It's been a month since I came back to my time, and obviously, I've been trying to keep myself busy, so I was about to go meet Ayumi, Eri, and Yuka at the Library. Suddenly, a loud banging sound comes from the Shrine, causing me to stop in my tracks and look over at it.
"Ow..." A familiar voice trails off, causing me to walk over and open the door of the shrine to see Kagome, who was getting up off the ground.
"Welcome back, Kagome." I greeted, causing her to look up at me.
"(Y/N)-"
"Here, let me help." I offer as I grab her bag and help her up.
"Thanks. Um, were you about to go somewhere?" Kagome asks, and I nod.
"Yeah, I was about to go meet up with the girls to study for the test you're obviously back for," I answer, causing her to slightly chuckle.
"I'll join you then... I need as much help as I can get." Kagome sighs, causing me to nod with a giggle.
"The more the merrier." I insisted, and we began on our way to the library as Kagome started bringing me up to speed on everything that had happened in the Feudal Era, causing me to look down at the ground. "I shouldn't be surprised, Inuyasha found a way to break through a barrier..." I think as I let out a sigh.
"Hey, oh, Kagome." Someone says, causing me to look up to see the girls standing outside the Library.
"You're finally back!" Ayumi chirps as Eri looks over at me.
"Why didn't you tell us she was back?" Eri asks, and I smile.
"I wanted to surprise you guys," I answer as Yuka gives Kagome a big hug.
"We're so glad you're here." Ayumi insists, and Yuka sighs.
"That test is supposed to be a hard one..." Yuka trails off, causing me to nod.
"Then we'd best get in there and start studying." I point out, causing them all to nod, and we all head into the Library. "I hadn't really thought about the Feudal Era since I got back. I mean, so much happened before I left, especially with Naraku." I think, as I then see something waving in front of my face.
"(Y/N), please help me!" Yuka wines, causing me to blink a couple of times.
"O-oh, which problem?" I question as I grab the paper from her hands.
"Number 5," Yuka responds, causing Eri and Kagome to turn to me with puppy dog eyes.
"Let me guess, you guys need help with this one, too." I made known, causing both of them to nod, and I let out a sigh. Finally, it was almost dark, causing us all to get up from the Library tables where we were studying.
"See you two at school tomorrow," Ayumi states, and we nod.
"Yeah, see you guys." Kagome declared as I waved my hand.
"Bye," I say as we walk out of the Library and begin heading home, but Kagome and I both stay silent. We made it home from the library, and I went straight to my room. Lying on my bed, I look over to see the hairpin on my side table, causing me to grab it and hold it up in front of me.
"Does he love me?" I ask as Naraku's worried expression flashes through my mind. "Do I...? No, how could I? He's done too many awful things to the people around me." I think as I turn on my side and place the Hairpin back on my side table. Letting out a sigh, I close my eyes and slowly drift to sleep.
(Time Skip)
It was finally the day of the test, but that wasn't what bothered me; it was having to go back to the Feudal Era after school today.
"Hey Kagome, (Y/N). That test was easy, right?!" Ayumi exclaims, causing Kagome to sigh as Eri and Yuka walk up.
"It was okay..." Kagome trails off, causing me to chuckle awkwardly.
"It wasn't as challenging as I thought it was gonna be-"
"How are you both so smart?" Eri asks, interrupting me, and Yuka nods.
"That was torture!" Yuka bellows as we all make it out of the school.
"Why don't we all go get some food and get our minds off the test?" Ayumi insists, causing all the girls' eyes to light up.
"I'm down." Eri agrees.
"Me, too." Yuka nods, causing the three of them to look over at me and Kagome.
"Yeah, that sounds good, (Y/N)?" Kagome's question, caused me to clear my throat.
"I would, but I have something I need to go take care of. I'll see you back at home, Kagome." I respond and then begin walking home. I need to mentally prepare myself..." I think as I make it home, but stop in my tracks.
