Rumble—
At that moment, New York City — once filled with towering skyscrapers — had been completely torn apart. Every building was reduced to rubble. The city that had once represented prosperity now lay in ruins, barren and devastated.
"Cough… cough…"
From deep within the debris, a dim golden light burst upward, breaking through the ruins and illuminating the darkened skies above the ruined city.
Captain Marvel — Carol Danvers — hovered weakly in the air, coughing up blood. Her face was pale, one hand clutching her chest. Several of her ribs and her sternum had been fractured during the battle.
If not for the cosmic energy constantly repairing her body, she might not have even been able to move.
"Is Allens really human? Why does he feel even scarier than any alien I've ever faced…"
Floating in midair, Carol stared at Allens in disbelief. Down below, Allens stood calmly amidst the ruins. The destruction around him didn't seem to have affected him in the slightest.
"You're still alive? I have to admit, Carol — your endurance is impressive."
Allens looked up at her with faint admiration. In terms of sheer physical strength, Carol Danvers was on par with the Hulk. Even Allens' enhanced super-soldier body couldn't quite compare.
He had literally torn New York apart with a single punch.
Although he seemed fine on the surface, Allens' body was actually at its limit. His physical strength had been pushed beyond exhaustion — his right fist trembled slightly, the clear sign of fatigue.
"Hey, Mr. Allens… you're exhausted too, aren't you?"
Carol's eyes glimmered. She could sense his condition, though she didn't dare to act rashly. Allens possessed far too many abilities — even weakened, he was dangerously unpredictable.
"Oh? Ms. Danvers, are you afraid of my powers?"
Allens smirked. His telepathy allowed him to read her thoughts with ease. The fear in her heart only deepened his confidence.
And indeed, his list of powers was terrifyingly long — persuasion, illusion, psychokinesis, future sight, enhanced strength, mechanical control, molecular penetration, and his core ability: perceiving the laws of all things.
Through the Heroes Rising System, Allens had become something beyond human.
After slaughtering the Inhumans, he had gained freezing powers, absorption, duplication, flight, electric control, quantum teleportation, metal melting, microwave emission, vibration control, and life-force absorption.
And after killing the Skrulls, he'd obtained their shapeshifting ability.
Even in his current weakened state, Allens could still crush a heavily injured Captain Marvel with ease.
Boom!
Carol landed across from him. Between them stretched a deep, jagged rift — the scar left behind by their catastrophic clash. Their eyes met across the chasm.
In Carol's gaze, Allens saw something — unshakable resolve, the spirit of a hero.
Just as the tense silence settled — the calm before the storm — something flickered high above Earth's atmosphere.
Inside the Kree Judgment ship, Veronica's holographic projection flickered erratically.
"Warning: target identified. Superpower user Allens is currently in a weakened state. Initiating temporal anchor. Beginning time-space synchronization."
Veronica's data form shimmered like a digital waterfall as her cold mechanical voice echoed through the ship.
At that same moment, inside the cabin, War Machine — Colonel James "Rhodey" Rhodes — suddenly found his new Quantum Combat Armor glowing with intense white light.
"What the hell, Veronica? What's going on!?" Rhodey shouted as his armor went haywire. He could feel something strange happening — his very cells were shrinking at an alarming rate.
"Colonel Rhodes," Veronica's emotionless voice replied, "according to the future timeline observed by Doctor Strange, the moment Allens uses his Vibration Power to destroy New York is also the point where his strength is at its lowest. This is the one and only opportunity for victory."
"What—?"
Rhodey's eyes widened in horror as his body rapidly aged — wrinkles forming, hair whitening. Within seconds, he looked decades older.
"Veronica! What's happening to me!?" Rhodey's voice cracked, frail and trembling.
"Do not panic, Colonel. The Quantum Armor has transformed into a localized quantum field. Time inside your body has become unstable and chaotic. You are now experiencing accelerated aging… followed by regression."
As she spoke, Rhodey's body continued to shrink — until he had literally turned into an infant.
If the baby could speak, he would've been cursing nonstop.
2023 — Wakanda.
The Avengers had gathered for Tony Stark's funeral. The atmosphere was heavy and silent.
Even though Thanos had been defeated, it wasn't truly the end. To secure victory once and for all, they had to face the past — and stop Allens, the superbeing who had awakened across time and space.
"Are we just supposed to wait here?" Peter Parker asked nervously. "Mr. Strange, can't you, like… use your magic to see if we'll win this time?"
Doctor Stephen Strange let out a long sigh. "Without the Time Stone, I can't monitor the timeline for long. After our previous time travels, there are now over ten million divergent realities. Even I can't predict which one leads to victory."
He sat cross-legged, conjuring a red magic circle that spun slowly in his hands.
Beside him, Wanda Maximoff — the Scarlet Witch — sat motionless, eyes closed, face twisted in pain as energy pulsed faintly around her.
"Uh… sorry to interrupt again, Mr. Doctor Strange, but… what exactly are you doing?" Peter asked hesitantly. "I mean, I get that you're trying to awaken Wanda's power, but… is that even safe?"
Peter's rapid-fire questions broke the silence. The Avengers all turned to look at him.
Peter raised both hands defensively. "Okay, okay, I get it — I'll shut up."
