taijutsu, compressing everything the body could produce into one ultimate strike.

The drawback was also obvious. The "gathering" required time, which meant the timing of Focus Punch mattered more than anything. In a one on one fight, you had to create an opening long enough to focus.

In group battles, the problem shrank dramatically. Teammates could buy you that time by holding the enemy back.

Mugetsu took out Might Guy's training plan and added Focus Punch to it.

The essence of Focus Punch was not actually the "punch."

It was the "focus," the method of gathering chakra itself.

If the method was mastered deeply enough, it could be applied to other techniques too. Focus Leg. Focus Kick. Any strike that could carry condensed power.

At the end of the third semester, Mugetsu returned to the Ninja Academy.

It had been more than half a year since he last taught there.

In the first semester, he often sent a shadow clone to teach Class 3 1, and when he had time, he would occasionally show up in person.

In the second semester, he was dispatched to the East Bank Battlefield. He had no time for academy lessons at all, so he could only invite a well respected academy instructor to substitute.

In the third semester, Konoha suffered heavy losses in the war. While expanding enrollment, the village also accelerated training. Third year students could graduate early and become shinobi directly, so Class 3 1 spent the entire third semester on ninja internships and did not need formal classroom teaching.

Even though he had not taught, Mugetsu had returned once after coming back from the battlefield, mostly to visit his former colleagues.

But with the drastic changes in his status and strength, he could clearly feel their restraint.

They addressed him as Lord Mugetsu.

When they realized he still carried the same attitude as before, they relaxed a little. Still, Mugetsu could sense the discomfort in Ueda Aya and Ikeya Yu.

He did not stay long. After a brief chat, he simply strolled around the school.

Because the third and fourth year students had been on internships, he did not run into many students he once taught. After all, aside from those upper grades, only a small number of second year students in the entire academy could even be considered his students.

Today was different.

The internships had ended. The semester was over. Third and fourth year students had returned, restoring the academy's usual liveliness.

"Teacher Mugetsu, good morning."

A respectful female voice greeted him as soon as he stepped deeper into the academy grounds.

"Mm. Good morning," Mugetsu replied, smiling as he nodded to Yugao.

He had a strong impression of her. Yugao had joined the first holiday special training when she was in second year, and she had participated in all three special trainings where Mugetsu served as the main instructor.

Their conversation drew attention immediately.

The surrounding students also noticed him, the legendary teacher who had left countless stories behind in the Ninja Academy.

"Teacher Mugetsu, your title is so cool!" someone shouted excitedly, referring to the name Raging Sun Mugetsu.

"Teacher Mugetsu, will you take on newly graduated genin this year?" another asked, desperate to know if they had any chance of joining him after graduation.

"Raging Sun Mugetsu, the one who made huge contributions on the East Bank Battlefield?" younger students were more interested in the title than his identity as a teacher.

With only one mouth, Mugetsu could not answer hundreds of questions one by one, so he chose the most frequently repeated one.

"Barring unforeseen circumstances, I will not be taking on graduating genin for the next few years," Mugetsu said.

Strictly speaking, he had never been an official squad leader. Obito and Kakashi's leader was Minato. Mugetsu had only helped while Minato was busy.

Many students showed disappointment. Those who had been taught by him understood exactly how fortunate it was to become his disciple.

"Everyone, please return to your classrooms. The exam will begin shortly," Mugetsu said, dispersing the gathered crowd, then walking toward Class 3 1.

When he entered the classroom, most of the students were already there.

"An undefeated life is truly as lonely as snow," Anko declared with her arms crossed, sitting on top of a desk like a lonely master. "I hope we get some challenging missions after graduation."

Kotetsu broke first, his face twisting. Everyone was graduating, so why was she acting like she had already conquered the world?

"How are you undefeated?" Kotetsu shot back. "I remember you never got first place in your grade. No, you never even got first place in our class once."

As good friends, Kotetsu remembered Anko's rankings too clearly. Her rank depended entirely on how many rounds she ran into Shisui.

"When have I not been first in third year?" Anko snapped, waving her hands. "The past is the past. Now is now. Why are you digging up old stuff? Why not bring up when I was just born?"

Kotetsu opened his mouth to respond, but Anko charged right over him.

"If you are weak, train more. If you cannot handle losing, do not take exams," Anko said, chin raised. "You could not get first back then, and you still cannot get first now."

