"Hello?!" I exclaim as I look around, but then something touches my neck from the darkness, causing me to look over to see a sword pointed towards me.
"You are still too weak... I told you to save him, did I not?" A familiar voice echoes through the darkness we were standing in.
"I'm not weak, I just don't have any clue what you've been yapping about?! I mean, how am I supposed to know who you want me to save if you don't tell me who!" I bellow, causing a scoff to sound out as a light shines down on the sword to reveal the Warrior Priestess.
"Only the weak question as much as you do and as diffident as you are. Until you show me the strength that lies within you... I will not answer even a single question, now begone!" The Warrior Priestess proclaims as a bright light blinds my vision, leading me to open my eyes and see a roof above me.
"Oh, are ye awake?" A voice asks, causing me to glance over and see Kaede.
"Yes, how long have I-"
"Almost a full day," Kaede answers, while interrupting me as I sit up with a sigh.
"Where is everyone?" I question as Kaede walks away and over to the fire, which had a pot over it.
"Shippo had received what appeared to be a challenge, so Kagome, along with the group, left ye in my care for the time being," Kaede answers as she poured soup into a bowl.
"So I'm causing trouble for them yet again..." I trail off, causing Kaede to walk over to me.
"Here ye are, child." Kaede insists as she holds out the bowl to me.
"Thank you, Kaede." I thank her as I grab the bowl, and she nods while sitting across from me.
"I believe ye child are too hard on yourself... From what I've heard, ye have been deceived more times than one can count, but that is not ye's fault. Carrying a good heart is hard...." Kaede trails off as she stares over at the fire. "Good heart? Me?" I wonder as I begin to drink my soup.
"Thank you for the soup, Kaede. I'm gonna go take a walk, just to clear my head." I inform as I set down the bowl and get up.
"Ye child, be careful now," Kaede states, causing me to nod and then walk out of her hut. "Be careful, huh. She knows I'm not going for a simple walk..." I think, letting out a sigh, while beginning to walk towards the Forest.
"I need to find the Sacred Tree, or the Tree of Ages, which these people call it," I whisper as I continue walking. "Maybe I can get it to tell me some actual answers." I think when something catches my eye up ahead.
"Is that..." I trail off as I walk up to find the well I came out of. "It feels as if I were in another completely different life before I fell into this well." I think as I stare into the well.
"You know what? Screw the Tree of Ages, that Priestess and Naraku. I'm done playing their games. I'm going back to the time I belong in, where my life was simpler." I declare as I crawl up on the well, take a deep breath in, close my eyes, and jump. Suddenly, I open my eyes to see what looks like a galaxy of beautiful, bright lights. Letting out the air I was holding in, I sat lightly on the ground of the well, causing me to look up to see darkness. "Am I back?" I wonder as I begin to climb up the well, and when I reach the top, I see the shrine.
"I really made it back?" I ask as I make my way out of the shrine to see a sight I never thought I'd see again, causing tears to roll down my face.
"Y-(Y/N)?" A familiar voice echoes out as I hear a thud, causing me to look over to see Aunty, and I rush over to her and throw my arms around her.
"I'm sorry, it took so long... But I'm back, Aunty." I assert as I feel her arms wrap around me.
"Welcome back." Aunty greets as she rubs my back, making the tears increase and my eyes shut.
"(Y/N), is that you?!" Another familiar voice sounds out, causing me to open my eyes and see Sota standing there.
"Yeah, it's me, Sota. I'm sorry if I worried you." I apologize as Aunty lets go of me and rushes over to Sota, hugging him tightly.
"I'm glad you're back, but those clothes are definitely not something I can get used to." Sota points out, causing me to chuckle.
"Alright, how about we all get inside." Aunty made known as I let go of Sota, and we both nodded. "I've missed them..." I think wiping my tears away and following Aunty and Sota into the house.
"Are you an apparition or are you really my Granddaughter?" A voice rings out, causing me to look over to see Grandpa, and I smile.
"It's really me, Gramps," I assure, causing Grandpa to smile.
"Welcome back, my dear." Grandpa greets, and I nod.
"Good to be back," I reassure, but then Aunty turns to me.
"You're room is just as you left it. I'll go get a bath running for you." Aunty informs, causing me to smile.
