"DXD: Multiverse Journey"Chapter 196: Origami's Breakdown—The First Star Grail Miracle

Origami's hands trembled as she faced Shuo Nangong's warning. Fear gnawed at her, but the need for answers burned even brighter.

She drew a shaky breath, then squared her shoulders.

"Please… show me. I have to know the truth."

Shuo met her gaze, nodded, and snapped his fingers.

The world shifted.

Flames roared before her. Origami's heart pounded—part terror, part hope.

This was it. If she could kill the Flame Spirit now, everything would change. Her parents would live.

But then she saw Kotori.

Confusion stabbed through her. Kotori's powers were sealed—she wasn't the culprit.

Origami's mind spun, searching for answers.

That's when she spotted it: the mosaic phantom, hovering in the sky.

The same entity that had turned her into a Spirit.

The source of all her suffering.

Hatred surged.

Origami summoned the Angel of Extinction's light blade, unleashing a barrage of radiant feathers—each one splitting into countless floating cannons. Light rained down on the phantom from every direction.

The phantom reeled, scrambling to dodge the relentless assault.

"I won't let you get away!"

Origami's voice was raw, her fury absolute.

She poured every ounce of rage into the attack, the sky itself shaking with the force of her hatred.

The phantom took a direct hit from the Angel's Crown and vanished in a burst of light.

Origami gasped, hope flickering.

Had she done it? Had she saved her parents?

She looked down—

—and her world shattered.

There, beside two lifeless bodies, sat her younger self.

The little girl's eyes blazed with tears and vengeance, staring up at Origami with pure, unfiltered hatred.

"Unforgivable! I'll kill you! I'll kill you! I swear I'll kill you!!"

Origami staggered, mind reeling.

"No… no, it can't be… Why? Why?!"

Realization crashed down.

She was the one.

She was her parents' killer.

Guilt and horror flooded her soul. Origami collapsed, clutching her head, her whole body wracked with sobs.

"AHHHHHHHHH!"

Her scream tore through the sky.

Black feathers swirled around her, eyes glazed with icy violence—a darkness that threatened to swallow the world whole.

Despair consumed her. The Spirit Crystal inverted, twisting her power into something monstrous: the Devil King of Light—Salvation's Demon King.

The vision froze.

All eyes turned to Origami.

She was shattered. Tears streamed down her face, her lips trembling, unable to speak.

Shuo moved quickly, wrapping her in a gentle embrace.

"Origami… This isn't your fault. You only wanted to save them. It was an accident—don't torture yourself."

She didn't respond. Her eyes were empty, tears falling unchecked.

Even Tohka, who'd always butted heads with Origami, looked on with silent sympathy.

Years spent chasing a phantom murderer.

And now, the truth: she was the culprit all along.

It was enough to break anyone.

Shuo stroked her white hair, voice soft but steady.

"I know it's cruel. But you don't have to despair. Reviving your parents? For me, that's easy."

Origami's head snapped up, hope and disbelief warring in her gaze.

"Really? You… you can bring them back?"

Shuo's words were sunlight in her darkness—a lifeline.

He grinned, rubbing his chin.

"Of course. But, Origami, don't I deserve a reward?"

Origami blinked, then blurted out—

"If you'll bring them back, I'll do anything! I'll even have your baby!"

Shuo's jaw dropped.

"Wha—?!"

Kotori and Nia groaned in unison, shooting him looks of pure disgust.

Tohka piped up, "Wait! I want a baby too!"

Shuo facepalmed. "Tohka, don't listen to Origami. Do you even know what having a baby means?"

Tohka stared, blank.

Yoshinon, the rabbit puppet, seized the moment:

"Gahaha! Tohka, having a baby means a man and a woman, they… do stuff, and then—poof! Baby! Got it?"

The room exploded in blushes.

Every girl went scarlet, mortified beyond words.

"Y-you pervert rabbit! Stop teaching Tohka weird things!"

Yoshino clamped her hands over Yoshinon, face burning.

Shuo shook his head, then summoned the Star Grail.

Starlight shimmered, dazzling and pure.

A moment later, Origami's parents stood alive—restored to the present.

"All done. Origami, go home. You're in for a surprise."

Origami bolted, not even pausing to say goodbye.

Shuo watched her go, a smile of relief tugging at his lips.

Nia's eyes sparkled, locked on the Star Grail in Shuo's hand.

"Hey, kid, what is that? It looks crazy powerful!"

Shuo arched an eyebrow, tucking the Grail away.

"Nice try, Spirit. If you're thinking about swiping my Star Grail, forget it."

Nia's jaw dropped.

"Wait—that's the Star Grail from No Game No Life?!"

She'd watched the anime on the phones Shuo gave them. She'd even drawn it into a manga.

Seeing it in real life? Unbelievable.

Even Reine and Kotori, familiar with the series, looked dazed.

For a moment, the world felt unreal—caught between tragedy, comedy, and wonder.
