I returned to the servant quarters after Alpha Enzo had walked away. The guards led me there without a word, only leaving after making sure I was lying on my bed, to my amazement.

The thoughts alone made my head spin, and I jumped to my feet when I couldn't hold back the hot sweat beading on my forehead or the sudden tenseness in the room. It felt like the air had suddenly boiled to eighty degrees, and I doubted I could hold on any longer if it continued.
