The truth was, I didn't cry when I saw him with Sophia. After all, I'd seen this in a compromising moment plenty of times; this was nothing compared to it.

It was because I was experiencing the same betrayal all over again. The goddess hated me so much that she kept shoving me around from one mate to another. I wondered if she'd give me a third chance, mate. If that was even a thing.

Perhaps this time around, whoever it was would rip my heart into two.

Atlas was still in the room. I refused to look at him. Although I couldn't tell how long I'd keep that for. But I was sure he'd eventually leave. Except that wasn't his lamb at all.

He moved closer. I turned away from him towards the bed. But before I could reach it, he snatched my wrist once more, moving me around the room alongside him like we were in a dance together, then he stopped until my back was to the wall and he was towering over me.