"More like get my feelings in order," I state as I then turn to see the Sacred Tree. "This all started under this tree." I think as I walk up to it and feel tears begin to form as I remember Naraku bending down in front of me as the Sacred Tree.
"It's him... You want me to change his fate, don't you?" I ask as I place my hand against the tree. "Naraku's the only one that would make sense, especially if he's the reincarnation of Midoriko's lover." I think as I look up at the leaves on the tree.
"(Y/N)..." A familiar voice trails off, causing my eyes to widen.
"Inuyasha, what are you doing here?" I ask as I turn to see him standing there with his eyes narrowed at me.
"Came to pick up Kagome," Inuyasha answers, but neither of us looks away from each other.
"If you have something to say, just say it." I insist, causing Inuyasha to take a step towards me.
"You can try all you want, (Y/N)... I will defeat Naraku!" Inuyasha proclaims, causing me to scoff.
"Are you warning me or threatening me, Dog-Boy?" I question, causing Inuyasha to shake his head with an annoyed expression.
"Neither... Just telling you that no matter what you decide to do, it'll end the same way." Inuyasha responds, causing me to chuckle slightly.
"Kagome isn't home yet," I inform, causing Inuyasha to turn away from me.
"Figures..." Inuyasha trails off as he begins walking towards the house. Turning back to the tree, I feel a tear slide down my face. "Is it really inevitable?" I wonder as I stare at the tree.
"Are you okay?" Aunty's voice sounds out, causing me to turn and see her standing there with a worried expression. Staring at her for a moment, the tears start streaming down my face.
"No..." I answer, causing her to walk over towards me and place her arms around me.
"I'm sorry, (Y/N)." Aunty apologizes as we stayed there for a moment. "How did my life get so jacked up?" I wonder as I finally lifted from Aunty and wiped my tears away.
"Thank you, Aunty. I feel much better." I assured, causing her to smile at me.
"I'm glad, but don't hesitate to confide in us. We're your family, (Y/N). That will never change." Aunty declares, and I nod.
"I know," I reassure with a smile, causing Aunty to turn away from me and begin walking towards the house. "I should go get ready to leave." I think as I walk over to the house and make it up to my bedroom after passing Inuyasha, who was playing with Buyo. Gathering everything I needed, I finally got to my Hairpin and picked it up. "My destiny is to change his fate, but does that mean I have to go against Kagome and the others to accomplish it?" I wonder as I place the hairpin into my hair.
I'm home!" I hear Kagome call out, but then begin to hear bickering between her and a loud dog fellow, causing me to sigh and head down the stairs.
"Just get ready, and we'll go." Inuyasha addresses, causing Kagome's eyes to widen.
"Huh?! You wanna go now?" Kagome asks as I walk over to her.
"It's not surprising. He's always like this." I answer as they both look over at me.
"Why don't you have dinner before you leave?" Aunty questions, causing Inuyasha to turn away from her with his eyes closed.
"We can eat when we get back there," Inuyasha responds. "Yeah, Feudal Era food is nothing like this Era's food..." I think as I roll my eyes.
"You sure about that? It's steak." Aunty specifies, causing Inuyasha to open his eyes with a curious expression.
"Huh? What's steak?" Inuyasha asks, causing me to giggle.
(To Shippo)
"So Inuyasha went back to get her?" Miroku asks as they were both sitting by the stream.
"It's for the best. We need her to come back as well as (Y/N)." Songo answers, causing Miroku to look over at Songo.
"(Y/N)..." Miroku trails off, causing Songo to narrow her eyes at him.
"Yes, she's a great fighter and has Spiritual Powers." Songo points out as she throws a stone in the stream.
"I get what you mean, but (Y/N) is a double-edged sword, Songo," Miroku made known, causing Shippo to sigh as if completely spacing out.
"I wish I could go see where Kagome and (Y/N) live one time." Shippo insists.