For an entire year, Anko had dominated third year.

Kotetsu's expression did not change. He replied slowly, each word landing like a kunai.

"But I did get a perfect score on the theory exam."

Anko froze for half a beat.

Kotetsu continued, voice still calm.

"That does not seem like much of an achievement. Surely no one here has not gotten a perfect score, right?"

Kotetsu's fists clenched.

Anko looked like she wanted to punch his teeth out.

Around them, their classmates collectively stiffened.

They had not said a single word, yet they were already being dragged into the blast radius.

Kotetsu did not even turn his head, but the entire room seemed to feel personally attacked.

Izumo cleared his throat, then scolded Kotetsu outwardly with a serious face.

"Kotetsu, how can you say that?" Izumo said, sounding righteous.

Then, without missing a beat, he added the part that stabbed even deeper.

"While a perfect score is not difficult, it still takes effort to study. For some people whose heads are filled with nothing but muscles, it is certainly impossible."

Anko's eye twitched.

"Damn it," she growled, rolling up her sleeves. "I think you two did not eat enough breakfast and want to taste my fists!"

But before she could move, she realized the atmosphere had changed.

People were surrounding them.

They were not just watching. They were closing in.

"I have put up with you for a long time!" someone shouted. "Curse all you want, but why drag me into it?"

"Every time before an exam you say you are not in good shape, then you still score high," another complained. "I cannot take it anymore!"

"Today is the last day at the Ninja Academy, brothers!" someone yelled. "Let us go together! If we do not fight now, we might not get another chance!"

Anko went dumbfounded.

She had not expected the three of them to have accumulated this much resentment in silence.

Izumo tried to slip away from the center and merge with the crowd.

"Actually, I have also put up with Anko and Kotetsu for a long time," Izumo said quickly. "I want to join you too."

But by then, the three troublemakers were completely surrounded. Izumo could not squeeze out.

Kotetsu reacted instantly.

"My brother and I are of one heart," he declared without hesitation. "A blow to Izumo hurts Anko, and a blow to Anko hurts my heart. So you should just hit Izumo and Anko!"

Anko stared at him, genuinely impressed by how fast her so called brothers sold her out.

She opened her mouth to argue, but someone spoke over her.

"Their strength is not weak," Anko said quickly, changing tactics with lightning speed. "I am first in the grade. I will help you subdue them!"

No one believed her.

The students in the circle cracked their knuckles.

"Teacher Mugetsu."

A student near the door spotted Mugetsu walking in.

Instantly, every head turned.

It had been a long time since they last saw him.

"Everyone, long time no see," Mugetsu said, smiling as he greeted them. "While I was not teaching you, you did not slack off in training, did you?"

The familiar gentle smile made the students light up.

"No!" someone shouted.

"Our class has always been the strongest in the whole school!"

They were worried that slipping would reflect badly on Mugetsu, so they had studied and trained hard. The learning atmosphere in their class had stayed excellent.

"Yes. You are all amazing," Mugetsu said, nodding in affirmation.

The students grinned. Many of them came early today just to see him sooner.

Since Teacher Mugetsu was here, Izumo seized the moment and put on a serious face.

"Everyone, please sit properly for the last lesson," Izumo said firmly.

The surrounding students looked reluctant, but they did not want to disturb Mugetsu's class and began to disperse.

"Sometimes, it is good to vent your emotions," Mugetsu said as he walked toward the podium, his back to them.

Anko and Kotetsu, along with Izumo, really did not act like decent people sometimes.

The students understood instantly.

The loose circle tightened again.

The trio froze.

Was this really how their reunion was going to go?

"Cough. Cough."

Mugetsu's light cough echoed.

Anko immediately felt relief flood her chest.

She knew Teacher Mugetsu would not just stand there and watch.

"The exam is coming up," Mugetsu said calmly. "Be careful not to hurt your hands."

Anko sucked in a sharp breath, staring at him with wide eyes.

That was not what she expected.

"Brothers, let us go!"

With a shout, the students "politely" patted the trio in an orderly way.

After three years as classmates, they were not going to truly fight. Anko and the other two were troublemakers, but they also had a talent for creating laughter and bringing energy to the class.

After the horseplay, everyone returned to their seats obediently.

