The next day
Mrs. May's eyes were fixed on the TV as Han and Taejoon's recent song, "Myth," are played on TV. Her eyes widened in shock, and she called out to her mother, Mrs. Bell. "Mom, sit and watch."
Mrs. Bell hurried to her side, sitting down beside her. "Isn't that the 'Myths' song?" she asked, her voice tinged with curiosity.
Mrs. May nodded, her eyes still fixed on the screen. "Yes, it is, Mom."
Mrs. Bell's expression turned serious. "How is this possible?"
Mrs. May's voice was measured. "That's not what I'm worried about. What I'm worried about is the fortune teller's words coming true."
Mrs. Bell's eyes locked onto hers, her gaze intense. "What if you're wrong? And what exactly did the fortune teller told you?"
Mrs. May took a deep breath, her voice steady as she began to explain. "When Min-Jun was still 3 years old and Han was just a baby, and the war between my brother and Mako was still intense, my brother's wife, Isabel, and I went to a fortune teller, a powerful magician. We wanted to see if there was still hope."
Mrs. May's voice was laced with a deep sadness as she continued. "The fortune teller told us that my brother, Isabel, and their kids were going to die. The only way to protect the kids was to seal their powers, which she did. Min-Jun's memories were also sealed."
Mrs. Bell's eyes were wide with shock. "Why?"
Mrs. May's voice was barely above a whisper. "Because the fortune teller told us we'd be under attack by Mako, and he'd kill Isabel, me, and the kids. We couldn't let that happen, so the fortune teller cast a spell on two dead kids' bodies, one a baby the age of Han, and the other the age of Min-Jun. She gave them the looks of Han and Min-Jun and brought them back to life, but the spell would only last for an hour."
Mrs may sighs and continue speaking
So Isabel gave me both kids, the fortune teller told me I should give Min-Jun to the first lady I saw crying for a child.
Mrs. Bell's voice was laced with emotion. "Then what happened to Isabel?"
Mrs. May's eyes dropped, her voice heavy with grief. "Mom, are you really that old now? anyways Isabel was killed by Mako, just like the fortune teller said. And the switched kids..."
Mrs. Bell's eyes were filled with tears. "And what did you do?"
Mrs. May's voice was laced with regret. "I ran and ran until I couldn't run anymore. I saw a rich woman crying because she couldn't bear a child, so I gave Min-Jun to her. She made a promise to love and protect him, and I started a new life and raised Han as my own."
The room fell silent, the only sound the soft hum of the TV. Mrs. Bell's voice was filled with a mix of sadness and curiosity. "That's a really sad story. But what did the fortune teller tell you? How would you be able to identify Min-Jun?"
Mrs. May's voice was measured. "According to her, Han and Min-Jun would sing the 'Myths' together."
Mrs. Bell's eyes locked onto the TV screen, her voice filled with a mix of hope and fear. "Then what will happen?"
Mrs. May's voice was barely above a whisper. "If the person is Min-Jun, the 'Myths' will give life and awaken my brother, Alexander."
The implications hung in the air, and Mrs. Bell's voice was filled with uncertainty. "And if it doesn't?"
Mrs. May's eyes dropped, her voice heavy with emotion. "The person is not Min-Jun."
Mrs. Bell's gaze was intense. "You're trying to say... Taejoon is Min-Jun because they sang the 'Myths' together?"
Mrs. May's voice was laced with doubt. "I don't know. I mean, if my brother awakens, it's a confirmation Taejoon is Min-Jun."
