In today's digital age, cellphones have become an essential tool for communication, information access, and educational purposes. However, their impact on students' productivity and academic performance raises concerns, particularly regarding distractions and time management challenges. The research aims to examine both the positive and negative effects of cellphone use while students are completing their school tasks. It focuses on how mobile devices can aid in learning through educational apps, online resources, and communication platforms, but also how excessive use for non-academic purposes can lead to procrastination, reduced focus, and lower efficiency in schoolwork completion. Surveys and interviews were conducted with selected Grade 12 students to gather data on their cellphone usage patterns and study habits. 2 Findings from this study highlight the importance of promoting responsible cellphone use among students. The results can serve as a basis for developing strategies that help students maximize the benefits of technology while minimizing its distractions. This study aims to provide valuable insights for educators, parents, and students on how to create a balanced and productive learning environment in the presence of mobile technology.