"Time really flies," Kotetsu muttered, unable to help himself. "I cannot believe we are about to graduate and become shinobi."

This time he truly meant it. Their school days felt like yesterday, and graduation arrived faster than he imagined.

"Yeah," Izumo said, nodding with a trace of melancholy.

His original reason for studying hard was to become a good student and attract girls.

Now he was about to graduate, and he still had not dated anyone.

He reviewed his social circle carefully and realized, with a quiet despair, that he did not have a single close female friend.

As for Anko, could she even be counted as a girl?

"Kotetsu," Izumo asked curiously, "how are things with Mihui, your neighbor?"

Izumo was honestly jealous that Kotetsu had a childhood friend.

"Do not even mention it," Kotetsu sighed. "We have not seen each other in half a year."

Izumo made an exaggerated sigh.

"It is fine. With our talent, we will definitely become excellent shinobi in the future," Izumo said, barely holding back a laugh. "Then we will attract many beautiful girls."

Being single was not scary.

What was scary was when your good brother found someone first.

"You two only know how to talk," Anko snapped. "With your strength, you will at best attract girls by being gatekeepers."

Izumo and Kotetsu exchanged glances and smirked.

Such a low level taunt did not anger them. It just amused them.

They were among the top three in their grade. There was no way they would end up as gatekeepers.

Kotetsu lifted his chin slightly.

"You are only talking about us," he fired back. "Why do you not compare yourself to Shisui? Shisui is already a jonin. He earned the name Shisui of the Body Flicker on the battlefield."

Izumo acted like he was defending Anko, but his words were even sharper.

"Kotetsu, that is not how it works," Izumo said seriously. "There are differences even among people who are first in their grade. Some are first because they have unmatched strength. Others are first because they outlasted stronger people."

Anko's cheeks started to flush.

Izumo and Kotetsu practically heard warning bells in the air.

Right then, the preparatory bell for the exam rang, and another invigilator stepped into the classroom.

Mugetsu glanced toward the door.

It was Hisanobu, the head of academic affairs and the leader among the instructors.

"Mugetsu," Hisanobu greeted with a smile.

Before coming, Hisanobu had thought carefully about how to address him.

Vice Principal Mugetsu sounded ordinary and did not feel right.

Calling him Principal was impossible too, since the Principal's identity was special. The current Hokage held that title. It was not something to be used casually.

In the end, Hisanobu decided it was simplest to call him by name.

After all, he was Mugetsu's senior and had been his superior for quite some time. Addressing him directly was fine.

"Senior Hisanobu," Mugetsu replied with a smile.

Hisanobu walked to the front of the room and announced this year's graduation exam topic.

"The graduation assessment is Transformation Technique."

The students below remained calm.

Whether it was Transformation Technique, Clone Technique, or Substitution Technique, they were all extremely proficient. No matter what basic technique was tested, they could handle it.

When the exam bell rang, Mugetsu announced the start.

"The graduation exam begins now. When your name is called, follow us to the next classroom for the test."

"Anko."

Anko hummed a little tune and strutted after Mugetsu into the next classroom.

"You have three minutes to observe the photo's details, then use Transformation Technique," Hisanobu said, taking out a photo and handing it to Anko.

Anko took it, gave it a casual glance, and immediately formed hand seals.

"Transformation Technique!"

A puff of white smoke flashed.

In the next moment, a person identical to the one in the photo stood in front of Hisanobu.

Hisanobu was not surprised.

Class 3 1 was the strongest class, and after Shisui graduated, Anko was their strongest student. This was only natural.

Hisanobu wrote down a perfect score, then handed her a forehead protector.

Anko did not leave immediately. She looked at Mugetsu with bright eyes.

"Teacher Mugetsu, if I do well on the exam, will there be dango?"

"Yes," Mugetsu replied, nodding.

"Yay!" Anko shouted, skipping out of the classroom.

"Mihui Taniako."

"Izumo."

One by one, Class 3 1 finished their exams.

As Hisanobu looked at the sheet filled with high scores, he could not help exclaiming.

"If you do not take another class in the future, Mugetsu, this might be the strongest class in the history of the Ninja Academy."

Since joining the academy, this was the first time he had ever seen a class this strong.

And it was not just because of a monstrous genius like Shisui.

Not a single student in Class 3 1 was weak. Every one of them was excellent.

Even the lowest ranked students in Class 3 1 would still be top students in other classes.

