Chapter 2 - Adventure 2: The Beast Deep In The Blue

"What the hell is that?!"

Turning his head straight down to the ground, he felt the sand beneath him sinking down. Pulling his feet in. While he watched the rest of the land behind him begin to cave in.

I'm getting out of here. Now!

Or so he thought but his legs are stuck. Now all he can do is pull at them, hoping to get out or he's utterly fucked.

"Come on, come on, come on, come on, come on, come on, come on, Come on, Come On, COME ON, COME ONNN, COME ONNNNNNNN! MOVE DAMN IT, MOVEEEE!"

Pulling with everything he's got, his legs shoot out the sand, sending him flying face first, tasting a mouthful of sand. Spitting it out frequently as he rises to his feet, dusting off his hands.

Puah. Great now I can taste it too.Damn! This place is crazy. Just like that? No warning or nothing? This might be harder than I thought. If I'm going to survive, I gotta step up my game. Time to get moving, this place won't wait for me and it damn sure won't stay still forever.

I'm gonna get ahead of whatever the hell that is while in still in one piece. Speaking of which-

Patting himself down quickly to check if he's okay, he looks down at his pants seeing stains and grains on his black baggy pants blowing in the wind. Then lifts his feet to check if they were okay. Examining his black shoes with purple soles. He takes them off to make sure nothing was missing not even a single toe.

"Unphased again? I'm loving this body!"

Putting a hand over his eyes to block out the light, he looks towards the distant mountains radiating under the green skies above. Seeing only it's outline vaguely before turning to the sound of creatures flying above.

What the hell are those? Yeah I'm good on that. I think I'll keep going, I'm not dealing with that. Those things are hideous too. It's three of them and one of me. An since they blend in with the sky, I doubt I'm having fun with that.

"I'm just gonna go this way you guys have fun with that."

And just like that it was finally time to go. Making his way across the black desert was his first step towards home. There's no going back. Crossing the frigid sand's will take up his time. But when you don't know it's gone, how do you know what's left?

You take a gamble and choose that path that's right. But be careful your bound to go right you can't help but but see what's left. An this level of curiosity may just lead to your death. It depends on how much time you've got left.

After traveling far he sees something in the distance, not to far away. He turns away from the mountains. Captivated by a faint blue glow.

"Ouu something shiny! That's all I needed to see."

"Maybe it was left by someone. I'll go over and check it out, then I'll be on my way. A quick detour to see if it might be useful to me then I'll be back on track."

Nearing the structure he sees something huge sitting atop the sand. Squinting his eyes to try and make out what exactly awaits.

No clue what I'm looking at but I hope whatever it is doesn't want me dead. I've got enough worries as of now I don't need anything else hitting me upside my head.

Making his way to closer to the massive blue stone, shining brightly, with symbols carved into it's side resembling a tear. He brings his head in closer for a better look. Climbing over the rock to make his way around, he could see right through it, all the way to the ground.

Stepping over it carefully he holds onto it and slowly slides down the other side. Stopping himself in the center as he looks directly into it, realizing it's an eye, shattered deep within. Seeing fragments and fractures along the faded iris within. He examines the route leading his eyes back to him.

"What could even do this much damage without even tearing in?"

Pushing his feet off it he jumps backwards into the air. Looking at it's eyes reflection on his way down to the ground. Seeing the faint reflection of a small town not far away.

"It doesn't look like much from here but I bet that there's people there."

Landing on his feet he stretches, pulling his arms over his head. Watching as a strand of purple hair blows in the wind, falling from his head.

Is it worth the risk thought?

The path to the mountains will be long gone if I keep going this way. Fuck it! I'll just look for some people, ask directions, and I'll be on my way. It's not like much will change if I don't find a better way to get around. I'm getting tired of all this walking anyways, it won't hurt to find a place to rest for a bit.

"I've made up my mind to the city I go!"

Looks like he'll keep going left knowing it's not right. Curiosity is a dangerous game, with an unknown cost. I hope this path he's taking doesn't end in loss.

Right as he walked off it blinked once, then did it again. Something dark has awakened be careful friend. What was buried deep in these sands, will soon rise again. An there's no telling if it's a foe or friend.