"Thanks, I need to change out of these clothes." I address and then walk up to my room, but I wait outside my room for a moment. "I still can't believe I'm back..." I think as I turn the knob of my door and open it to see my room exactly the way I left it.
"The feudal Era just seems like a bad dream now, and I've finally woken up," I whisper as I walk into my room and over to my closet, grabbing ordinary, modern clothes to change into after my bath.
"(Y/N), you're baths ready, sweetheart," Aunty states as she knocks on the door, causing me to look over at her, and I nod.
"Oh, okay. Thanks again..." I trail off, and she smiles.
"It's no problem." Aunty declares as she then walks away, causing me to let out a sigh and head to the bathroom. "Would she be so kind if she found out I tried to kill Kagome?" I wonder, but I then shake my head as I enter the bathroom.
"No, no more thinking about what happened in the Feudal Era. Technically, it's all in the past, and I don't plan on going back." I insist as I undress and hop into the hot bath. "Oh, how I've missed having a hot bath." I think enjoying the rest of my bath.
"That was heaven." I grin as I finish drying off and put on the clothes I brought with me to change into.
"(Y/N), Mom told me to tell you Dinner's ready!" I hear Sota call out.
"Alright, coming!" I call back and then look over at the mirror. "That's why I was so fond of Kohaku... He reminded me of Sota." I think, and I let out a sigh, but then slap my cheeks with both hands.
"Enough, thinking about the Feudal Era!" I demand as I pull my hands away from my face to reveal 2 red marks displayed on my face. "It looks like Songo just slapped the shit out of me..." I think as I let out a sigh and walk out of the bathroom. Making my way down to the dining room, I see Grandpa, Sofa, and Aunty already sitting at the table.
"Sorry, I hope I didn't keep you all waiting." I apologize, but Aunty shakes her head slightly.
"Not at all, dear," Aunty assures as I sit down, causing us all to begin eating.
"If you don't mind me asking, what day will it be tomorrow?" I ask, causing everyone to look over at me.
"It will be Monday," Sota answers, and I nod. "School, yay..." I think as I let out a sigh, but Grandpa clears his throat, causing me to look over at him.
"We'll have to re-enroll you in school tomorrow," Grandpa informs, making me put on a confused expression.
"Re-enroll?" I questioned, causing them all to look down at their plates.
"The last time Kagome was here, she told us you might not come back to this time," Sota explains, causing Aunty and Grandpa to look over at him.
"We had assumed the worst, so we un-enrolled in school, telling them you went back to America. I'm sorry, (Y/N)." Grandpa trails off.
"But, we're all glad you're back safe and sound." Aunty declares, causing me to get up and bow to them.
"I'm sorry, I caused you all so much trouble." I apologize, but I don't ring my head up.
"It's no trouble at all, we're family, (Y/N). We'll always be here for you, no matter what, and I'm sure Kagome feels the same way." Aunty reassures, causing me to lift and nod slightly. "Kagome feels the same way?" I wonder as I sit down and continue to eat. Once I finish eating, I head up to my room to see the clothes I wore in the Feudal Era on my dresser, causing me to walk over and pick them up. Suddenly, something fell out of them, causing me to look down to see a Hairpin, making my eyes widen.
"I thought I lost it in the Feudal Era... How is it here?" I ask as I bend down and go to pick it up, but stop myself. "I should just throw it away, right?" I wonder as I pick it up and glance over to the trash can, but for some reason, I can't bring myself to do it.
"Fine, leaving it as a souvenir from a place I'll never return to won't hurt, right?" I question as I stand up and place the hairpin back on my dresser, while throwing the Feudal Era clothes in my tiny trash can. "I should get some sleep." I think as I fall onto my bed and slowly fall into a restless slumber.
"(Y/N)..." A slight whisper sounds out and begins to echo, but all I see is darkness around me.
"(Y/N)." The same voice calls out, but it is louder this time and continues to echo through the darkness. Looking around once more, I still can't see anything causing me to feel annoyed.
"What do you want?!" I exclaim as I turn to see a bright light shine towards me.
"(Y/N)!" The voice calls out, causing me to walk towards it as the light begins to diminish. Grabbing the object, I open my hand to see a Sacred Jewel Shard attached to a chain as a rush of nostalgia overcomes me.