(To (Y/N) )
I ended up going to sleep hungry, and practically as soon as day broke, Inuyasha got us up and we headed off to the well.
"Let's go." Inuyasha insists as he then hops into the well, causing Kagome to follow right after him. "I guess I'll just have to cross that bridge when I come to it." I think, while letting out a sigh, I jump into the well after them.
"Now, what kind of greeting is that?!" Inuyasha's voice rings out as I begin climbing up the well.
"Did something happen?" Kagome asks as I finally make it up to see Miroku, Shippo, Songo, Kirara, and a weird-looking Demon sitting beside the well with disappointed expressions. "Did someone make them rotten tea?" I wonder as I get out of the well and sit on it.
"Technically speaking, it's about to start." Miroku's answer caused me to put on a confused expression. Something really must have happened..." I think as Inuyasha rushes over to him.
"Stop with the mumbo jumbo," Inuyasha demands, causing Shippo to look up.
"Definitely cats." Shippo insists as the other Demon jumps up.
"Lots and lots of cats." The Demon adds as I narrow my eyes at him.
"First, who is this Demon, and second, can y'all just stop beating around the bush and tell us what happened?" I request, causing them all to look over at me.
(To Sesshomaru)
"That's the way, Jaken. You can do it." Rin encouraged, while playing in the stream as Jaken was trying to catch fish. However, Sesshomaru watched both as he sat beside a tree with A-Un lying next to him.
"No, to the right in front of you. In the back!" Rin calls out.
"In behind?" Jaken asks as he turns around.
"Now left. Right. On the side." Rin answered as she was pointing.
"Which side?" Jaken questions, as Sesshomaru then glances away from them.
"No, there," Rin responds.
"Over here?" Jaken asks, but then the sound of water splashing rings out.
"I got one! I caught it with my bare hands!" Jaken bellows as Sesshomaru begins walking away and heading down the stream. Looking over, Sesshomaru notices the stream beginning to freeze over.
"If it isn't Tōron," Sesshomaru states as he begins to see a figure walking on the ice.
"It's been a long time, Sesshomaru." Tōran declares, while heading towards him.
"I thought you were dead." Sesshomaru points out, causing her to stop in her tracks.
"That's a fine way to greet someone. This time, I'm going to settle things once and for all." Tōran insists, causing Sesshomaru to close his eyes.
"We settled things a long time ago, but if you insist. You won't be as lucky as you were 50 years ago." Sesshomaru threatens as he opens his eyes.
"You're still as boorish as ever, I see. I agree that things will be different from how they turned out 50 years ago, though. You have a weakness now..." Tōran trails off, causing Sesshomaru to narrow his eyes at her, which makes Tōran chuckle.
"Our Master is waiting for you."Tōran made known.
"Master?" Sesshomaru questions.
"Yes, the one who leads the Panther Tribe. I realize your dear Father is dead, but our Master is going to be resurrected at long last." Tōran responds with a smirk.
"Resurrected? For what purpose?" Sesshomaru asks, causing Tōran to close her eyes.
"To attack the lands of the East once again. But more importantly, to get our revenge on all your kind." Tōron answered, while opening her eyes that were glaring daggers at Sesshomaru.
"I will personally see to it that he never breathes again." Sesshomaru counters.
"I'm glad to hear you've accepted my challenge." Tōran re-counters, causing Sesshomaru to grab his sword.
"Come, now, don't be so hasty. We won't battle it out here. Come to our castle, or you're little weakness might not survive." Tōran informs as the ice under her feet begins to break, causing Sesshomaru to tighten the grip on his sword.
"Weakness..." Sesshomaru trails off as he sees Tōran disappear.
(To (Y/N) )
"Cat, Demon, you say?" Inuyasha asks with an annoyed expression.
"You know, I distinctly remember something similar to this happening 50 years ago," Hacchi answers, while placing his paw on his head.
"50 years ago?!" Inuyasha exclaims.
