Chapter 4 - Adventure 4: The Wish I Kept

Shit! I don't got time to move. How the fuck is it so fast.

Getting one last look at it's body as its hand closes in, he looks at its skin covered in black markings and char. Looking at it's chest he see's a deep nasty scar. Much like the one's across it's mouth. Memorizing the flickering symbols in its eyes.

Putting his hands up to block it's slaps, the pressure still drags him to the ground. Slamming him flat on his back.

"AHHH! DAMN IT! THAT FUCKING HURT! YOU'LL PAY FOR THAT!"

Looking up at the dark green cloud all coming together, he turned his head to see the hand coming again. Scrapping across the ground, sending a sandstorm his way. Mounting his feet to the ground he leaps into the air, appearing above the plume.

"An here I was feeling sorry for you! I can see why whoever whooped your ass did it to you. You're out of control! But if you wanna get crazy I can do that too."

Striking him with it's palm, it closes it's hand. Putting immense pressure on him and weighing down his hands. It spins him around and launches him flying across the sky.

"Is that the best you got? I'm still standing big guy-"

Stretching out it's left hand, the beast drives it's fist directly into his face. Sending him flying so far he vanished across the sky without a trace. Slamming him directly into the side, of the mountain's face.

Damn it. Everything's fading away. I should've shut my mouth, I probably could have ran away. I knew he could swat me like a fly. But if I back down now … how could I look him in the eyes.

Everything's fading to white.

"Iramo … Iramo … get up! Open your eyes!"

Ugh … what … where are you? Who's- uhku … speaking right now?

"It's time to go son, you can't stay in today."

I opened my eyes to look at him but I couldn't see his face. He was a tall man, wearing a red robe, over his brown skin. He had on black shorts, with a dark star logo on them. Holding an empty wooden sheath in his hand. He called me son but who is this man?

"I know you still sleepy but time waits for no man. Come on, it's time to get up."

Pulling back the covers of my bed, I looked at my little hands. Waving them around seeing my smooth brown skin. I still can't believe this was me. I turn to look into the window, for a good look at myself. Seeing my short, purple, hair and my cute little face. I'm even more curious to know what he looks like! Do I got his face?

Was this really my life? Putting hands on my face rubbing them down my smooth skin. I couldn't help but wonder if I look the same now? Ya know after all this time? Or maybe that was a dream and this is really my life? Either way I have to take it all in and enjoy the sight.

The scenery of the yellow sky, kissing the clouds and the blue sheets on my bed . I've got a big room and a super soft blanket too! It feels so soft and cozy. The opposite of how things have been for me. I hope when I get back to Tetra everyday can be like this. No troubles, no worries just pure bliss. I even got a family here it can't get better than this!

"Iramo! Did you go back to sleep on me?"

Oh right, getting ready for the day.

"No dad! Just getting out of bed."

"Yeah, yeah, you zoned out you sleepy head. It's alright, take your time son, I'll be waiting in the living room for you. Just come out when your ready."

My name's Iramo. I have a name! I wonder how he came up with it? Wait, what's his name? I could ask but I don't wanna act out of place. For now I'll go with the flow and act how I was when I was in this place. But I still wish, I could see your face. I'd rather recognize you dad — than just remember this place. What kind of son doesn't even know his father's face.

"Is something troubling you son? You're a bit off your step today? If something's wrong you can talk to me, it'll take your worries away."

I can't tell just how things are here but I don't see my mom yet — maybe father raised me alone? But judging by the looks of it, he definitely didn't style this place on his own. He's built but his styles way to basic for that. Especially for this golden thing hanging from the roof. You're plenty cool dad but you're not doing it on your own. I wonder if she's here? It shouldn't be weird to ask him if my mother is here.

"I'm okay dad, I'm just wondering where's mom at? Is she okay?"

Resting his hand on my head, he gently but firmly presses down on my head. Rubbing it in a circle, boy am I glad he's my dad. Not only does he look strong, look at the scars on his hand. He's got this gentle presence but I'm sure he can easily kill a man.

"Don't worry, Iramo your mother's on her way. She went to the market with her sisters, she'll be back a little later today. If that was all that was on your mind, hurry and get ready, we're going out for training today."

"Will I get hurt?"

Turning his back to me, I could see the small, hand shaped, burn marks along his back. Slightly glowing as he turned his head to look back at me. His face was blurry but his eye came to life, that look of determination he had in this eyes spoke volumes he'd never say to me. He has a heart stronger than my own, he'd give everything for me. Even his life. An I have no doubt he'd do the same for my mom, after all that is his wife.

"You will never get hurt as long as I'm around son. I can guarantee that."

Even though it's a first for me … I believe him with all my heart. He's got such an earnest look in his eyes — I can tell he's got a good heart.

"Now let's get you ready for the day. The sooner you get ready the sooner we can go out there and get dinner on the way back."

I keep getting lost in thought.

Right! Training let's get these clothes on and get out there, I'll finally see what I can really do! I might be young but I'm bound to have the same skills and odds are I'm even better now! I gotta hurry up and change I can't wait for training now!

Walking up to a big drawer with rosy designs, I pulled out the bottom drawer to find a blue vest and black pants inside. They look pretty comfy and would you look at this design. It gives you just enough space around the neck, to let the wind flow. I could get used to this! Oh and look at look these shoes their just my size!

"Iramo! You finished yet? We got a lot to do today!"

I got so focused on the clothes I forgot.

"Coming dad! Just putting on my shoes!

You think I'd miss out on training when there's so much I could learn from you? Absolutely not!

"I'm all done dad! Let's go out to our spot!"

"That's the spirit! Alright then, let's get going but let's make it fun! Last one to the bottom of the hill has to walk back up with their thumbs."

WHAT! No way I can do that! I better put my all into this run.

"You're on dad, I won't be losing today."

Right as we sprinted out that door, everything got so bright. An before I knew it I was back to reality. Brought back by the light. Aching in pain as I think about who would of won.

"Damn it. I was just starting to have fun."

Feeling sweat roll down his face, he looked up into the purple light.

"I still here? So I really just lost that fight. That makes sense though, it was more than just a difference of height."

Looking around to see the damage through the mountain side and all the shards scattered around him. Iramo looked off into the distance, for any signs of the giant but he was long gone. The only thing left was a shiny, silver, pocket watch face down in the ground. Reflecting blue light into his eyes as he lifted it off the ground. Freezing in place as a fire lit in his eyes.

"So that what you meant. Hehe, what an interesting guy."

He got a glimpse of something … interesting in his eyes but only he can tell. It seems to have fired him up for the journey so hopefully, all is well.