"Take this, (Y/N). Think of it as a good luck Crystal... I hope it will protect you." Dad's voice rang out, causing tears to begin forming.
"That's right, Dad gave me this Jewel Shard... It's what led me to the Feudal Era, but I lost it." I think as the necklace disappears from my hand, causing me to look up to see someone about a foot away from me appear, holding the necklace.
"Hey, give that back to me!" I call out as I run towards them and grab onto their shoulder, which makes them turn to me, causing my eyes to widen.
"Naraku..." I trail off as his blood red eyes stare back at me.
"You already have it," Naraku informs as he holds up the Sacred Jewel towards me, but the chain is around my neck.
"What do you mean?" I ask as I look back up to see the Warrior Priestess with a distasteful expression.
As long as you have this, there is no escape for you!" The Warrior Priestess exclaims, causing a bright light to shine out from the shard in her hand.
"Ah!" I shout as I feel pain in my head and hear a loud thud.
"Are you okay?!" Sota's voice rings out, causing me to open my eyes to see I'm on the floor.
"Uh, bad dream?" I question, causing Sota to let out a sigh.
"You'd better start getting dressed or do wanna make us both late?" Sota asks and then shuts the door. "I forgot how early school starts." I think as I get up and walk over to my closet.
"Whelp, better get ready..." I trail off as I begin to grab out my school uniform and change into it.
"(Y/N)?!" A voice rings out as a thud sounds, causing me to look over to see Kagome standing in my doorway, out of breath.
"I know, I should have said something-"
"I was so worried that Naraku kidnapped you again!" Kagome proclaims, while rushing over and wrapping her arms around me.
"I'm sorry, Kagome." I apologize causing Kagome to pull herself away from me, but keep a hold of my arms.
"How did you make it back?" Kagome questions with a worried expression. "I can't bring myself to tell her the truth." I think, letting out a sigh.
"I went on a walk deep in thought and ended up in the forest in front of the well... So I jumped in thinking it couldn't possibly send me back, but I was wrong," I respond, causing Kagome's eyes to widen.
"So you're able to pass through the well as well..." Kagome trails off.
"Kagome, (Y/N)! Do you two really want to be late?!" Sota's voice rings out, causing us both to let out a chuckle.
"Well, we'd better get to school." I point out, causing Kagome to nod, and we both walk out of my room. Making it down the stairs, we see Aunty beside Sota standing in the doorway.
"Let's get going, you two." Aunty made known with a smile, causing us all to nod.
(To Kagome)
Walking through the hallway with a hopeless expression, someone grabs onto her shoulder, which makes her turn to see Eri and Yuka.
"How'd it go?" Eri asks as Yuka wears the same expression as Kagome.
"You do okay?" Yuka questions.
"Worse than awful," Kagome responds, causing all of them to sigh.
"Hey, wait for me!" A voice rings out, causing them to look over and see Ayumi standing there..
"Was that Math test a snap, or what?" Ayumi asks with a bright smile.
"Was not!" Eri and Yuka chorus as they grab Ayumi's cheeks.
"Um, hey guys." I greeted them, causing them all to quickly look over to see me waving at them.
"(Y/N)?!" Ayumi, Eri, and Yuka exclaim with wide eyes.
"Didn't you go back to America?" Ayumi asks, causing a nervous chuckle to come out of my mouth as I put my hand to the back of my head.
"I was apparently too much to handle for them, so they sent me back..." I trail off.
"Makes me wonder what she did," Eri whispers, causing Yuka to nod.
"Well, we're all glad you're back!" Ayumi chirps.
"Anyways, school's over, why don't we all go grab something to eat?" Yuka questions, glancing around at everyone.
"I'm down," Eri responds.
"Me too," Ayumi adds, causing all of them to look over at Kagome and me.
"Yeah, I'll go. What about you (Y/N)?" Kagome questions, but I slightly shake my head.
"Sorry, guys, but there's actually something I have to do today," I respond, causing them all to look over at me with a confused expression.
"Oh, okay. See you at home." Kagome states.
"Yeah, see you." I nod as I walk away and begin walking out of school. "It's time..." I think as I continue walking, until I come to a Cemetery.
"I avoided coming before, but I think I'm finally ready to see them," I whisper as I look at every grave I pass till finally stopping. "I found them." I think as I bend down in between the two tombstones that look to have fresh flowers in front of them.