"Yeah. A tribe of cats swarmed in and attacked from the West." Hacchi informs.
"Are you sure about that? Sounds like one of your tall tales." Inuyasha insists, while resting his head on his hand.
"Wait a minute, Inuyasha. Don't you think it could have happened while you were sealed to that tree?" Miroku questions, causing us all to look over at Inuyasha.
"I guess, but I wouldn't know about it," Inuyasha responds, looking over at Miroku.
"I've never heard of it either." Shippo made known, causing Inuyasha to side-eye him.
"Maybe it's 'Cause you're just a brat." Inuyasha teases, causing Shippo to rush towards him.
"Am not! Quit treating me like a kid!" Shippo bellows as he tries to hit Inuyasha, causing me to grab Shippo.
"Quit it, you two," I instruct as I hold Shippo in my arms, who glares over at Inuyasha.
"So, what exactly happened?" Kagome asks, turning my attention back over to Hacchi.
"I escaped before the Cat Demons arrived," Hacchi answers, while placing his paws on his head again.
"Now it's believable." Miroku points out, while side-eyeing Hacchi. "This guy's obviously as bad as Myoga..." I think, letting out a sigh.
"I returned after I heard they had all left, and sure enough, there wasn't a single Cat Demon in sight," Hacchi explains.
"Where were they?" Inuyasha asks.
"Oh, dearie me, I'm afraid that's all I can remember." Hacchi wines as he places his paws on his nose.
"The stories are true. You both are strangely dressed priestesses." A voice rings out, causing a chill to run up my spine.
"The Cat Demons!" Shippo shouts while pointing, causing me to look over to see a big guy and a short girl with red, puffy hair. "Yeah, they're definitely here with bad intentions." I think as I glare over at them.
"Stop calling us cats, you little raccoon dog," Karan states with one eye shut.
"Excuse me, I'm a fox." Shippo declares, causing me to set a hand on his head as I see Songo and Miroku ready themselves.
"It's okay, Shippo. She's just trying to rile you up." I whisper, causing him to nod, but he doesn't look away from the Cat Demons. "They're probably after me and Kagome since they pointed us out as soon as they got here." I think as I get in front of Kagome, while Inuyasha gets up off the well with a sigh.
"Who are you, and what do you want?" Inuyasha questions as he walks towards them.
"It's not you that we're after. We want the Priestesses with the Sacred Jewel Shards." Karan responds, while pointing towards Kagome and me, and I scoff.
"I figured as much..."I trail off as I pull out my sword, while glaring over at them.
"Well, you're gonna have to get through me first, if that's what you want." Inuyasha specifies, while holding up a readied claw.
"Hah! You're a Half-Demon." The Cat guy insists.
"Got a problem with that?!" Inuyasha exclaims, causing Karan to smirk.
"You wouldn't happen to be Inuyasha?" Karan asks, causing Everyone's eyes to widen and look over at Inuyasha.
"Huh?" Inuyasha sounds.
"You know this Demon?" Miroku questions.
"I've never seen her before," Inuyasha responds, causing the cat girl's eyes to gleam.
"You must be him, Sesshomaru's brother." Karan points out, causing Inuyasha to grin and ready himself.
"Yeah, we're not exactly a close-knit family." Inuyasha remarks.
"Let me take on Inuyasha. Shūran, you handle the Monk and the Demon Slayer." Karan instructs, causing Shūran to grin.
"Right." Shūran roars as Karan jumps towards Inuyasha, and Shūran rushes towards Miroku and Songo.
"Now bring it on!" Inuyasha calls out as a fireball rushes towards him, but Inuyasha dodges it by jumping.
"I won't kill you now, but it sure will be a good fight," Karan states as she begins to blow, causing fire to swirl around her.
"Just try and come after me." Karan urges as the flames fester.
"Sure, it's your funeral!" Inuyasha bellows as Shūran goes to grab Miroku and Songo, but they both dodge him.
