Cherreads

Chapter 3 - Chapter 3: The day I met him

"Come out, let me see it." Tasha said, dragging me out of her room after forcing me to wear the shortest dress known to man. "You look good!" she screamed, dragging me out of the apartment. "Don't you think it's a bit short?" I asked her tiredly, but she rolled her eyes and dragged me into the car, and we began our journey to what I was sure was going to be a disaster.

We got into the club, and Tasha dragged me to the dance floor, forcing me to dance with her. We danced for a while till I got tired because no matter how much I danced, I could not get Liam out of my mind; instead, the music they played reminded me of our first date, and that almost drove me mad.

" I'm going to get a drink," I said, pulling away from Tasha and going towards a seat at the bar. I sat down and ordered water because I couldn't stand alcohol. "Can I get vodka?" a voice beside me asked, staring at me in the most disgusting way ever known to man. I absolutely hated this because I could easily tell what he was up to, and at the moment all men were synonymous with vermin to me, so I was totally not ready to deal with this thirsty man. "Should I get you a drink, honey?" He asked me in the most disgusting voice ever as I sighed tiredly, This night was supposed to be fun.

I turned my head to the opposite direction, searching for Tasha. "I was talking to you," he replied with entitlement, like I was supposed to respond to him. "I assure you I heard you," I finally responded, staring at him, hoping he would get the message this time, but weirdly enough, he just smiled like I was encouraging him. "Do you normally act this cold to strangers, sweetheart?" He questioned, still smiling that slimy-looking smile, "No, I don't," I replied, hoping to pass a message across, but Mr. Perseverance here won't give up as he came closer to me as if everything I said just edged him on. "Then why me?" He asked, smiling like the cocky character from Shrek. "Why don't you take a guess?" I said moving away from him and searching for Tasha to save me from this absolute torture.

"Oh, come on, baby," he said, grabbing my hand as I struggled to let go of his grip. " Why don't you take a hint? Or are you as slow as you look?" A voice from behind me said, interrupting this unpleasant interaction, The slimy creature moved slightly to reveal the most handsome man I had ever seen.

He was a tall, tanned man with striking blue eyes that contrasted with his skin tone, making him look even more enchanting. He was muscular but not too muscular, and he had long eyelashes and perfect bone structure. "What's your business?" Mr. Can't-Take-a-Hint asked Mr. Perfect, but he didn't reply; all he did was stand there and stare at the asshole in the most intimidating way, which was a bit funny and felt like it was straight out of a movie. His eyes were void of emotion and compassion but filled with rage, and it was so frightening that I wondered why a stranger would care so much. He continued to give the asshole that look till he left, and he took his seat beside me. "Hi," he said to me, smiling. It had to be the most beautiful smile I had ever seen, but I rolled my eyes at him. I had enough of seemingly perfect men, and no matter how good-looking Mr. Perfect was, I still hated all men. "Let me guess it's your turn now?" I questioned sarcastically staring into his blue eyes, trying to intimidate him, but all he did was laugh. I sighed and wondered why I couldn't scare these men away. Did I actually look so welcoming, or what?

"No matter how drunk I am, I won't sleep with you. This isn't some Wattpad book; I'm not that girl," I said to him, trying my best to look frightening. "You don't even drink," he said, smiling and looking at me with amazement as I turned away in embarrassment. " You're having a lot of fun with this, aren't you?" I asked, looking at this man who clearly decided to pick me as his source of entertainment tonight, " Relax, I didn't help you because I wanted to sleep with you; I'm just a gentleman." He replied with utmost sincerity in his voice. "Also the fact that you remind me of someone," he said, taking a sip of his alcohol with his gaze stuck on me as if his eyes would explode if he looked away.

"Whatever," I replied, rolling my eyes and taking a sip of my water, hoping it would quench whatever thirst I was having at the moment. "Let me guess, you got cheated on?" He questioned me with the most alluring yet annoying smile, like he somehow thought he could figure me out easily, and I hated that; I hated that I was so obviously miserable. "Do I look that easy to cheat on?" I questioned in annoyance, staring at Mr. Jawline. "Trust me, you don't at all." He said, sincerely looking me up and down as I felt my stupid heart flutter. I couldn't believe I was actually falling for this again after what happened today. Was I actually that weak and stupid? I asked myself in disappointment. "Yeah…good-bye," I said, standing up before I did something stupid that I would regret as I used my eyes to track Tasha, who was busy dancing with a guy.

"I got cheated on too," I heard him say, making me stop in my tracks and stare back at him. " You did?!" I questioned in disbelief, Who would actually cheat on this angel-looking being? and he nodded his head in reply. " You shouldn't blame yourself for their actions, just because they chose to hurt you even after you stripped yourself bare for them and told them everything , even things you were absolutely terrified to show to anyone, doesn't mean you're not lovable." He said to me with his gaze so intense my heart beat faster and faster by the moment because, for some reason, I needed to hear that. "You're beyond beautiful; every inch of you is absolutely completely stunning." He said with passion and sincerity, staring deeply into my eyes, and I swear I could have heard the sound of my heart explode, and right at that moment I don't know what came over me. I don't know if it was the fact that I desperately needed to hear this, the crazy chemistry, or the urge to break free and throw caution to the wind for the first time in my life, because where did caution get me? at the end of the day , but what I know was that suddenly my mouth was in his before I could figure out why I wanted to do that.

He kissed me back passionately, and soon enough we were in the hotel beside the club with our clothes off. "Are you sure you want this?" he asked me sincerely. I examined every part of his gorgeous chiseled body and replied, "Oh, heck yeah," before kissing him again, and at that moment I faded away, Isabelle faded away, and someone else or something else took over, and it was wild and carefree just like that night.

I woke up the next morning alone on my bed as memories of the last night flooded my head. I screamed in embarrassment, "What the fuck did I do?!!!!!!" At least he had left, or else I couldn't fathom how awkward it would have been if I woke up to him beside me. I checked my phone to see a thousand missed calls from Tasha; clearly I had driven her crazy, maybe as crazy as I was the night before.

I called Tasha back and waited for her to pick up. "Isa, where were you?" she asked with her voice filled with worry. " You won't believe what happened last night, Tasha," I replied with a mix of disgrace and excitement at the same time. " Liam's dead," she said, cutting me off. The phone dropped from my hand as I stared into the void in shock and dismay.