"More outstanding people will appear in the future," Mugetsu replied calmly. He did not believe any "strongest" title could last forever.

As time moved forward, perhaps a hundred years from now, perhaps even a few hundred, things he could not even imagine would appear. Students of that era surpassing the old era would be natural.

"Kotetsu."

When Hisanobu and Mugetsu recorded the last perfect score and handed out the last forehead protector, the graduation exam for Class 3 1 concluded.

[System: Under your diligent guidance, the students of Class 1 have made great progress in study and strength over three years of hard work, successfully graduating as genin. Reward obtained: Disciple Slot plus 1.]

Mugetsu froze.

He expected a reward settlement.

He did not expect it to be this good.

He originally thought it would be a few thousand chakra, plus one or two master level ninjutsu.

Instead, it was a new disciple slot.

For Mugetsu, a disciple slot was the best kind of reward, surpassing even perfect level skills.

Because with another slot, he would have more chances to level skills and his rate of chakra accumulation would increase as well.

"I will use it on Yamato tonight," Mugetsu thought immediately.

Right now, Yamato was the most suitable candidate.

First, Yamato had Hashirama cells and extraordinary chakra potential. Chakra quantity was always the stat Mugetsu wanted most.

Second, Yamato was four years younger than Kakashi, only seven years old, with massive room to grow, which meant more chances to trigger rewards.

Third, Yamato already held strong goodwill toward Mugetsu, making it easier to raise trust.

After the exam ended, Mugetsu walked out of the classroom and was immediately surrounded by the students of Class 3 1 who had been waiting.

They guided him back into their classroom and brought him to the podium.

Then each student put on their forehead protector properly, adjusted their appearance, and stood in place.

All at once, they bowed to Mugetsu and spoke in unison.

"Teacher Mugetsu, thank you for guiding us these past three years!"

A natural smile appeared on Mugetsu's face.

"Thank you all for working with me these past three years," Mugetsu said sincerely, looking across the room at every familiar face, then bowing slightly.

It had been nearly three years since Mugetsu transmigrated into the shinobi world.

He had spent most of that time at the Ninja Academy.

The first year was the hardest.

He awakened as a Root chunin, and the war was already beginning to show its teeth.

His superior could send subordinates to die at any moment, and the looming danger of a great war made Mugetsu restless.

To survive in a world like this, he worked brutally hard. He did everything he could.

He could learn a ninjutsu in half a day of class. To master more, he built a good guy image, filled his schedule with lessons, and pushed himself to become stronger.

To avoid becoming Danzo's disposable pawn, he subtly let the Hokage discover his various talents. Because of that, even though his strength was not yet enough, he escaped Root.

The reason he still responded to Danzo's orders now was simple. Danzo could no longer threaten his life, and Danzo even provided more help than danger.

In his first year, Mugetsu was either in class or on his way to class.

Besides regular lessons, he organized holiday special training, spending most of the year teaching.

In the second year, internships reduced his teaching for one semester, but overall he still taught in person, and he even held a large special training session.

In the third year, when he was in Konoha, he still maintained attendance with his shadow clone during the first semester, with his main body occasionally checking in.

And he had only been here for three years total.

Spending that much time with Class 3 1 made it impossible not to develop feelings.

"Congratulations on becoming shinobi," Mugetsu said. "But being a shinobi is not the end of training. It is the beginning. Even after graduation, do not forget to train."

Under his guidance, Class 3 1 was exceptionally outstanding.

If they took the Chunin Exams, some of them could be promoted directly in a normal year.

But in the wider shinobi world, even they were still too weak.

In a world this dangerous, weakness led to death.

"Teacher Mugetsu, just wait for my good news!" Anko declared confidently. "In a few years, the name of the genius Anko will echo through Konoha!"

Shisui became famous at eight. She was a little slower, so she would become famous at eleven or twelve.

"I will work hard to become an excellent shinobi," another student promised.

Many of them set their minimum goal as jonin. Only by becoming jonin did they feel they could truly live up to Mugetsu's teachings.

Kotetsu raised his fist.

"I want to become a high ranking official in Konoha and help Teacher Mugetsu build a statue at the Ninja Academy!"

He had already discussed their future path with Izumo.

First, they would serve diligently as shinobi and train until they were excellent.

