"DXD: Infinite Loot System"Chapter 336: The Hero Faction Strikes

The hall was quiet, sunlight slanting across polished floors. Tenra and the girls sipped black tea—trying, for a moment, to forget the tension of the past two days. Ever since the Khaos Brigade began lurking at the edges of their world, everyone had been on edge. A little peace was overdue.

But peace shattered in an instant.

A chill swept through the room, sharp and unnatural, prickling skin and setting nerves on edge. The air itself seemed to twist.

"Tenra!"

"Tenra-sama!"

Rias and the others felt it too. Instinctively, they closed ranks around Tenra.

"Get down!" Tenra barked, voice cutting through the confusion.

Too late.

BOOM!

Light exploded—a blinding flash, then the world itself detonated. Walls, ceiling, everything—gone in a thunderclap.

"Cough… cough…"

"Is everyone okay?" Tenra called out, floating midair, shielded by shimmering barrier spheres. He scanned the group, counting heads.

"We're fine," Rias answered, voice tight.

"Uu… our house…" Asia whimpered, tears brimming as she looked down at the ruins.

Tosca's [Blade Blacksmith] had flared to life just in time, wrapping everyone in protective magic. But the Kamiyo home below was nothing but rubble.

Tenra gently touched Asia's shoulder. "Don't worry. That's not our real house—they've transported us to a pocket dimension. It's all an illusion."

They drifted to the ground, the dust settling around them. Tenra's gaze sharpened, zeroing in on the figures waiting nearby.

"I'm right, aren't I, Cao Cao?"

Across the ruined landscape, Cao Cao stood with Georg, Heracles, and a small army of Khaos Brigade operatives.

"Long time no see, Tenra Kamiyo," Cao Cao greeted, twirling his war spear. "You're correct. Fighting out in the open would be messy—and it'd put civilians at risk. Moving you here is much more convenient."

He smiled, all smug courtesy.

Rias glared daggers. "Since when do terrorists care about civilian casualties? Don't insult our intelligence."

Anyone would be furious—having your home blown up in the middle of tea. Rias was no exception.

Cao Cao turned his gaze to her. "You must be Rias Gremory, Tenra's fiancée. The famous noble princess—Lucifer's little sister."

He shrugged. "I understand your hostility, Princess. But you're mistaken. Yes, we're terrorists. But we don't target innocents unless we have to. Nearly all our operations have avoided harming ordinary people."

He sounded almost proud.

Rias's lips twitched. She wanted to retort, but—annoyingly—he wasn't entirely wrong. The Khaos Brigade had left plenty of casualties among the supernatural, but regular people rarely got caught in the crossfire.

What kind of terrorist group was this? Ethical? Absurd.

"Cao Cao, what's your real goal?" Tenra cut in, sensing Rias's rising anger.

"Our goal? Vali should've told you by now," Cao Cao replied, lips curling. He clearly knew exactly what Vali had been up to.

Ravel, fingers flying over her communicator, looked up in alarm. "Tenra-sama, I can't reach Vali or the others!"

Cao Cao smirked. "Don't bother. I know Vali's been helping you—and he played a part in getting Ophis out. So, to keep him out of my way, I've sent Siegfried and Leonardo to block him."

Tenra's jaw tightened. Rias and the girls looked grim.

Cao Cao had planned for everything.

Finally, Ophis spoke. Her voice was flat, almost bored. "Cao Cao, do you intend to kill me?"

"Sorry, Boss. That's exactly the plan."

He didn't flinch. "You've given us power, helped us gather allies. But you're still a problem. Even as a figurehead, you can't be fully controlled."

He sighed, almost theatrically. "Honestly, every time I need something from you, I have to invent a dozen excuses. It's exhausting."

He said it with the casual honesty of someone discussing paperwork, not murder.

Rias and the girls stared, half laughing in disbelief. He'd used Ophis for everything—and now she was just 'too much trouble'?

Scum. Absolute scum.

Ophis blinked, unfazed. "I don't understand. But I am invincible. You cannot kill me."

No anger, no fear. Her mind couldn't even process Cao Cao's twisted logic.

Cao Cao nodded. "You're right. You're too strong—strong enough to make anyone despair. Even if I gave it everything, I couldn't kill you."

He paused, eyes narrowing.

"But I still want to try!"

With a sudden, vicious motion, he thrust his spear forward.

"Holy Spear, pierce her!"

Golden light erupted from the True Longinus, the weapon stretching impossibly long, its tip blazing as it shot toward Ophis's abdomen.

It happened in a heartbeat—too fast for anyone to react.

"Ophis!"

"Ophis-chan!"

They'd been wary of Ophis once, but now she was family. Seeing her struck by Cao Cao's spear, every girl in the room felt their heart stop.

But their fear was wasted.

The True Longinus ripped through Ophis's clothes—yet left her skin untouched. Not a scratch.

Cao Cao exhaled, frustrated. "As expected, it's useless."

He turned to Tenra. "See that, Kamiyo? That's the Infinite Dragon God for you. An attack like that would destroy gods and Demon Lords. But her? Nothing."

Tenra didn't answer. He was still reeling.

This was Ophis—the Infinite Dragon God. The absolute summit of power.

Whether it was Cao Cao or himself, in front of her, they were nothing but ants.

Ophis tilted her head. "Cao Cao, do you want to try again?"

Even after being attacked, she showed no sign of anger. When you're bitten by an ant, do you bother to get mad? The gap in power was simply too vast.

Cao Cao withdrew his spear, a little embarrassed. "No, no. Trying again would just make me look foolish."

He shook off his frustration, then straightened.

"Even if we all joined forces, we couldn't beat you, Ophis. But today, we brought a special gift."

He glanced at Georg. "Georg, bring out our trump card."

"Understood!"