"I'm sorry, it took so long to come see you both." I apologize as I look down at the ground.
"You both are probably very disappointed in me for everything I've done till now..." I trail off as tears begin to form, but then a slight gust of wind blows through. "I feel as if I'm being comforted." I think as I place my hand on my shoulder, allowing tears to slip out of my eyes.
"Thank you both for giving me the courage I needed." I thank as I stand up, while wiping my tears away, and begin walking away.
(To Naraku)
(Naraku's POV)
Standing atop a cliff with Kanna by my side, I walked closer towards the edge. Suddenly, my left arm began to twitch, causing me to hold it up. A purple lump of flesh makes its way up to my hand.
"You wanna come out?" I ask, causing the flesh to twitch once again.
"Then allow me to grant you your wish," I state, while the flesh begins to pulsate. Consuming my whole arm, the lump of flesh falls down the cliff, causing Kanna to walk over and look down. "With you gone, I no longer hold onto any sentiments." I think as I stare up into the dark, starry sky.
"Who was that? My brother?" Kanna questions.
"He's nothing like the rest of you," I respond, while turning away from the cliff.
"Let's go," I instruct, while beginning to walk away. "I can finally get rid of them!" I think as Kanna walks after me.
(To (Y/N) )
( (Y/N)'s POV)
I walk into the house to see what looks like Kagome strangling Sota.
"Um, is everything alright?" I ask, causing them all to look at me, while Kagome drops Sota.
"(Y/N), why are you only now getting home?" Kagome asks, causing me to put on a nervous expression.
"I kinda got lost while on the way home..." I answer, causing them all to sigh.
"Alright, time for dinner, you three," Aunty informs, casing us all to look over at her.
"Alright." Kagome and I chorus as we walk over to the Kitchen.
"Ok," Sota adds as he walks into the kitchen as well, and we all sit down at the table.
"Thanks, Mom," Kagome says as she begins to eat, and I nod.
"Yes, it looks amazing, Aunty." I insist, while beginning to eat as well.
"I meant to ask this last night, but (Y/N), Kagome, you both are eating over on the other side, right?" Aunty asks.
"Veggies, roots, and stuff, nothing yummy like you're food, Mom," Kagome answers, and I nod.
"Nothing compares," I add.
"Then eat up, while you're both here," Aunty states with a smile. "She thinks I'm going back?" I wonder, causing me to look over at her with an uncertain expression.
"When are you both going back?" Sota asks, causing me to stare down at my plate. "Why can't I tell them I don't want to go back... Is it because of that dream I had last night?" I wonder as I look up from my plate.
"I'm not sure," I answer as I glance over at Kagome.
"Well, our tests are over... So, we'll get a good night's sleep, then go to class again tomorrow. We'll leave after that, sound good?" Kagome's questions caused me to be quiet for a moment, but then I finally nodded.
"So, how did you both do on your tests anyway?" Aunty asks, causing Kagome to place her hands to her head.
"Don't even ask," Kagome answers with a sigh.
"That's no surprise. You have a lot on your plate as it were." Grandpa points out, causing a nervous chuckle to sound out, making everyone look over at me.
"I passed with flying colors..." I tail off.
"You were always good in school." Aunty made known.
"Thank you for the food. I'm gonna go get that good night's sleep, Kagome was talking about." I declare as I get up and walk out of the kitchen. "I'll just have to tell Kagome that I'm not going back tomorrow." I think as I walk up to my room and lie on my bed. After staring at the ceiling for what felt like hours, I finally fell asleep.
(To Inuyasha)
"It's lonely without (Y/N) and Kagome here." Shippo points out, while munching on a roasted fish.
"Hmm, you think so? Nothing's different." Inuyasha insists.
"You lair. You're not kidding anyone. You've been in a days since Kagome left. It's totally obvious that you miss her-" Shippo was interrupted by Inuyasha hitting him in the head.
"Ow! What did you do that for?!" Shippo exclaims while trying to hit Inuyasha back.
"I really hope you're right about (Y/N) going through the well, Inuyasha," Songo states, causing Inuyasha to look over at her.
"Her scent led to the well, so I can only assume she went back to her own time." Inuyasha remarks.