"Watch out, Songo!" Kagome calls out, causing me to turn to her, while Kirara was beside us, transformed.
"Just stay behind me." I insist, but then I see a girl walking up towards us.
"Another Cat Demon-" I was interrupted as I began to feel dizzy and fell to the ground. "Shit..." I think as my vision goes black.
(3rd POV)
Kagome, (Y/N), and Kirara were knocked unconscious as an orange-haired Cat Girl stood before them.
"Kagome, (Y/N)! What did you do?!" Songo exclaims, causing the orange-haired cat girl to grin, but then Shūran began to laugh. However, Shūran's laugh turned into screaming as electricity started appearing around him and engulfed everyone. Once the light dispersed, it revealed Shūran had both the unconscious (Y/N) and Kagome in his arms as Shūnran and Karan were beside him.
"This one has the Sacred Jewel Shards, all right." Shūran made known, causing Inuyasha to look over and outstretch his arm towards them.
"Kagome!" Inuyasha screams.
"Huh. This girl seems to mean a lot more to you, Inuyasha." Karan states as she points towards Kagome.
"Yeah, and you'd better let her go." Inuyasha declares as he starts to stand up.
"So this one must be his weakness then." Shunran points out, causing the other to chuckle.
"You'll have to come to our castle if you want them back. If you can. That is. We'll be waiting for you, Inuyasha." Karan insists as they then begin running away.
"No! Stop!" Inuyasha demands as he goes to chase after them, but Cat Demon soldiers appear around him.
"Out of my way!" Inuyasha bellows as he rushes towards them with his claws, but then the Cats keep dodging his advances.
"Damn it! I'll get them." Inuyasha adds as he begins running in the direction the Cat Demons left.
"I'm going with you." Shippo made known as he jumped on Inuyasha's shoulder.
"We'd better go, too, Miroku," Songo suggests as she pushes Kirara up.
"How's Kirara?" Miroku asks, while standing up.
"She's fine. I'm sure she'll come to in a minute." Songo answers as he looks down at Kirara with a slightly worried expression.
"My lord, I'll be leaving now." Hacchi bows, causing Miroku to put on an annoyed expression.
"Oh, no. You're coming with us." Miroku decides as he grabs Hacchi by his kimono collar.
(To Koga)
Rushing towards a group he knows all too well, he stops a few feet in front of them.
"Hey, Mutt. Where's Kagome and (Y/N)?" Koga asks, causing Inuyasha to scoff.
"Huh. Like it's any of your business." Inuyasha answers.
"I've been picking up the foul stench of Cat Demons in this area a lot lately. So tell me why both (Y/N) and Kagome's scents are mixed up with them now!" Koga demands, causing Inuyasha to glare at him.
"What are you getting at?!" Inuyasha exclaims.
"I'd better not find out that they've both been kidnapped by Cat Demons, you Mutt." Koga insists, causing Inuyasha to growl at him.
"You fool! They were captured?! What were you thinking?!" Koga exclaims as he points at Inuyasha with an angry scowl.
"Shut up! It wasn't like I handed them over on a platter." Inuyasha remarks.
"Koga!" Voices ring out, causing Koga to look behind him.
"I haven't got time to lose," Koga states as he begins running and passes by Ginta and Hakkaku while doing so.
"Koga, wait!" Hakkaku calls out, but Koga didn't stop.
(To (Y/N) )
"Let me go! Put me down, you creep." Kagome demands, while trying to struggle, but I remained silent. "It's better to observe for right now..." I think as I glare over at Karan.
"We got them. We go the Shards." Karan informs, as she holds up the bottle that Kagome had.
"Those belong to me. Give me that back!" Kagome demands as we come up to a woman with blue hair.
"I thought I said to get the one. Why did you bring back two strange-looking girls?" Tōran asks with a glare, but I returned it.
"This one is Inuyasha's Wench," Karan answers as she points at Kagome.
