(The next day at the Union headquarters)
The Union's headquarters was an inhumanly immense building that seemed to be hundreds of meters underground, but had a well-done interior, white walls, statues, and a huge fountain that had a statue of a mermaid pouring water into it, the fountain, and a lot of people in the Union's uniform talking and eating together. People of all shapes and sizes were present, such as orcs, elves, humans, fairies, and some of them were even demons.
Clad and Andras eventually reach the Union headquarters's section U to meet up with the rest of the group, but first he would to introduce him to his new roommate.
"roommate?" Clad asks him.
"Yep!" Andras answered joyfully.
Andras tells Clad that he will be roommates with a girl named Jill Darkheid. A rather tall woman, around an entire head taller than clad from what he saw, with snow white hair and blood red eyes, with pointy ears and a cold yet beautiful face. She didn't seem to like his unprofessional appearance, and he didn't seem to like her uptight, noble look either.
(In their dorm room)
Clad tries to introduce himself, but Jill ignores him, which annoys him a bit, so he unpacks his stuff without bothering her. Jill claims that he is dirty and that he should take a shower.
"What's your deal!?" Clad says as he felt insulted by her comment, as he took a shower before arriving here.
"You're new here, so I'll make it short. In 3 hours, there will be a meeting with the entirety of squad U, so hurry up and go take a bath!" She says with an angered look on her face.
Clad sighs before taking a shower and comes back out only to see that Jill has already arranged all his clothes for the meeting.
Clad comments on the fact that she is ready 2 and a half hours early, and she replies saying.
"With the Captain, the meeting might start in 30 minutes, even if he said it's in 3 hours.
"Why would he do that?" Clad asked her.
"No point in asking anyone, nobody knows why he does this," Jill says with an annoyed look on her face, which makes Clad wonder what he did to make her so annoyed in the first place.
(During the meeting.) The Captain introduces Clad to the rest of group U.
"This is Clad, thanks to Hilda's vouching, he will be joining us from now on!"
"Hi, Clad!" They all say in unison.
"Uh, hi!"
And they seem pretty kind, unlike Jill. They all sit in the room, and the captain tells them their mission for today.
As Captain U talks about their mission, a woman whispers to Clad, asking if he's okay, and that Jill is known to be the most cruel of the Darkheids when angered.
"Her?" He replies as he points at the white haired, pointy-eared woman, as he remembers their past encounter.
"Yes, and Clad, I'm Hilda, by the way." She whispers to him before suddenly hearing a deafening shout filling the room.

[ATTENTION PLEASE!] was heard through the microphone
Captain U tells them their missions. Some were given a mission to stop slave traders from doing business, and others were given the mission to research for slave traders' connections so that they could shut their business down forever, which included Hilda in the team. But Andras gives Jill a separate one with Clad to test him. They will be looking for a group of thieves who have been acting quite suspicious lately.
"Yes, sir!" they all shout in unison before getting up and preparing to leave.
Jill is annoyed by this but agrees to it anyway and tells Clad to follow her.
"Good luck!" Hilda whispers to him as everyone leaves for their assigned missions.
(A few hours later)
Jill and Clad are walking around in one of Naroth's cities when they see someone getting their bag stolen by a group of thieves from afar.
"It must be them," Jill says, pointing at the thieves.
Jill doesn't do anything, waiting for Clad's approach to the situation, and Clad jumps on a nearby house's roof and follows the thieves from above without them noticing that they are being followed. And eventually tracks the area where their base is, and Jill compliments him for not immediately stopping him, but looking for the source instead.
The two go inside the base, stealthfully sneaking around and see two thieves opening the bag, looking for valuable items. As they are hiding in the shadow of the unorganized place, they listened to their conversations.
"What could be used as a sacrifice in this? Gold?" One of them said.
"I don't know, maybe the masquerra!? Yes, gold, you dumbass!" The other one replies to him with an angry tone.
"It's my first time summoning a demon, how would I know you angry ass cat!?" The bald man replies.
Ugh!
"Just give me the damn jewelry already!" The cat-eared man said before snatching the golden bracelet out of the bald man's hands.
Tsk!
"Let's get this over with already."
As the two start the ritual to summon a demon, Clad rushes in, smoothly hitting the cat-eared man behind his neck, knocking him unconscious as he fell on the ground.
Thud!
"What the!?" The bald man shouted before attempting to hit Clad with a spinning kick, but Clad took the hit to the torso on purpose and grabbed his leg with his right arm, then punched him with his left, knocking him out as well. Jill ties them and starts a call on her phone.
"Good work, I'm going to call group K so that they can take care of the rest."
As she tells Group K about who they have tied up on the ground, a woman with red skin, white hair with two big braids in fron going down her chest, red eyes, and wearing a suit with a golden tie suddenly appears out of thin air behind her.

"Jill!" Clad shouts as the woman closes the gap between herself and Jill.
"Jill! Been a while, huh?" The woman says as she hugs her from behind.
Ugh
"Been a while, Jamie," Jill replies, clearly not enjoying her presence here.
???
"She's your frien-"
"No, she isn't," She says with a stern and cold look at Clad as she becomes visually more annoyed by the situation she's in.
"How mean!, After all we've been through together!? Ahh! I think I'm going to drink myself to sleep tonight!" Jamie says dramatically while leaning on her shoulder.
"Just get the thieves into questioning already!" Jill shouts as she unleashes her red and black energy, filling the room with anger.
"Alright, Alright, my bad..." She, as she walked towards the two thieves.
"And by the way, Clad was it?"
"What?" Clad awnsers, wondering what she is going to tell him.
"Welcome to the Union." She tells him before vanishing with the two men. Leaving Clad to wonder what is the relationship between Jill and Jamie.
"Come on, let's go give the items back."
"R-right..." he quickly replies before following her.
After that, they gave the items back to the people and went back to the Union headquarters.
As the two walked into the headquarters, Clad asks Jill how she is so tall, and she replies.
"Ugh, you're so annoying."
