Instead of crying, Elara gazed then straight into eyes, saying nothing. With both of his hands and feet shackled in the center of the platform, people are shouting for her death. Long gone are the queens who wore shining jewelry and nice dresses. Now facing the entire empire with a face full of bruises and even wearing a rug-like dress.
"Kill the queen! Kill the queen!" So this is how it ends? So pitiful.
She has sacrificed everything she has, but at the end she was blamed for the things that she didn't even do. Ha! At the end she was just a tool to attain the power that they don't have. How naive she is. If she just knew sooner that she had the power that could surpass everyone.
Her mother was a powerful magician of the Blue Sea Island, which no one can invade, not even the known Dark Lord of the Kasarea Empire, known as the strongest empire in the world. At the end she ends up knowing the true story behind everything.
Her mother has fallen in love with her father, not knowing that he has his hidden agenda. He already has his first love, whom he wants to marry, but after knowing that the great magician has feelings for him, he takes advantage of it. They plan to impregnate the great magician and have her child, then kill her afterwards. And they eventually succeed. After the great magician died, the Blue Sea Island just vanished like a bubble that evaporated away from the surface of the Earth.
Elara's misery starts at a young age. She was young and innocent and had been abused. Treated like more than a beggar in the streets. Eat foods from leftovers as if she were not a daughter of the emperor. The empress would even randomly lay hands on her since it triggers her knowing that she has the same face as her mother.
"If I'd be given a second life and would be reborn, I promise to my mother's soul that I will make everyone pay a hundred times more than I suffered," she mumbles.
"What are you mumbling, queen?" Merrideth mocked her. "Look at yourself; you are no more than a dog on a leash. How does it feel to breathe on your last day? Does your heart hurt? I want to see you shed a tear and beg for your life to be saved," she said to her with a sweet smile that would make you think she is the sweetest woman on earth with her angel facade.
Elara felt nothing a while ago but revenge, but now Merrideth is making her laugh so crazy that she couldn't contain it but let it out loud, making everyone fall into silence. Even Merrideth was stunned for a second.
"What are you? Have you lost your mind?" she said, full of anger.
Elara met her eyes, now full of fury. "The god may favor you now but not at all times. I would run after you even after my death. May my power fill you with sufferings." A hard slap landed on her face, making her face sideways. It hurts, but she didn't show any emotion but a smirk.
"Afraid? Of course you should. You may have tormented and killed me before, giving me a life even worse than a beggar asking for food in the streets. Everyone will face the consequences they all deserve." Merrideth yells out of frustration and anger and gives her a slap multiple times, causing her to cough up blood.
"What words from a mere murderer. You will be gone; what can you do? And after this, I will be the most powerful in the world. You should be sorry for yourself for being naive. Too bad, you don't have that much time left." She glared at Elara before making her way out of the center of the platform.
She eyed the people one by one and stopped at his father and the empress. Even a simple stare can make everyone bow down, but not her. Even when their eyes met, she looked at them straight in the eyes, not the way she used to. She used to bow down more than anyone did. She kissed the floor as if they were gods. The fear that they buried in her was long gone, left with the heart full of vengeance and hatred.
The dark sky, the cold breeze of the air, the people of the empire, the emperor and the empress, and her half-sister witness her death. Stab her straight to the heart and pull her mana stone in front of her eyes.
Oh, goddess of life Versilana, could you give me a second chance to change my fate?

"Where am I?" The room feels so familiar to her eyes. She hurriedly ran to the nearest mirror and saw her face younger than she could remember.
Elara slapped her face, and a sharp sting of pain made her grunt.
She was stunned for a second. She didn't know what was true, or could it be a nightmare?
"Did you hear my plea, goddess Versilana?"