"Inuyasha? The younger son of the old mutt?" Tōran questions.
"Yeah. He's alive. Isn't that a surprise?" Shunran asks with a grin, as Karan looks over at Inuyasha.
"She seemed like good bait, so we decided to bring her along." Karan answers.
"Tell me what you want! What are you gonna do to Inuyasha?!" Kagome exclaims as she points at them with an angry expression.
"We're gonna kill him." Shunran made known with a malicious grin, causing me to scoff, and they all looked at me.
"Quite the confidence for a bunch of fur balls." I jibe, causing them all to glare at me.
"What the hell did you say?!" Karan exclaims as she grabs my face and holds out her claws. "These low-class Cat Demons don't scare me one bit." I think with a chuckle.
"Karan!" Tōran calls out, causing Karan to tense up and slowly turn to Tōran, who was walking towards me.
"You're quite calm in this situation," Tōran states as Karan moves out of the way. "She's a little higher up on the food chain, but there's no way she's the leader." I think as I glare at Tōran.
"What do you think, Tōron?" Karan questions as she glares at me.
"She's definitely the bait I was seeking for him..." Tōran trails off with a satisfied expression. "Him?" I wonder, but then feel Jewel Shards coming from above us.
"Kagome! (Y/N)!" Koga's voice rang out, causing both of us to look up.
"Koga!" Kagome calls out, causing me to sigh. "Is he trying to get himself killed?" I wonder as a grin appears on his face.
"I'm here to save you two." Koga declares, causing all the Cat Demons to look up at him.
"You're not invited to this Little Party, Wolf Boy." Karan specifies as she shoots fire towards him, and they start running. "Actually, this could be a good distraction." I think with a smirk.
"After them!" I hear Koga bellow as I close my eyes.
"Now or never," I whisper as a blast of light shines out from my body.
"Ahh!" Shūran screams, causing me to open my eyes to see Kagome and me falling.
"We're falling!" Kagome screams as I reach out for her hand as we are falling, but someone grabs her.
"Not a chance." Karan insists.
"Damn you!" I curse, but before I could do anything, she jumped away with Kagome. "Shit, I didn't think this part through!" I think as I quickly close my eyes to brace for impact, but then warmth envelopes me.
"Got you." Koga's voice sounds out as I feel warmth, causing me to open my eyes and see him staring back at me.
"Thanks, Koga..." I breathe as he lets me down, but I look over to see a giant wall in front of us. "Was this here before?" I wonder as I narrow my eyes at it.
"What's with this wall?" Koga asks as I look over to see Inuyasha standing there.
"Kagome!" Inuyasha calls out, but it just echoes through the chasm.
"Where are you?!" Koga exclaims as we all begin looking around the wall.
"Kagome!" Inuyasha bellows.
"Say something! Can you hear me?!" Koga exclaims as I begin trying to sense the Jewel Shards, but I could only feel Koga's and my own around my neck.
"Why can't I...?" I trail off as I touch the wall.
"Koga, what's the matter?" Gina asks.
"Where did the Cats get to?" Hakkaku questions, causing Koga to turn to them.
"We've lost them. They vanished without a trace." Koga responds.
"I'm not picking up any scent of the Cats or Kagome." Inuyasha insists.
"Yeah, their scent has completely disappeared," Koga adds.
"Do you sense the Jewel Shards, (Y/N)?" Inuyasha asks, looking over at me, but I shake my head.
"I can only sense Koga's," I answer, causing Koga to look at me with a bewildered expression.
"So, it's just like Naraku's barrier then." Koga adds.
"Huh? Barrier, you say?" Inuyasha questions as he drawls his Tessaiga and points it towards the wall.
"What are you planning to do with that sword?" Koga asks, but then his as well as my eyes widen at the sight of Inuyasha's blade turning a brilliant red. "This must be the new move Inuyasha learned..." I think as Inuyasha brings down his sword.