"Well, if she did. I'm certain Lady Kagome will bring her back." Miroku declares.
"When did Kagome say she's returning, Inuyasha?" Songo asks.
"Let's see..." Inuyasha trails off as he holds up his hand and begins counting with his fingers.
"1, 2, 3... Tomorrow." Inuyasha adds, causing Shippo to jump down with a grin.
"They're gonna come back tomorrow? Well then, we'd better go back to the village and greet them." Shippo made known, causing Inuyasha to look up at the sky.
"Y'know we've been roaming around the countryside without any luck at all."
"Without Kagome or (Y/N) around here, we can't get any leads around the Sacred Jewel." Miroku addresses.
"There's been no sign of Naraku, either," Songo adds, causing Inuyasha to grunt.
"I thought if we had (Y/N) with us, he'd use any means to take her back..." Inuyasha trails off, causing them all to look over at him with a confused expression.
"What do you mean?" Songo asks, causing Miroku to narrow his eyes at him.
"So you thought the same as I..." Miroku trails off, and Inuyasha nods.
"Naraku has a kind of obsession with (Y/N) that he used to have for Kikyo," Inuyasha informs, causing Songo's eyes to widen.
"Are you saying Naraku's in love with (Y/N)?!" Shippo exclaims, causing them all to go silent.
(To (Y/N) )
Finally making it home from School, Kagome turns to me with a bright smile.
"Let's go get ready and get back, or Inuyasha's gonna think he has to come get us," Kagome informs and goes to turn away, but I grab her arm, causing her to turn back to me.
"Is something wrong?" Kagome asks with a confused expression.
"I don't... I can't go back, Kagome." I answer, causing a silence to set in.
"What do you mean?" Kagome questions, but I shake my head.
"I've done too many things that I can't take back, and if I go back I'll just put you and the others in danger..." I trail off, while letting go of Kagome's arm.
"(Y/N)-"
"No, I'm not going back, Kagome, ever again." I insist, while interrupting Kagome and walking away from her. "I'll just put them in danger if Naraku still has a hold on me..." I think making my way into my room.
(To Kagome)
She walks down the stairs to the well, but then turns around.
"(Y/N), not going with you?" Sota asks, causing Kagome to let out a sigh.
"She thinks it's better to stay here for now," Kagome answers and then waves to them.
"Bye, you guys, I'm off," Kagome adds with a smile.
"See ya later, sis," Sota states.
"Be careful now." Kagome's Mom insists.
"Do you're best girl!" Grandpa calls out, causing Kagome to jump into the well.
"It never ceases to amaze me." Kagome's Mom points out.
"I wonder why (Y/N) didn't want to go with Kagome?" Sota questions caused Grandpa to turn to him.
"Well, if it's (Y/N)'s fate like Kagome's, she'll eventually find her way back," Grandpa responds, causing Kagome's Mom to turn away.
"Well, I'd better go shopping so I can stock up on food for her for when she returns." Kagome's Mom states as she walks out of the shrine.
"I'll go too!" Sota chirps as he rushes after her.
"And so shall I..." Grandpa trails off as he walks after them, shutting the Shrine behind him.
(To (Y/N) )
I was staring up at the ceiling, while lying on my bed, when a light suddenly shone out of the corner of my eyes.
"What the hell-" I was interrupted when I looked over to see that the Hairpin I received from Naraku was the thing that was shining brilliantly. "Why and how is it shining?" I wonder as I get up and go to touch it, but stop myself.
"Could it be Naraku's trying to find me?!" I exclaim, causing me to back away from it.
(To Naraku)
(Naraku's POV)
"Where the hell is she?" I wonder as I stare down at the purple flower that was glowing in my palm. "She must have thrown it away... Fine, I didn't want to have to resort to this." I think as I crush the flower, while closing my eyes.
"(Y/N), come to me!" I demand.
(To (Y/N))
((Y/N)'s POV)
"W-what the hell?!" I exclaim as a burning sensation comes from my back. I try to reach back, but I couldn't reach whatever it was, causing me to look over at my mirror to see that my back was glowing with a black light emitting from it.
"Come to me, (Y/N)!" A voice rings out through my head, causing my eyes to widen.
