Chapter 4 - Chapter 4: Bad men, Dead lovers.

I remember it just like yesterday, the house covered with the smell of gasoline " Pass the lighter" my mum said gently with a smile on her face. I stared at her , frozen in fear. She walked past me and took the lighter ,and my hand . We stepped outside. She lit a rag wrapped stick something she'd soaked earlier then tossed it through the open window. The fire caught fast. " Why?" I asked her with teary eyes and she replied with a calm smile " Bad men deserve death" , I never forgot those words. Especially now, after hearing Liam is dead. He cheated, yes. But he didn't deserve to die.

I picked up my phone and dialed Tasha's number again anxiously. I could feel all the memories of Liam and me rushing through my head as a sharp pain pierced through my heart. "Hi baby," Tasha said worriedly. "How did he die?" I asked, feeling my throat get dry and my eyes getting teary. "They said it was a car accident. I don't have all the details, but tell me where you are so I can come pick you up," she replied.

I cleaned the tears that had found their way down my cheek and looked around, trying to find the name of the hotel. "Moonlit Retreats—the one beside the club." "I'm coming right now," she said, after which I hung up and stared at the ceiling, wondering how people could just disappear. How someone I saw yesterday was dead all of a sudden.

___ ____ ___ ___ ___ ___ ___ ____ ___ ___ ___

I heard a knock on my door, and I stood up from the pool of my tears and opened it up. Tasha stared at me, examining my situation in worry before engulfing me in a giant hug. "It's going to be okay," she said, patting my head gently. We stayed there for a while before she led me to the bed where we both sat. "He's so selfish, you know that?" I said, wiping my tears. "He couldn't even allow me to hate him for 24 hours. Now he has me over here crying for his dumb ass," I said, resting my head on her shoulder.

"Maybe I shouldn't have wished for him to disappear," Tasha said, patting my head. I raised my head and stared at her in surprise. "Sorry," she said with a slight smile as she looked around the room and picked up Mr. Perfect's shirt off the floor. "Guess you had the time of your life yesterday," she said as she sniffed his t-shirt. "Dior perfume—ouu," she said with a smile. "Can you be serious for once?" I asked her, dragging the shirt from her hand, then throwing it away. "I mean, it's sad that Liam is dead, but I'm allowed to be happy that you finally got laid by a rich man," she said, smiling.

"Do you even know how the accident happened?" I asked, rolling my eyes at her. "I think the idiot was drunk driving," she replied, standing up and scanning the room. "You guys really went at it, didn't you? Look at the state of this room," she exclaimed, with a slight laugh. "Do you think he was driving that late because he was looking for me?" I asked, staring at the 30 missed calls I had from Liam. "Who cares where he was going? He should have known not to be drinking and driving. None of this is your fault, promise me you'll never blame yourself for his death" she replied, staring at me sincerely with worry.

"You're right. I don't even know why he would do that." I said trying to make myself feel better. "I remember when we told each other we would get old and die together, or when he said if I died first, he would go after" I added laughing bitterly, Tasha held my hand and peered into my eyes as if she wanted to transmit this message directly to my soul. " You'll find someone who will do the same for you, someone who will love you precisely how you're meant to be loved, and you'll recover. I know it doesn't feel like it right now, but you will, and even if you don't find that person... I'm here for you, bitch, and I'm not going anywhere," she added, smiling at me, and it felt like her worlds were like medication at that moment . "I love you" I said to her finally smiling sincerely

"Love you too and I know this is not the right time to ask but... did you and your one-night stand use protection?" she asked me with her arms crossed.

I stared at her, confused about how to even answer that question. "I... I think so? A lot happened yesterday," I replied, confused.

"Girl, we don't risk pregnancy in this house. Stand up—we're going to get a Plan B. And after that, I'll cook for you," she said, dragging me up. Then she stared at me and hugged me again. After that, she kissed my forehead. "Alright, dress up fast. Let's go."
