Chapter 491: Might Guy's Life Mission Settlement

Kakashi and Shisui stood face to face. Kakashi stared straight into Shisui's blood red Three Tomoe Sharingan without blinking.
"What level of intensity was that just now?" Kakashi asked.
He had dispelled the genjutsu almost the instant Shisui cast it.
"Level one intensity," Shisui answered. "Looks like your training method really is working."
They had divided the training into six levels, based on how much chakra was injected into the bending spoon. Injecting one fifth of the chakra was level one intensity, and two fifths was level two.
Level six intensity was special. It required refining and injecting chakra at the same time to reach the ultimate genjutsu pressure.
Under normal combat conditions, level one was already Shisui's practical limit. He could not afford to waste too much chakra strengthening the bending spoon. Otherwise, he would gain an advantage only to discover he no longer had enough chakra left to use ninjutsu, which would be beyond embarrassing.
Before this genjutsu training began, Shisui had used genjutsu to control Kakashi and win their internal battle.
After a month and a half of focused practice, Kakashi could now break free from Shisui's genjutsu instantly. The results were undeniable.
"Thanks, Shisui," Kakashi said, and his tone was genuinely sincere.
Shisui had helped him a lot. Kakashi had not expected the training to progress this smoothly, nor to improve this much in just over a month.
Transparent World was his most important ability right now. Strengthening Transparent World also raised the ceiling of his combat power.
"It's nothing," Shisui replied with a faint smile. "I got to refine my genjutsu too."
They might fight each other with everything they had in internal battles, and they might even hide their own information for a month beforehand to gain an edge.
But they were comrades who had gone through life and death together. They were also Mugetsu's disciples. When they could help, they helped.
Next, Shisui had Zorua try as well, but Zorua's genjutsu did not affect Kakashi at all.
"So the stronger Transparent World gets, the harder it is to fall into genjutsu," Kakashi murmured, nodding as he thought it through. "And the faster you can dispel it."

Kakashi silently turned away and resumed his training, swinging his sword with steady focus.

What changed was his body. It had finally caught up, allowing him to stack those powers normally.
"As long as I master No Thought Strike, everything will be fine," Kakashi thought, striking again and again with unwavering determination.
"When are we going to start banning one ability in internal battles?" Obito asked through clenched teeth, staring at Might Guy. The pressure was crushing.
He would rather give up using his Sharingan if it meant Might Guy could not use the Eight Gates or Rock Breathing Chakra Mode.

He believed that if he could withstand the pressure of fighting Mugetsu, then challenging Teacher Chen again would feel like normal training after taking off heavy weights.
"Good," Mugetsu said after a brief moment of thought.
This time, he decided to use his main body.
Mugetsu rarely fought his disciples with his true body because his shadow clone was usually more than enough.
But Might Guy wanted pressure, and Mugetsu felt pure taijutsu would be the most effective way to deliver it.
That also meant he could not use a shadow clone, because a shadow clone's defense was too poor for close quarters combat.
To avoid disrupting the other disciples' training, Mugetsu took Might Guy farther away.
Might Guy knew how terrifying Mugetsu was, so he went all out from the first moment, stacking the Fifth Gate and Rock Breathing Chakra Mode.

"I'll challenge Teacher Chen again in a week," Might Guy declared, eyes burning. "I have to win this time!"

After leaving the South Border Forest, Mugetsu went to Tsunade's house as usual to make dinner, then returned to his home in the main district.
He glanced at the extraction scroll in his bag, turned on the faucet to wash his hands, and then activated the extraction.