Then, after the next Hokage appeared, they would use their abilities to become the Hokage's guards, rise step by step, and eventually help Mugetsu build a massive statue in the academy.

This time, Anko did not mock him.

She suddenly felt like she had fallen behind.

Even if the two troublemakers, Kotetsu and Izumo, were not always reliable, they could certainly talk big.

"I look forward to the day you succeed," Mugetsu said, smiling gently as he blessed them.

Next came photos.

Mugetsu took many group pictures with the class using the camera he had bought.

Some students wanted individual photos with him as well, and Mugetsu agreed to each request.

The entire day passed in chatting and taking pictures.

Only when afternoon dismissal arrived did the students finally have no choice but to say farewell and leave.

Mugetsu watched them go, then left the academy and headed for Tsunade's house.

As soon as he stepped inside, Tsunade immediately leaned forward, peeking into the bag in his hand.

"What good news did you run into today?" she asked. "You bought so many delicious dishes."

She always claimed she wanted a feast every day, but Mugetsu did not indulge her. At most, he would make one especially lavish dinner every seven days.

Mugetsu smiled.

"What, if it is not good news, you will not eat?"

"Of course I will eat," Tsunade replied without shame. "It would be best if I could eat like this every day."

"Lady Tsunade, you should sleep a little longer," Mugetsu said calmly.

A life like that only existed in dreams.

Tsunade flopped onto the sofa immediately.

"Shizune, call me when Mugetsu finishes cooking."

Since Mugetsu would not have time to play Ninja Killer with her while cooking, using the waiting time to nap was perfect.

After dinner, Mugetsu went to the training ground to instruct Yamato.

This time, he did not waste words.

"Yamato," Mugetsu asked directly, "do you want to become my disciple? Like Kakashi and the others?"

Given Yamato's personality, direct was better.

Yamato's eyes lit up, as if something unbelievable just fell from the sky. He nodded so fast it almost looked painful.

"Yes!"

[System: Establish master disciple relationship with Yamato?]

Mugetsu's eyes sharpened.

He selected yes without hesitation.

[System: Relationship established. Current trust level: 3. Disciple Yamato has unlocked Disciple Training Returns to Master and Disciple Return.]

Yamato did not disappoint him.

He set a new record for the highest initial trust level, reaching trust level three the moment the relationship formed.

Mugetsu now had six system recognized disciples.

After completing a week of almost masochistic practical combat training, Might Guy sought out Teacher Chen again the next morning for another challenge.

"You want to?" Teacher Chen raised an eyebrow. "I do have time. But are you sure you have improved since last time?"

He did not mind fighting Guy.

He was only worried Guy would misjudge his strength, lose repeatedly, and eventually damage his confidence.

"Definitely!" Might Guy flashed two rows of bright white teeth, laughing with complete confidence. "Teacher Chen, this time I am stronger!"

His body had broken through to the point where it could sustain the Fifth Gate and Rock Breathing Chakra Mode together. On top of that, he had endured an entire week of pressure training. He was overflowing with confidence.

"Then let us try," Teacher Chen agreed.

Shiranui Genma and Ebisu stopped their training when they saw this and moved farther away.

"Guy is ridiculous," Genma muttered, feeling numb. "How long has it been? And he got stronger again?"

His own strength was far behind Guy's.

How could Guy improve faster than him?

This was not shinobi logic. Should it not get harder to improve the stronger you became?

"Has it not always been like this?" Ebisu adjusted his sunglasses. "Are you not used to it yet?"

To Ebisu, Guy was even more outrageous back in the academy. Somehow he climbed from dead last to genius without anyone noticing the exact moment it happened.

Both fighters took their stances.

Ebisu lifted his voice.

"Battle start!"

"Eight Gates, Gate of Limit, open!"

The instant Ebisu spoke, Might Guy opened the Fifth Gate. Chakra surged through his entire body, and the pressure of his aura made fallen leaves tremble without wind.

"Rock Breathing Chakra Mode!"

Right after, Might Guy pushed his breathing to the extreme, trading constantly burning chakra for a full spectrum boost. Defense, speed, strength, everything rose sharply.

Teacher Chen narrowed his eyes.

"He really has gotten stronger."

For the first time in a while, he felt real pressure.

Teacher Chen condensed chakra quickly, his expression turning more serious than usual.

A teacher being surpassed by a disciple was a joyful thing.