"Wait, is that?" I ask, but then I narrowed my eyes at the mirror. "Naraku planted a Jewel Shard in me! Is he trying to take control of me?!" I wonder as I then glance over to see that the Hairpin was back to normal on my dresser.
"I have no choice!" I bellow as I grab the Hairpin, while looking back at the mirror, and stab the Hairpin into my back where the black light glowed.
"Ah!" I scream as I pull out the Hairpin and look down to see the black Shard on the ground, along with several drops of blood.
"How the hell did we not sense this Jewel Shard when it's been in my back this whole time?" I question, but then shake my head. "It's more than that... All the negative feelings I've been feeling since now are gone." I think as I bend down and pick up the Black shard, but as soon as I make contact, the Shard purifies.
"You may have escaped his grasp, but you can not escape from you're fate." A voice rings out from my head, causing me to scoff. "Yeah, yeah. I get it, Priestess." I think as I stand up with a determined expression.
(To Naraku)
(Naraku's POV)
"Damn it..." I trail off. "She broke free from my grasp." I think, gritting my teeth as Kanna walks in and sits in front of me.
"Show me, Kanna," I instruct, causing a light to shine from her mirror. "I'll have to deal with that mortal later..." I think as Kanna's mirror reveals Inuyasha, Songo, and Miroku facing off against my latest incarnation
"Hmm, excellent. They found each other." I state. "He's the most abominable creation of my flesh yet. I'm sure you'll agree, Inuyasha." I think narrowing as a grin cloaked my face.
"Now then..." I trail off.
(To Inuyasha)
"You were the one who attacked the Village and set it ablaze." Miroku points out.
"Yes, I did. I thought that if I slaughtered some people, it might help restore my memories. It didn't work, but I did have myself a good time." A man riding a horse states.
"Who the hell are you?!" Inuyasha exclaims.
"I told you, I can't recall... Oh, I know. How about calling me Muso? Yes, call me Muso, that will do quite nicely. It's the name of the young monk who gave me his face. Kind of him, wasn't it?" Muso asks, while holding a hand up to his chin.
"Gave you his face?! You slaughtered the poor guy!" Inuyasha bellows with an angry expression.
"Why are you looking at me like that? I don't like it." Muso made known.
"The feelings mutual." Inuyasha declares.
"You know what? I really don't like the look on your face. Say, have we ever met before?" Muso asks, causing Inuyasha to glare up at Muso.
"I don't know, but obviously this conversation is going nowhere fast." Inuyasha addresses as he places his hand on the hilt of his sword.
"Inuyasha, no!" Miroku calls out as he readies himself.
"Someone who smells exactly like Naraku is killing innocent people. He deserves to die!" Inuyasha shouts as he draws his sword and points it towards Muso. Turning his horse, Muso rushes towards Inuyasha as he draws his sword and outstretches it towards Inuyasha.
"Just try it!" Inuyasha scoffs as he rushes towards Muso.
"Die!" Inuyasha demands as he chops off Muso's arm, which was holding onto the sword.
"He did it." Shippo assumed, as Muso had fallen off his horse.
"Not yet." Songo counters as Muso gets up off the ground.
"What's his body made of? it's like clay or something..." Miroku trails off, but then the sound of buzzing causes them all to look over in the direction of the sound.
"Naraku's poisonous insects!" Inuyasha calls out as the horde of poisonous insects head straight for Muso. Gathering where Muso's arm used to be, the insects begin to merge in a bright light. The light disappeared to show Muso's arm, which was hacked off by Inuyasha, was now back.
"His arms back." Songo points out.
"He absorbed the poison insects into his body. My wind tunnel will be useless against him!" Miroku grumbled while holding his cursed hand.
"I'm even more amazing than I thought I was... So what's in that Village over there?" Muso asks as he points towards the Village behind him.
"Hah? What are you talking about?!" Inuyasha exclaims.
"That Village is calling me. If I slaughter the Villagers, maybe this time I'll remember something." Muso grins.
(To (Y/N) )
((Y/N)'s POV)
"Maybe I should have just thrown this away..." I trail off as I let out a sigh, while placing the Hairpin into my hair. "There was no escaping my fate from the moment I received this Shard." I think as I looked down at the Shard, I placed it on a necklace around my neck.
"I'll change fate as well as keep you from hurting the people I care for, Naraku!" I proclaim as I jump into the well.