But being surpassed this early still left a trace of unwillingness.

"Leaf Strong Whirlwind!"

Might Guy condensed chakra into his legs, roared with excitement, and shot forward like a green flash.

Teacher Chen leapt onto a tree and dodged.

Boom!

The sheer force of Guy's kick snapped nearby trees, sending them crashing down.

"Leaf Hand Blade Double!"

Missing once, Guy followed instantly, swinging both hands and firing two transparent air currents at Teacher Chen. They came from different angles, sealing off his space.

Teacher Chen remained calm.

He moved swiftly, kicking one air current away and slipping past the other.

Guy seized the opening and closed the distance in an instant, launching another powerful whirlwind kick at Teacher Chen.

Teacher Chen's strength was inferior to Guy's, but his technique was refined. He used skill to strip away part of Guy's force and stabilized the exchange for the moment.

That feeling, suppressing an enemy head on with pure strength, made Guy feel unbelievably refreshed.

Like taking a sip of ice cold soda on a scorching summer day, clearing his whole body and mind.

There was no helping it.

For a full week, Guy had been brutally beaten by Mugetsu.

Now, fighting Teacher Chen to a standstill, even edging ahead at times, felt like heaven.

Bang. Bang. Bang.

Guy grew more excited as he fought.

His fists struck heavier. His movements sharpened. His tempo climbed.

Teacher Chen began to look strained.

Guy had not only become stronger, he had become more cautious.

Teacher Chen presented several openings, but Guy did not bite once.

Suddenly, Teacher Chen smiled.

He was celebrating.

Celebrating that he had met a disciple like Might Guy during his final peak.

For a taijutsu shinobi, the peak period was far shorter than for ninjutsu shinobi. Experience and technique could not completely make up for a declining body.

As age rose, a taijutsu shinobi's training could only maintain strength. Growing stronger became difficult, and weakness could even creep in.

Rather than aging and fading over time, being surpassed by a disciple at his peak was also a kind of blessing.

"Leaf Dragon God!"

Teacher Chen used Leaf Dragon God proactively.

With the burst of powerful chakra, a massive azure dragon formed out of pure force, tearing apart the trees around them.

"Leaf Dragon God!"

Might Guy shouted with exhilaration. A massive surge of chakra erupted from him, a whirlwind of blue flashing, and in the next instant, an azure dragon no less imposing than Teacher Chen's appeared.

Rumble!

The two dragons collided, producing a terrifying impact.

The ground exploded and cracked under the shock. Grey dust and mist swallowed the area.

Within eighty meters, not a single intact tree remained.

Only shattered rock, loose earth, and broken wood littered the battlefield.

Genma and Ebisu retreated rapidly to avoid being caught by the shockwaves.

At last, the haze thinned.

The two dragons vanished.

Teacher Chen braced himself with both hands, fighting not to fall. His body was covered in small wounds.

Might Guy was battered too, but the confident smile never left his face. He stood firmly on his feet.

Without even brushing the dust off his body, Guy stepped forward and helped Teacher Chen up.

"Guy," Teacher Chen said, emotion thick in his voice, "you are my most outstanding student. If it is you, perhaps you can truly make the entire shinobi world recognize taijutsu again."

When Teacher Chen was eleven, he had only recently become a chunin.

Might Guy, at eleven, had defeated him, the man known as Konoha's strongest taijutsu user.

Teacher Chen could see a road stretching endlessly ahead of Guy.

"I will!" Might Guy laughed loudly, giving a thumbs up. "I will become the strongest taijutsu shinobi in the shinobi world!"

Yellow dust and crimson blood covered him, but they could not hide the confidence blazing out from inside.

He had achieved his small goal, and he was genuinely happy, even while seriously injured.

"Who should I choose as my next opponent?" Might Guy asked, already eager to keep moving forward.

"Stop talking and let us get to the hospital," Genma said, finally snapping back to reality.

Genma and Ebisu rushed over, supporting both of them toward Konoha Hospital.

"He actually won," Genma muttered, still feeling unreal. "The strongest taijutsu user at eleven?"

They were from the same period.

They even had the same guiding teacher.

So how did you end up this outrageous?

"I was really lucky during team assignments," Ebisu said quietly, as if trying to comfort himself.

Not only was his teacher good.

Even his teammates were terrifying.
